If we take away religion, I think for me there will be equality as far as gambling goes. There is no boundaries in gender, both of them can be addicted to it. Just visit a land base casinos and you will see a lot of women also sitting on the baccarat table or in a slot machine playing.

I think the issue with women discrimination in gambling tend to align along cultural and region line this is because countries around the west are more free and exposed to vises such as gambling and other social activities and at that,  women in such location will have minimal discrimination to deal with when it comes to gambling,  but then also we have to look at some other countries where a lot of things and restricted to the women folks such as the middle east just as LUCKMCFLY mentioned,  females in such location will have iddetity crisis to fight against.

Leaving aside this part of religion, because many of these religions are creating things to deceive people, and it is a form of mental control that they do. but looking at this issue of gambling, if we took women to learn how to play poker, sports betting, blackjack, I do believe that we would see many women doing very well and being superior to men, the reason why we don't see many women playing the games of bad luck and because women, when it comes to money, look more at spending it on something that is much more important to them, for example if we put 1000$ and tell 1000 women the following:

You hardly see a woman getting involve in high risk deals like gambling,  so aside from the societal criticism against women in gambling the other thing that limit women also is the risk involvement in gambling.

Since gambling involve high risk,  most women will bypass gambling due to it high risk.
