It seems Chelsea finally woke up to the reality that they need a new manager after losing the FA Cup final to Manchester City.  Looking forward to seeing how Xabi Alonso can change the trajectory of this team. I believe he is a huge step up from Maresca and Potter.

Chelsea are trying all they could, which ever door they need to knock in order to find the one that could get the job done. Xabi Alonso had a good run with Bayer Leverkusen. He had a good run in the Bundesliga and though the premier league is not usually a place for any weakness, I do think Xavi Alonso would be able to manage the team just fine. He’s being there on the pitch and would have a good hold on the players both on and off the pitch which is something this Chelsea team needs.

The referee has been getting a lot of blame online from Chelsea supporters, to be honest I don’t see that could have changed the result for Chelsea. Sure, maybe a penalty could have got them a goal but Manchester City are one of the strongest sides in England, and Europe even. I doubt a penalty could have stopped City from winning the title.

Tomorrow it looks like Man United will strengthen their position in the top 3 by beating Nottingham. From the h2h record, in the last few seasons MU has often struggled to get full points against Nottingham. But the situation is different now since Carrick seems to understand what the MU squad really needs and they have been consistently getting good results at home. Meanwhile, Nottingham will miss several injured players, and their performance probably won’t be as strong as usual.
Even if Manchester United does not strengthen their place in the top 3 by beating Nottingham Forest and adding more 3 points to their points, they will still finish in the top 3 because they are leading Aston Villa with 3 points in the league standings, and even if Aston Villa win their last game of the season and Manchester United lose their last game of the season, Manchester United will still use goal difference to remain in the top 3 and finish in the top 3 at the end of the season. And i think since Manchester United is certain of finishing in the top 3 this season their struggle against Nottingham Forest will continue since they do not have anything to lose if Nottingham Forest beat them.

Yes, assuming they lose to Nottingham, the top 3 still belongs to them and even if in the last match against Brighton they also lose, one place to the UCL for them is certain to remain safe, especially if Aston Villa wins the Europa league then Man Utd only has to relax waiting for the premier league competition to end. But I hope they don't slacken their performance, I still want them to win the remaining matches, especially against Nottingham later, because I have included them in the betting slip. Cheesy

A second trophy for Man City this season. First they won the EFL Cup, and today, after defeating Chelsea 1-0, they lifted the FA Cup.
It might not have been the most exciting game ever, but we've seen some good scoring chances on either side. It's fair to say that the win was well deserved as Man City were clearly a better team. Some could say Chelsea were robbed of some penalties, as we've seen three somewhat controversial situations when Chelsea strikers fell down in the penalty area after contact with the City's defenders, but the referee decided no fouls had been committed. I think I agree with those decisions.

With that loss, Chelsea joined Man United in record-holding for the most losses in the FA Cup finals. Both teams lost the finals 9 times.
And speaking about FA Cup records, Man City now holds the most consecutive appearances in a final of 4, which is really impressive if you think about it.

I know many were going for Chelsea, but right now Pep is really focused on winning and winning and nothing else, they only see winning. Now more than ever they know they have to accept that, they are about to give Arsenal a much bigger fight than they are looking to fall. I'm clear that Arsenal is much easier to lose than City. So far City is doing wonderfully in this Premier League, it's one of the most competitive of all.

The refereeing was bad for both sides, and I didn't necessarily see the penalty Chelsea fans are hammering about, is it that allegedly handball on Nico O'Reilly, or the attempt by Khusanov, overall those two goals where valid as even the khusanov's touch was too light for the referee to call it. Overall I like referees that don't blow excessively.

By the way, of the Chelsea team played exceptionally, they wouldn't even need that penalty to win it, instead of blaming the referee, they should play there low conversion rate

It is normal to blame someone that is why I understand why the fans are frustrated and looking for who to blame. Manchester City obviously was the favorite in the game and they played with all their strength to achieve the winning through Antoine Semenyo. Chelsea should forget about this season, they should go back to the drawing board and correct their mistakes because they ended this season in total disaster, unexpected from a team whose supporters are too noisy.

It might be because City were actually indecisive or wasteful in the final touch of clinical chances.

The game is over we lost there's nothing to cry about than for us to hope we can win our game against Tottenham and continue to keep a level of pride in London. There is nothing left than to focus on things ahead and that's next season

Well, now that the league games are nearing their end, we're seeing the moves from the club management. Manchester United has decided to keep their current manager, Michael Carrick, for another two years. I don't know why only two years; I suppose the Manchester United management is still traumatized by past signings, so they don't yet have much confidence in the current manager. They think he won by luck and want to see how he'll handle the next season. Anyway, he's now at ease because he has a two-year contract.

After losing to Manchester City, Chelsea agreed to hire Xabi Alonso. I hope the new coach makes good signings this time, sells the players who aren't contributing, and better organizes the entire squad. Xabi Alonso is a good coach; at Chelsea he will be respected, unlike at Real Madrid where the players are arrogant because of their financial situation and the titles they've won.

Chelsea fans should just accept defeat and stop crying because they were not awarded penalty, they created so many chances but because there was no player that could score for them that's why they couldn't register any goal. If the game was to be cancelled then replayed tomorrow it will still end in favor of Manchester City because a team that could go on eight matches without scoring up to two goals should not expect to win any competition. Next season will soon be here, Chelsea should do better if they need a trophy.

Chelsea need a good hand and I'm happy Xabi won the slot but don't we have other managers that can do this job. I have observed that over the last couple of years, the Premier League, Laliga and many other leagues are very used to recycling of managers, when one leaves one club another club take them up for another job but I'm sure Xabi will turn up for Chelsea. This their embarrassment is enough to seal the deal quickly so he can prepare for next season.

I'm going to be here to mock his previous club Real Madrid if he comes to Premier League and help them win the league. This are the kind of things that should be happening anytime a new coach is sign, they should disrupt the settings of Premier league, this is not about Chelsea alone but to set distribution of trophy to other clubs. Premier League is looking like other leagues they do tag as farmers league, there is no competition here like before.

Although I didn't watch the game, but I already knew that they were never the favourites to win. They've been very terrible this season, so winning a cup final is not something to hope for. I kept seeing a lot of replies talking about Chelsea fans complaining about a possible penalty that wasn't awarded. Well, I might have to go and watch a replay, because I know how disappointing it can be when a decision doesn't go in your favour, especially in a desperate moment. Fine, City were unarguably the favourites, but there should be some level of consistency in the officiating. I'm not a Chelsea fan, but I say this because it can literally happen to any club.

Well, congratulations to Manchester city... They've saved football.
I remembered a lot of Chelsea fans who shamelessly said they prefer to lose to Manchester city, so that Arsenal doesn't win the premier league. Well, fast forward to this day, they are left with no choice than to accept a greater defeat that they never wished for.

It seems Chelsea finally woke up to the reality that they need a new manager after losing the FA Cup final to Manchester City.  Looking forward to seeing how Xabi Alonso can change the trajectory of this team. I believe he is a huge step up from Maresca and Potter.

Honestly a huge step up for the club what a move and we have to expect a big change from the players, some will be sold out for better and reliable ones to step in because as we all know, there are some players who doesn't deserve to be at the club. With Alonso as the manager things will start to change for good, although the management could some how continue the way they have been running the club, weak signing and all that, sure hope it doesn't happen that way if not the new manager would not work as he choose to, things about Chelsea will have to be the same way the previous manager left the club. Alonso a not just any how coach but a tested and trusted manager that deserves all the support coming from the managemen to do well, can't wait to see him on the touch line.

The both penalties called to be awarded were not worthy enough  moat especially the first one on Joao Pedro. Apart from that penalty, they found it difficult to score.
The next game they play against Tottenham will be tough on Tuesday night. We're all going to see Tottenham also wining that game against Chelsea. It has shown how backwards they have been this exact season.
Congratulations to Manchester City, they played well and deserved the win, they were obviously the better side who should have claimed that points.

Semenyo's goal secured the championship for Manchester City. Chelsea, who had hopes of winning the FA Cup, were unsuccessful there as well. Manchester City added another trophy to their collection. Now, the Premier League title is next. Of course, to do that, they need to overcome Arsenal and hope that Arsenal drops points.

Truth is, with d previous managers, not much power is given to dem.when it comes to signing. Most of d players were d board decisions, at some point, dey even wanted to buy Christiano Ronaldo 😂😂, that really caused some feud between d.chelsea coach and management back den.

Although, I saw a tweet dat more power will be given to Alonso compared to Chelsea's previous coaches, and dey have also decided to buy a few more experienced and already made players next season, so hopefully, we'll be seeing a much more better Chelsea.

Although, I'll say it isn't even d players, dey were doing well under Maresca, it's d coach, and a bit of injury, but anyways I think these two steps will be a huge improvement for d team overall.

I wouldn't lie, I don't fancy this transfer that much because I think that Chelsea team needs more of an experience coach that has seen it all, than someone like xabi Alonso that is not that experience on the job, though my perception on his tactical capabilities might be wrong, but I would have prefer them to go for a serial winner, than xabi Alonso that is still pretty young in coaching.

Xabi Alonso may actually not be an experience coach but this doesn't mean that he is not good for the Job. The man may change  the club by winning trophy at the end of next season. I believe before they are going for Xabi Alonso to be the new manager of Chelsea they have made some inquiry about his past performance. So I think the man may be good for the Job.

Definitely a Manchester city fan will agree with does refree decision, and Chelsea won’t agree, these referees need to be consistent about their decisions, we have seen this scenario being awarded as penalty especially the one for Hato. Well when such decisions is not against you it remains the right decision for you.

It a good outing from both clubs, they really played well and both teams played like their life’s depended on it. It a good one, with this win now Manchester city have now won 2 domestic trophy this season, they could complete a domestic Treble if Arsenal fails to win the league.

Just few minutes after the game chelsea announced that Xabi Alonso will be their new head coach for next season, I just hope this time around they stick to him for a long time.
