The final scoreline looked set to remain 1-0 for the home team, Manchester United. Manchester United's defense was somewhat different in this match, consistently thwarting Newcastle's attacks, and Newcastle only had one shot on target throughout the match.
The match was coming to a close, and this loss would put Newcastle dangerously close to the relegation zone if the bottom four teams could win their matches this week.

Yeah the game almost finished and Manchester United picked three points from Newcastle United although the away team tried hard to catch them. Only 15 minutes to go and still 1-0 to Man Utd. I would really like this game to be a draw but Newcastle have been terrible. I suppose it only takes one moment to score an equaliser but Newcastle haven’t created much, plenty of time to grab a goal but not looking likely atm.

Their finishers were really problematic in this game and even up until the 75th minute I hadn't seen an on target Newcastle shot although in the last few minutes when the intensity was higher there were some slightly threatening chances for Manchester United.

It looks like this match will end for a narrow Manchester United victory with the current conditions especially now that the match has entered extra time.
Newcastle's possession is very good but that's all they can do as they can't really maximize the advantages in their midfield.

This is a very good advantage for Manchester United because with these 3 points they are back to a slightly more comfortable position and with the loss of many players in the main squad now these 3 points are certainly very memorable for them.
Newcastle ruined my high hopes for this match because in terms of the squad they were much better prepared but their performance in attack was really bad which made when Manchester United took a 1-goal lead then they only tried to defend it until the end.

Newacastle only tried to play the ball but they were very difficult to penetrate the Manchester United defense and this should be a good lesson for Howe to evaluate the squad they have.

Manchester United were able to get all three points against Newcastle United which wasn't expected, at least they keeping a clean sheet but  having limited attacking prowess through AFCON, it was a wonderful one. A tough one for them all through but they were able to hold strong and one of their usual critic Dorgu  got the only goal for them to fight and hope to get the win. It was indeed not an easy game for them.


My team against Aston Villa will be a difficult one for us especially from the fact that they are in a remarkable form, but if we can actually fight and give our best especially in defensive wise, limiting the number of goals we can concede this might increase our chances of winning.

Manchester United did well tonight, at least to win Newcastle is no easy feat. Their obviously poor defense was tightened today, thanks to Lisandro Martinez and his boys. I'm happy to see Manchester United waking up from their obvious low performance and making both fans and their manager happy. Honestly I'm very happy with the outcome of today's match despite not being a fan of Manchester United. Hope they continue improving in their performance. Congratulations to them.

Chelsea would win Aston Villa tomorrow. The A. Villa that played the last game isn't that strong anymore. I feel they're dropping form already but tomorrow would surely decide.

It’s a temporary position when the other teams play their next game there’s a high probability that United will be moved further down. It was a good game today for them they earned the three points in a boxing match it wasn’t easy at all, they surprised me I expected Newcastle to come back into the game cos the goal was early and in the first half so there was a lot of time to do that but luck wasn’t on their side today and Man United was the better United. Kudos to them and to Rubem Amorim, they’re trying to be consistent in their form but a lot of works still have to be done.

I tell people Everytime that Manchester United's problem is Bruno Fernandez. The player aren't comfortable when he's on the pitch and instead of giving their best, they play for his validation. Imagine Dorgu getting the only goal of the match and even with key players out, they were able to tighten their defense and refuse Newcastle from scoring throughout the match. You can only imagine if Diallo, Mbeumo and Mazzaroui were present in this match, they would've fed Newcastle with more goals.

I maintain that these players play with more confidence when Bruno is absent on the pitch. Newcastle was obviously the better side today, Manchester United played business football and remained focused on their 3 points until full-time. Congrats to them. Amorim can breathe a sigh of relief tonight.

Even though it is Manchester United's home match, I am not interested in betting on Manchester United's win. The performance of this team is very erratic.

Just because Manchester United will be playing at home doesn’t mean they going to get a win today. Manchester United is not a team which we are suppose to pick in our bet when we are gambling right now, because they are inconsistent. it’s just so difficult to predict how Manchester United will perform in matches right now. Manchester United won the match with a fantastic volley goal from Dorgu and three points in the match with Newcastle United bring Manchester United to a fifth position with same points as Chelsea but worse goal difference. They are climbing up with good improvements from performances to results and this win is good for them to enter a new year with good momentum.

That's because the team's mentality isn't strong enough under pressure. It seems we're starting to see that slowly, as Arsenal's performance has declined. However, I hope it doesn't happen again this season.
Honestly, I expect Arsenal to win the title, as they've been steadily improving over the past few seasons and deserve to win it.

Yeah between they are not so good and now they lack key players Ruben Amorim is in heavy troubles right now, Ugarte is gonna play for sure but he is really bad compared to Bruno Fernandez for example, and Mbeummo is not gonna be easy to replace as we saw against Aston Villa. I expect to see them losing against Newcastle wich is a much better team than them.

Great strike by Dorgu to put Man Utd 1-0 up. I didn’t think he had that in him to be honest. Still, after the Bournemouth game, I don’t think Man Utd fans are going to be confident until they get a second or possible even third goal. They do usually give the opposition chances.

I was quite surprised when I found out that Amorim played 4 defenders in his strategy. I thought he was a very stubborn person, but it turns out he can overcome his ego for the sake of his team. It wasn't their best performance, but at least things worked out, and most encouragingly, they managed to get 3 points at home. It seems Amorim realized that playing Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro as starters simultaneously was a risk, which is why he benched Yoro against Newcastle. The second half was really tense, especially after Amorim chose to take off Casemiro and Sesko, Man United really got tremendous pressure from Newcastle.

Liverpool are definitely the favorite for this match, Wolves have been very poor this season and I think they will be relegated this season. Liverpool has won their last 3 match,  which is a good one for them and they are also playing at home soil, so I don't see why they will not win against a verry poor Wolves team. Liverpool are also trying to get back into the top 4, so I an predicting them to win today.
