In today's Super Four Asia Cup match, Bangladesh lost 2 wickets at the beginning of the power play. Having lost 2 wickets, Bangladesh is now under a lot of pressure. 2 such teams participated in today's match, both teams are very popular to me. Still, being a resident of Bangladesh, I started enjoying today's match with the support of Bangladesh. Although I know that Bangladesh will not be able to perform very well against Pakistan in today's match, I am sitting in front of the TV screen with the support of Bangladesh in today's match. Let's hope to see the victory of Bangladesh. At the moment, Bangladesh's team runs 32 with the loss of 2 wickets in 5.3 overs.

Some time ago, Bangladesh has started their innings and decide to batting first. At this moment, Bangladesh team scored 150 run in 29.5 over with lost of 5 wickets and still 20 over remaining. The current batsmen at the field are M. Rahim and S. Hossain. M. Rahim performance has been quite impressive and he scored 50 run in 74 balls. Currently, Bangladesh is also under a lot of pressure and they will need to play very carefully. Pakistan bowling performance great by Haris Rauf has been praiseworthy. H. It won't be easy to conclude which team will win the match. I am supporting Pakistan because they have two best fast bowlers and a good middle order. Things not looking good for Bangladesh and you are correct both teams are unpredictable. For now after watching Bangladesh batting and the current run rate which is below 5, I feel they won't be able to give a target beyond 250 runs. They have lost 5 wickets and they have already batted 34 overs. To increase the run rate they will start agressive batting after 36th over and they would lose wickets. If the tail enders can form a partnership and go after lose ball then they might have a chance to give good target to Pakistan. For now it is simply a prediction. You are also correct Pakistani middle order is good, again they are unpredictable and the condition for now suits bowler. I think it might worsen when Pakistan comes out to bat.

My prediction Pakistan team will win this match. But cricket is always unpredictable. So.we have to wait for result what will happen. But a thinking my prediction Pakistan will win in this match. Because Pakistan cricket team batting line is very Strong and 194 runs will too easy for Pakistan.

Looking at the batting line of Bangladesh in today's match, it felt like a local cricket match in the area. Bangladesh's innings remained below 200 runs today as Bangladesh's only batsman Nazmul Hasan Shanto' is not in team. Mehdi Hasan Miraj, who scored a century in the team's opening, today got out for zero runs and left the team in the face of disaster. Although Shakib Al Hasan was able to save Bangladesh from a little disaster but unfortunately Shakib Al Hasan could not extend the innings too far. Mushfiqur Rahim, however, managed to score the most runs in this case, but while making a wrong shot, he was dismissed cut behind by wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan. However, the lower order batsmen of Bangladesh were all out after collecting only 3 runs and ended the innings within 193 runs.

Overall, I also believe in the old school of thought, where bowler's main job is to win matches with the ball and they shouldn't be blamed at all if they fail to score runs.

Having said that, in modern cricket, dynamics have changed and new realities demand one extra skill from each player. For example; We expect WK to be good with the bat, previously that wasn't the case. Similarly, Bowlers need to pick up another skill as well. No one asking them to bat like a top order but they should be capable enough to strike a ball or at least rotate a strike.

Another fine example is look at the Indian WC squad. Chahal is a fine wrist spinner in White ball cricket but he didn't make it into the squad. On the other hand, Shardul (alright bowler/golden arm) and Axar (above average) got in because they know how to bat.

*Not bringing part time bowling skills from the specialist batters in this discussion atm, which is also very important.

I am not sure whether this is an apple to apple comparison. Shardul is in the team primarily because he is a good bowler. When we compare Shardul's bowling with that of Prasidh Krishna or Arshdeep Singh, he would rank at the same level, or even higher. And then he is a much better batsmen compared to either of these two, and as a result of that gets selected as the first preference. Axar is also in the same category, when we compare him with Chahal or Washington Sundar. Afghanistan doesn't have that luxury. For them, Mujeeb is one of the backbones of spin bowling. Other options such as Qais Ahmad and Izharulhaq Naveed are either at the same level in batting, or even worse. And the same argument goes for Fazalhaq Farooqi. He is not a worse batsmen, when compared to Naveen-ul-Haq or Yamin Ahmadzai.

I understand where you are coming from and that's exactly i mentioned white ball cricket. Your opinion might be clouded by their performance in red ball cricket where both of these guys (Shardul and Axar) won matches for India (if we go by our test cricket discussion, you don't consider them talented enough). My opinion of them is bit nuance and based on merits and format.

Shardul- In the away test he's the possibly best all-rounder for India after Pandya when it comes to seam wicket (SENA). Although if it's up to me then i'd still prefer Ashwin overall because he's the best off spinner in this decade and if i dare to say then maybe cricket history (it's justthat leggies are more celebrated and hyped because they are hard to develop). I might sound biased when bringing Ashwin here but at the same i am also biased for Shardul when it comes to test cricket. In ODI Thakur is handy with both ball and bat. I respect him a lot not because of his talent but his attitude of "never back down". He's literally our workhorse and not to mention our golden arm, he does unexpected things hence the tag of Lord Thakur.

Axar - He singlehandedly won a series, more importantly, broke the morale of the English team in their last tour of India and bailed out with the bat India plenty of times in his limited test career. In white ball cricket, he's a handy cricketer and he can win you matches with the bat if there is a tough situation but you have to remember he's a Jadeja like to like replacement in every format. Both of these guys bring almost similar skills to the table.

Chahal He's liability on field and we are virtually fielding 10 members playing XI when it comes to batting but he's a genuine wicket taker in white ball cricket. You mix him up with the Kuldeep and you have a perfect spin combination in the middle overs when you are bowling. This kulcha combination won us plenty of matches but they failed in the Champions Trophy final and everything changed for both of them.

Tldr : In white ball cricket Chahal is far superior bowler but a liability in batting and fielding, hence he's out.

I thinking totally different, even if there was 300 target , Pakistani batsmen would have chased it. Pakistan win this match comfortably because bowlers did a very good job. only senior players Mushfiqur and Shakib able to make fifty and other all not able to face pak bowling attack. Pakistan lost two wickets on 74 but later Rizwan and Imam partnership help to chase this small target easily. If score more than 250 than batting style would also be different like we seen against Nepal. Rizwan love to play aggressive and still Shadab, Iftikhar and Faheem left.

The first super four match, Pakistan did a well job and win with good Margin. They could win in 30 overs but They didn't took a risk and just settled with one and two. Bangladesh will face Srilanka on 9th September and should prepare well to win the match if they want to win this CUP.

The batsmen of Bangladesh did not do well against Pakistan in the first match of the Super Four. If Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim had not made a 100-run partnership in the middle order, Bangladesh's score might have been much lower.

As a good partnership was formed naturally Bangladesh again tried to be optimistic but Shakib had to go back in the next ball and from then the wickets started to fall again. Shamim Hossain and Afif Hossain showed some hope in the match but they too could not stay on the pitch for long. As a result, Bangladesh has to finish its game quickly. There was no hope of winning the match by collecting their total and there was no change in what actually predicted.

This was absolutely trash performance from Bangladesh. And the Bangladesh cricket team has played throughout so many years and has brought in so many new players and still Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim are the players who have two carry Bangladesh on their backs. Literally nobody except for those to put on a good score.

The bowling line-up from Pakistan is exceptional and it is known to the world. In today's match it was Harish Rauf (4/19) and Naseem Shah(3/34) who took the majority of the wickets. Bangladesh had a good partnership from the loss of early wickets 47/4 and a hundred runs partnership for the fifth wicket. When they've got more overs to go, Shakib Al Hasan could've played slowly than going for big shots. This is where the team once again started to loss wickets and ended the innings in less than 40 overs.

One by one everyone got out and finally all out by scoring 193 runs. Bangladesh still has a chance to play in the final, Bangladesh has to win the next two matches. The next two matches are do or die matches for Bangladesh. I think Pakistan and India will play this year's Asia Cup final.
