Tbh, nothing much to analyze, it was just pure domination and humiliation. Pakbros need to keep their heads up and move on to the next match as it's a long tournament.

I feel Rohit doesn't have a lot of confidence on Thakur when it comes to bowling. He is a bowler who is expensive but has the knack of taking wickets. He has been selected in the team primarily because he is an all rounder. Yesterday India didn't require his service as the other bowlers were sufficient to get the Pakistani batters.

BTW, I just saw PM Modi congratulating the Indian team on another historic win against Pakistan. He also declared that India would do anything possible to host the 2036 summer Olympics.

I'd argue that Skipper and management trust Thakur that's why he's in the squad and featuring in the playing XI every now n then, whenever conditions are not spin friendly.

Pakistani inning got over too early so it was obvious some bowler would under bowl and when your main bowlers are doing an exceptional job then you really don't need him as his main job is to fill up a quota of bowling like a dedicated workhorse and if given a chance then make some useful runs with the bat down the order.

Another match in the 2023 World Cup is going to be a one-sided victory. The opponents of today's World Cup match are former World Cup winners England and Afghanistan. England have won one of their first two matches and lost one by a big margin and today is their third match. On the other hand, Afghanistan lost the first two matches by huge margins so today is their comeback match. If England win the toss and decide to bat against Afghanistan, England can score 330 to 350 plus runs, which is never possible for Afghanistan. Looking at Afghanistan's batting today, it seems that they can score 350+ plus runs easily, England's bowlers have not taken any wickets of Afghanistan so far. It is a good strategy bythe English team. Delhi pitch is batter friendly and England has a bad net run rate on the points table. If they want to improve it they need to chase the target. Afghanistan doesn't have a good bowling attack, whereas England has a good batting attack. They choose to bowl first because they would like to chase a target in before a certain amount of overs to improve their net run rate and ranking on the point table.

Current situation shows Afghanistan doing better than expected. It is early to come to any conclusion before the 25th overs starts. Afghanistan has already lost 2 wickets in quick succession. A target of less than 200 is what the English team would be looking towards.

But their main problem is that there is no consistency in the performance of the players. They are also not able to bat responsibly. After scoring 110+ runs in the first wicket pair, the team suddenly lost several wickets. The way they started the innings today, I thought they would give a target of 300+.
Afghanistan collected 207 runs in 39 overs. They lost 6 wickets. Rashid Khan and Ikram are batting now. It seems that the team will be able to deliver a target of 260-280. It was not enough to win against England.

Adil Rashid, Livingstone and Wood bowled well today. Adil Rashid took two wickets with 38 runs in 9 overs. The pitch is spin friendly. Afghanistan's bowlers have a chance to do well. England's batsmen have to play very carefully against Rashid Khan.

Kotla is high scoring ground so obvisouly England did a fairly good job, which was expected. Having said that Afgans were not bad either, they did remarkable job in powerplay and they were punishing every bad ball.

Mini collapse is understable, considering they hardly play ODI and inexperienced in this format but overall satisfactory performance with the bat as its their highest total in ODI format (if i'm not wrong). Poms are clear fav but i would love to see some magic from Afghan spin trio.

The Afghanistan team gave a target of 285, which is a very high and good target. In this innings, we see that it is similar to Pakistan's previous match because if you see that first Afghanistan played very well and suddenly one player of Afghanistan was out and then all the team went out, and this same thing occurred in yesterday match when Babar Azam out then all team out but, Afghanistan team reached a very good target and Pakistan didn’t reach a good target but, this is not a match of Pakistan, so we need to talk about today’s match Afghanistan vs England. I think that Ben Stokes can do something for their team to reach the target, if he bats longer and take his team towards the target.

It seems like it was not a good idea indeed. Afghanistan managed to post a good total on the board. Chris Woakes and Sam Curran were too expensive against Afghanistan batters! I am not sure if England take them lightly. Afghans' batting lineup is not that strong to score that many runs against a world-class bowling lineup.

Well, I think the upset is loading.

England is 117/5, and they need another 168 runs to win the match. Harry Brook looks in good touch, and so does Rashid Khan. So far so good for Afghanistan; all the bowling changes worked for them. England batters are now under pressure. Afghanistan will try to put more pressure on both ends.

Till now, Afghanistan have won their only World Cup match in 2015, against Scotland, 8 years ago.

I thought this is going to be an easy win for England but here is the surprise, ENG needs 150 runs more with 5 wickets in hand but the only x factor is even the number 10 batsman can score 50 in the squad so that could be their only hope.

I see some drastic change in the pitch during second inning, especially variation in the bounces which took the wicket of Joe root.

Can this be the first upset of this tournament?

OZ will be praying for that to happen.
