Is anyone here actually gambling on horse racing?

Never enjoyed betting on any games that is termed cruel. You van search the internet and you find the cruelty of horse racing. Both the jockey and the horse are at great risk of getting injured while racing. There have been incidents reported in the media where these young colt have died due to racing. In such situation how can anyone bet on such a game. It is far better to bet on sports like football and others. It's is nothing but my choice that I avoid gambling in such games.

It depends as there are many people who love horse racing and they even more love the cruelty of this sport.
Also in the modern day, we don't see any such bad incidents but of course, many incidents are not brought up in the public.

I would say that if you do not watch any sports whether it is horse racing or any other, better avoid betting on it. Betting should be done where you know fully about the sport and hence you can use your knowledge to place more competitive bets.

I never understood horse racing. It always felt very risky to me although by any chance if you hit the winning horse then you win a lot.

Isn't that what pure gambling is about? I like it when there are so many variables there is sometimes like littery nothing to do and just go with your guts!

May be it is but I need at least some calculated risk there to feel a bit good about the bet I placed. Although the day I am not lucky nothing works. For example yesterday luck was supper bad and I lost a good amount of money [I usually is very patience when I gamble but when I lose patience because of few constitutive lost bets, then I end up losing a good amount because I starts to increase stake]

I get it now, so you gamble with targets,  I only bet for the fun of it, if the coming festival has nothing interesting in it I might not put down a single bet, and at the same time if I see some seller race or class 5 has some horse named "Bitcoin something" I must bet on it, although the last one is 0 out of 5 and I know he will finish last out of 20. I just have a limit on how much I bet a month, never cross that even if I'm well in profit, but as I said If I don't think I can enjoy the race I'm not putting one cent on it.

That's probably the reason I would love to see discussions on racing around here, for me it's the atmosphere that matters more than the final result.

ps. Longchamp just finished, two wins, one at 1/4 odds (yup I made $1.25 on a $5 bet...looool) and another each way at 6/1, 13 lost, and my biggest disappointment is that I haven't managed to watch the damn races live!!! I don't even feel like checking how close I was.

You could try your idea though it's tough to tell whether it would be successful or not. Trial and error basically. You should ask the peakies for some advice .

If you look at horse racing odds at sportbooks you will see them moving very quickly usually while the race didn't even start, I guess it's because bookmakers are taking into account odds from parimutuel local pools in order to calculate their own odds since horse racing is traditionally a sport using parimutuel national pools for betting. But quick changes in odds is not suitable for exchange betting unfortunately.

Another yes. Clicking a few links and reading a few lines of text about the game will be enough of an incentive for those who are looking to get the prize money. It may not be a 100% certainty that people will be winning though, but taking chances is what gamblers do anyway. Plus, the requirements are pretty easy.

Yup, I need to plan it nicely, make it easy to enter, and at the same time force the participants to at least know how many legs a horse has!
And, yeah, somebody will be winning definitely, even if nobody manages to get any race winner I will still hand the prize to the guy that got closest to something, like one that managed to choose a horse that got at least second or third. I need to think about this!

What you'll be doing is something beneficial to the supporters or horse racing. I'm not sure whether people will be genuinely interested given that the only reason they will be joining is the prize money. It might force them to do a little bit of research and perhaps watch a few races, but after all is said and done, I don't know if they'll stick around. There aren't a lot of platforms around that post lines for horse racing so they might not follow the sport very closely.

This could be the best reason, many site are not focusing in horse racing for some reason since this is very traditional and maybe they still have no partnership with the local operator and they can't just get the odds for the horse racing. The interest of the gamblers will always depend on the feature available in one site so if the gamblers prefers to gamble with other games then it will be the trend. Local gambling operator in my place still have this horse racing betting, I think its more popular to the oldies.

Horse racing is pretty popular if you’ll ask me. It’s just that there’s little to cover about it that’s causing it to not get so much notice as other sports do. Like we can talk about how Kevin Durant passes, how Rafael Nadal smashes, and every other A-list athlete for that matter but we’re going to run out of things to talk about Horseback racing. I see thousands of posts about football, a few hundred about other sports, and the rest are just almost non-existent. I'm a gambler myself but I stopped a while ago betting on soccer, all the Nxx in American sports and I'm just betting now and then on horse racing, from one penny at a time to some larger sums in case of a grade 1 event or festival.
But here it seems like there is little interest in this, is that because horse racing is just unpopular or is it because, well,.... the casinos that sponsor most signatures here are not promoting it? So no post quota to make?   My old local gambling forum that covered this is also near death, I'm sitting in the sun 8 hours a day boring myself to death, so here comes feedback next part :

It is most likely both, the gambling market on Football is very big and so is its audience, so it is no wonder sportsbooks would prioritise marketing Football over horse racing.

That 1-2mbtc is enough to feed a family of 4 for 1 week or more(at least in my country), so it is probably worth enough to spend some time to take a look at what horses are running and what their time form is.

Well, I personally have known about horse racing for ages now, or should I say for as long as, or even before I started gambling, horse race is a very popular form of sports which gamblers bet on here in my country, we have a lot of local online and offline casinos that offer the ability to bet on international horse racing tournament, and not just horse racing but also dog racing as well ..

100% wrong. Horse betting will always be popular in certain countries such as Hong Kong, UK etc where crypto payment methods are being used along with the traditional FIAT payment methods.

If we are to look at the population today and the rate that people participate in sporting activities, horse race is far away from the first ten most preferred choice where we have football, basketball, boxing, golf, car race, marathon race, tennis and many more before you could think about horse race, which implies that it has low numbers of spectators or fans interested in playing or watching it, also we can consider the sport as an olden days sport event before now that many things have changed.
