Even without these restrictions,  many women still won't gamble.  The percentage of women who gamble will still be low. Gambling is a risky adventure and a good percentage of women are risk adverse. Women in sports are influenced by the movement empowering women. But even decades ago women were already into sports but more on the feminine sports like badminton or volleyball. I'm however not convinced they are betting on sports, they are often just up to medals and recognitions.
