There’s no such thing as free money on airdrop especially if the amount involved is surreal. On your screenshot, you received approximately 500USD without any effort to claim it while legit airdrop needs participantion in both investments and time to use the networks before they gave you an airdrop.

Do you check already the smart contract of this token. You will notice if this token is legit or not if there a buy and sell transaction on the DEX it was listed and the smart contract has a lot of transaction history including the recent one.

Just cancel it, that's an old school thing to scam someone. Saying you're not into airdrops yet you've been named as an active user is likely the biggest lie you've received. That may be a few dollars to receive something huge but you'll just be deceive thinking you'll get it but you will not.

Getting a random message from unknown user in telegram or whatever social media is with 99.9% certainty a scam. Some times someone wants to talk to you about the specific thing you said in the channel, but these chats are never about giving or sending money/airdrops.

When the message says confirm, or you need to click any kind of link or "send eth to:" like this one does, it's a 100% scam. Not even a good scam. But apparently people still fall for them, which is the main reason these still keep happening.

Usually for an airdrop, the coin company spends the transaction fees and not the receivers. So I am 100% sure it's a scam and pretty common one. If some company is so great enough to give you a free $500, they would have money to cover the transaction cost.

Just delete the telegram channel or block it completely. Otherwise they will keep annoying you and might send some malicious things to your telegram ID. So better not to involve in any communication.

I've heard of that project before but no idea where they are right now. And if it's from Telegram that suddenly tries to give you money for free, that's the sign of being a red flag already.

Whether it's sweat coin or bitcoin that they're going to give you as an airdrop. Do not believe them because worse might come to you when you're greedy and they give them to you the instructions on what you must do in claiming it.

This is a scam attempt because no legit airdrop will ask you to pay certain fees into a wallet just like demanded in the screenshots you shared,  and this is already a known scam in the airdrop market where scammers promise huge airdrop reward balance and displaying a fake valence on the airdrop page as rewards but the bounty hunter will need to pay certain fees in Ethereum, sometimes they call the fees as a gas fee to send the airdrop rewards to you.

But the real intention is to take the fees and walk away without any form of rewards or contact with the victim,  so you have to avoid such airdrop.

Scam any airdrops you are being asked to send fee is automatically scam and you need to delete and report that bot before more people would fall victim of that scam. Normally i don't allow something like this as is another ugly way to trapped participants, sometimes after sending that required amount they would still request for addition payment that gas fee isn't enough to cover the transaction fees and the next you could see is failed in transaction try increase your gas fees to be able to withdraw your coin and swap instantly at exchange. Actually that coin could be real but they are only impersonate that project by running a fake airdrops.

I don't think this one is real. Personally, from experience, I don't like involving myself in airdrops from telegram groups , 99.9% of them also turn out to be fake and dubious.

I agree with you totally. These days most airdrops come as a result of performing tasks, using their testnet or swapping the token, or by holding certain tokens. It doesn't just fall from the sky, sacrifices must be made.

Sweat coin is not currently doing any activity related to an airdrop as far as I know. They only had an activity prior to their public launch where users gets rewarded in sweat coins depending on the amount of steps they make in a period of time. That was before their partnership with NEAR protocol. So if you're being told you're eligible, you are not. You're most likely going to expose your wallet to a drainer if the scam message needs you to submit your signature or sign a transaction.

I wouldn't touch the link with a 10th foot pole if I were you.

Yeah, and you better remain that way because 90% of telegram deals are all scams so you must have to protect yourself against that,  and more also,  bounty and airdrops are mostly scams and at that, you should avoid engaging in them excessively.

Like the one ops share is a total scam and the aim is to swindle them of the fees the scammers are asking for,  because experience from past events has made most of us open to seeing red flags faster than any other person and it is hard for a scammer to escape our eagle eyes since we are constantly looking out for such attempts.

I agree with you totally. These days most airdrops come as a result of performing tasks, using their testnet or swapping the token, or by holding certain tokens. It doesn't just fall from the sky, sacrifices must be made.

This is entirely not true, as most of these scam airdrops are swappable to some point, and even if you scan their smart contract, you will see the dex option, which shows that there is swapping going on on that coin or token. But when you look at those executed trades, you will notice two things. Either the trading is just conducted by a few whitelisted addresses, which will probably belong to the team, or the airdropper is only allowed to swap 0.1%–1% of their total holdings. This number depends on the airdrop, which is why if you try to swap such a small amount, you will have to spend more than what the token cost you as a transaction fee, starting from the approval page to that of transaction confirmation, with slippage up to 12%, leaving the victims with nothing to go home with.

So checking the smart contract alone is not enough to prove if the token is real or not. Scammers are becoming smarter every day, and sometimes all they need is for you to click on their dex or Web3 dapp, which they will ask you to use in swapping your reward.

You have to confirm everything first to the https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/sweat-economy community if they are doing an airdrop and if this is the real sweatcoin that you are interacting also check the other's experience do not be in a hurry to connect your wallet, airdrop bot are notorious in scamming people they know how greedy some people are and they are fast to take action on airdrop than doubting and asking the community first, you have done the right thing posting it so people will be aware of this.

I also received an airdrop they are being traded on Gecko terminal but based on what others are saying on that airdrop the contract is configured in a way that you cannot trade all of it and my trying to trade all of it you will have to spend huge fee for that transaction this is a new scheme of scammers.

That's not how token airdrops work. This is the most obvious scam attempt. They send thousand of people to this same message and asking for a small amount, you don't believe how many of people fall for this scam. Obviously, such scam attempts are very common in Telegram, same with Twitter and Discord. Don't click anywhere you see suspicious and don't send money to anyone. Even the official accounts of the projects can be hacked and send such announcements. You should also pay attention to them.

I don't think this one is real. Personally, from experience, I don't like involving myself in airdrops from telegram groups , 99.9% of them also turn out to be fake and dubious.

You're right, only a newbie will take airdrops on telegram groups serious. You register and when you are done, they ask for you to send usdt to a certain wallet so they can send your rewards. Only a fool will be gullible enough to fall for their gimmick.

Do you check already the smart contract of this token. You will notice if this token is legit or not if there a buy and sell transaction on the DEX it was listed and the smart contract has a lot of transaction history including the recent one.

Of what use is having a token in your wallet that you can not swap? Is it not fraudulent to send someone a token that you know can never be swapped because of the way and manner the smart contract has been configured.

So,.you saying it's not entirely true probably means you have been to benefit from airdrops on telegram groups, but for me, I have never been able to do so, and that's why I said they are mostly scam and dubious.

From my own experience this is totally a scam because I encountered this scam. No one wants to pay someone without working and it's just airdrop paying 600+ dollars for it is a little surprising. It just deducts your fee when doing the exchange. If you block these Telegram channels then they can't bother you anymore.

You don't have to pay for receiving airdrops afaik. Most likely a scam. In the first place I highly doubt the said coin here has the same value as the amount they're requesting you, regardless of it's quantity. 0 x to whatever number is still 0 after all. You'd mostly want an airdop in the first place from groups or threads that a lot of people are participating in, where the coin details and airdrop results are publicly shown, not like this where it was randomly messaged to you, especially by a bot.

It seems you misunderstood the whole explanation above, as I never said it was a good thing for you to have a token that you cannot trade in your wallet, nor should it be considered something good to send someone a token that cannot be swapped. My explanation above purportedly points out that Checking the smart contract alone to see if there is a buy and sell transaction is not enough to determine if the token is a scam or not; one should go deeper in research than just relaying on the information gotten from the contract address. Where did you read me say, It's good to have tokens that can't be traded in your wallet ?

So,.you saying it's not entirely true probably
I'm saying the way and manner you guys use in identifying airdrops that are scams are not entirely the safest.

How do you extract such meaning from my statement, and what does benefiting or not benefiting from airdrops have to do with my statement?

I must have misunderstood your point altogether. I thought you were responding to the fact that I said that airdrops on telegram are mostly fake, but going back to check, I can see that you where actually responding to to guy who said the OP should check for buying/selling function on the smart contract.
Anyway, sorry if I wrong you, was never intended. Peace.
