First of all, this will be more suitable in a Gambling section not in Bitcoin Discussion. And I think you need to understand that gambling is an entertainment, after all it's designed for you to spend money on it, not to earn more money, what you get is a satisfaction of winning, but in general you will lose money more than you earn.

Between Bitcoin trading and Bitcoin gambling, I would suggest that you focus your activity on Bitcoin trading.  Gambling although entertaining have high risk of losing.  Besides, between the two Bitcoin trading strategy is way more effective to have a positive result than any gambling strategy.  If you are able to understand the market movement, you will be able to predict the price movement and may take advantage profiting from it.  Unlike in gambling where you can learn the mechanics of the game but cannot take advantage of the knowledge because the result of gambling is random.  It does not follow any certain pattern or any fundamentals that will give us a hint on the next result of our wager.

And OP should learn the advice in this reply, if you have a gambling addiction Bitcoin Trading would be the closer feeling you get to the satisfaction when you win some bet, and it is driven by market not controlled by the casino house. It can be learnt, not just relying on some luck.

Actually I didn't get your question properly. Did you ask about something like that what should you choose  between   gambling or Bitcoin ?
If the question is actually like this,  then I will say  there is something wrong on your question. Because trading and gambling are not the same thing.
 But trading can be also a kind of gambling when one person  jump into trading without any knowledge,  like as fundamental knowledge,  technical knowledge. And gambling should never be a source of  earning,  it should be used for only entertainment purpose,  otherwise it can take you to the street. So the decision is yours,  what should for what need you to take. 

I think @OP is giving a piece of advice and giving an example between trading and gambling. @OP wanted to tell us to do trading instead of gambling because trading can give more benefits thang gambling Bitcoin.  As for his example, we see that he stated that in Trading he profited but in gambling he lost some amount.  That is what I understand from what @OP stated. Even the poll  asked whether he give a good advice or others have better advice.

Actually gambling happens in everyones life, I used to gamble much, I used to lose money because of gambling (even though I won several pretty good bets, the overall balance is most probably around zero). As for BTC and gambling, the same features of gambling are present in cryptogambling market. Moreover, cryptotrading can be considered gambling as well, since its a rare luck to get short-term profit out of a crypto deal, especially if the amount of money in possession is not so large. So, in general, long-term hodling is the best investment strategy in cryptomarket... Actually, I'd rather not call it investment, it's more like just buying a valuable asset.

This kind of discussion has been here and has been a debate, you can't compare gambling to trading as always because these two things have different effects on us.  Gambling is based on luck that you may enjoy but in trading that could stress out your day but if you have knowledge of it it's possible you will earn.

Also, learn how to invest and prepare your investment plan.
Because trading and gambling isn't the perfect option for people that didn't have enough knowledge of them and the best option will be the side on investment in the long term.

I would say that gambling also benefits Bitcoin because it attracted big gamblers to gamble with Bitcoin without knowing their identity. So it feels like it's way too good than to use physical gambling. However, gambling is not a guarantee to earn money especially if you're new. You know that gambling is different from trading. If you're here in crypto to earn money, I would definitely go with trading but before that, I just wanna tell you that it is not easy as you think. So don't ever trade if you don't have trading plan and always follow your risk management to avoid unexpected losses.

OP, congrats on making $10 profit on your first trade. OP you said you don't know how to gamble, you shouldn't be gambling. Although gambling depends on luck, you will also stay away from gambling. As you said you gained $10, you lost $11 by gambling. At the end of the day, you lost $1. If you have enough knowledge and good talent to trade then keep trading. If you want you can buy bitcoins and hold them for long term. Future may be positive for you, you may get a lot of profit. Since you have been able to make a profit trading bitcoins, I think it is not a good sign for you to ever gamble. If you lose your halves by gambling then of course you can never get them back, then it would be better for you to quit gambling. Gambling is not for everyone, so maybe gambling is not good for you so if you deposit money in gambling then surely there is maximum chance of losing it. Actually there is nothing wrong with what you are doing, because you are capable and able to make money with $100 in capital through Bitcoin trading, which means Bitcoin can be your next concern and for your own future. Now, regarding gambling which may have become an addiction for you, actually the rather ridiculous thing is that the addiction is not about you playing and not winning or losing by spending $11.

Or buy 100 usd worth of btc 50 weeks in a for hold it and do nothing else.

OP, you can constantly gain new experiences from coins and learn new content. It's great that you've had a positive experience with Bitcoin trading and a negative one with gambling. People who don't want to get involved in gambling can get profit by trading bitcoin but should get more in depth knowledge about bitcoin trading then trading. If you have just made a profit from trading then feel that it will remain consistent every time you make a purchase and gain passive profits.
