The UK officially committed to stopping the imports of Russian oil and gas by the end of 2022, but that, of course, doesn't mean that it followed through. That being said, I don't see any credible articles that claim that the UK is still importing Russian oil as of Q2, 2023. And there is information that they're no longer doing that.

Sanctions have worked to an extent, but I don't believe sanctions can make Russia stop the war. This looks like a war in that the ego plays a very big role. Neither Russia nor Ukraine nor NATO would want to agree that they've been defeated.
