As they said, it will depend upon us how we're willing to learn in trading because there are some traders to spend several months to years learning and practicing before consistently making profits.  Some traders might become profitable in a few months and could be others may take several years, it's not the same as we may experience.  So, it possibly largely depends on how quickly someone grasps trading concepts and develops their skills.

There's no shortcut to learning trading and I think it isn't a good idea if you are in a hurry.
Based on my own experience, it took several years before I stepped into trading but it doesn't mean I consistently earn profit.  Sometimes we need to face losses to gain experience, the truth is, trading doesn't mean always making a profit.

I spoke to a tutor who teaches trading, and he said for his lectures, he teaches for an extended period of nine months for anyone who wants to learn trading from him. Please I like to read the personal experience of some traders here, how long did it take you to learn to trade profitably, and what was the hardest thing to learn? did it take you weeks, months or years? Do you think that trading can be learnt well in a short time like three weeks for a quick trader? Can someone who is a proffesional trader just go straight to the point pointing out what is needed to make a successful trader to a newbie to learn quickly?
It is not possible to learn how to trade in a matter of weeks as you want, but this has nothing to do with your intelligence or skills, what you need to understand is that trading is not only learned theoretically, you also need to practice it, and just like riding a bicycle you are going to hit the ground several times before you learn how to keep yourself out of it.

So even if you could understand every single piece of information that is presented you, you will still need months of practice before you are ready to trade for real.

It all depends on how quickly you can understand and absorb trading knowledge and also the best way to discover and learn all about trading, you can also explore the internet. And you will find various sources to learn crypto trading and it also depends on your efforts and hard work, and make sure you get it from the most trusted and best sources.
And the best option to learn long-term trading is the best, or at least 3 - 4 months. If it is less than that, you will be more at risk. Trading is not an easy job, and really requires sufficient knowledge, experience and understanding because all of this cannot be obtained in a short time.

I don't think we should learn trading quickly or use any shortcut to learn trading. A minimum of 3 months need to be spent learning how to trade but this doesn't mean after the three months that you'll become a professional.. you'll still need more time if you don't fully understand trading but a three months learning period should give you enough understanding of the market to start trading. After learning you'll need some weeks of practice untill you have perfected a trading strategy.

Learning in trading doesn't end as you'll have to keep learning everyday but after learning the basic things to do, you can start trading. The learning period also depends on the teacher skills on teaching for a student to understand and the student understanding speed but we shouldn't be in a hurry to complete our trading lessons.

Learning can take up to years sometimes, if you are a newbie and you had started from the very start, without a single piece of knowledge about trading. Although I have seen some of my friends who had a decent portfolio and were given time to learn trading strategies, they learned in just a few months. But the problem is, if a person is going inside the trading, there will be some harsh and hard situations sometimes, so he needs to be calm and have to be patience to deal with it.

But for learning trading strategies, a person should not have to use quick ways, I mean by quick ways that he should not use shortcuts. even he should take much time to make himself a professional trader but use better ways instead of shortcuts.

I learn trading myself and it took me some days, but I lost money to trading very well. I learn more and more and now better than before and it takes me more than a year.

One thing I know about trading is to never use the amount of money that you can not afford to lose to trade.

I don't know why this is sounding funny to me when I am supposed to sympathize with you for losing your money  Grin

But on a serious note, how will you not expect to lose money when you refused to get yourself a mentor? We are actually in a digital world where we can use our smart phone or pc to learn by watching tutorial videos and reading some related books on trading but you still need a physical teacher to put you through in some aspects. I ever try it before but everything went left and no one told me to look for a mentor before I attached myself to one. It wouldn't have taken you this long if you have been under a tutor from the beginning and even you lost would have been a little.

To OP, Learning trading has no specific period of time assigned for it. Firstly, it depends on how fast you can learn what you are being taught and secondly is how well your teacher wants to teach you. Some tutors prefer slow teaching no matter how smart the student is. But what matters after all is what or how well you can do after the learning no matter the duration. Don't be in haste, pay attention and focus, for one thing is assured, you can not learn it all from your tutor. You learn the rest and continue to discover some tactics in the process of practicing after learning.

How is it funny to you? Or if something bad happens to someone seem to be funny to you? You need to read what you post again.

Trading is more than having a mentor, it is about you having discipline and not trading with high amount of money. If you think you can have a mentor and you never lose, you are deceiving yourself because it is not possible. Newbie traders will experience some losses and have more experience in trading and he will naturally develop strategies to avoid losses.

It can be said that trading is very complex, not just adrift in just one aspect and every trader will have their own path and way.
Profits and losses will also be different. Even someone takes years to be able to understand trading and dare to do real trading.
Trial and error is really needed to know how far we can trade using technical and fundamental analysis.

Those who choose shortcuts or rush usually take advantage of free or premium signals, or the easiest nowadays is to use Trading Bots.
There is nothing wrong with using the help of signals and bots, but when the experience and knowledge of trading are still not qualified,
it will not guarantee profits because, in terms of trading psychology, they are still untrained and also lack of experience.

Learning depends on your willingness to learn since there are people just say that they are interested but it didn't convert to the action they do so most provably it take time for this people to learn trading since they are not actually committed because maybe they are only up for the money and doesn't like to undergo some confusing process. But if they are willing to learn and everyday they try to learn a lot of information coming from many sources then provably they can learn this in short period of time. We shouldn't forget that even though we already know how to trade its really better to learn from any experiences that we can pick up while trading since if we are open on new things that come especially those we didn't face yet for sure we can possibly became more better trader.

Personally I wouldn't put a timeframe because we learn things differently, pick on concepts differently and partly if the interest in trading has been there it's easy to catch on unlike for someone that has never heard of trading and has to deal the fear of it.
But if we are to put a timeframe, 3months to a year should give you enough knowledge to read chart's, interpret them and excited trades.

I spoke to a tutor who teaches trading, and he said for his lectures, he teaches for an extended period of nine months for anyone who wants to learn trading from him.
His time frame is fair enough because he has to teach and students has to prove to him that they have understood whatever was been mentored to them.

Please I like to read the personal experience of some traders here, how long did it take you to learn to trade profitably,
I would say am still learning as there is always something new to learn
Quote
and what was the hardest thing to learn?
the hardest  is mastering emotional control and learning to sit on your hands to to enter trades because you think a nice setup as presented itself.

This does not depend on how long a person can master trading analysis but on how much he can learn and understand. It could be that someone has a quick understanding of trading analysis but it could be that someone can't understand it.

You can become a trader in no time, but you have to learn a lot, which will confuse you. It's better to learn gradually and slowly until you really understand. There is nothing to chase in learning trading; learning trading means you keep learning and don't stop because the market always changes.

What someone needs to be a successful trader is the desire to learn, not give up because they fail, learn from many sources, have self-control in trading, not be greedy, be able to adapt to whatever circumstances occur in the market, and many others.

You should learn on your own and read and watch videos about trading until you can understand it. If you learn from a mentor, that means you are required to be able to understand what he teaches within a certain time. If you can't, you will miss out and get nothing. If you study alone, you can determine what you want to learn.

There is measure to how people understood learning a new thing, some trainees understand everything in all the stages, from beginning to the middle and the end, some find it hard in the early stage but towards the middle and the end, they understand better; some people might not understand anything until the toward the end and there are even some that might not get it in the training until they repeat it on their own, so I think there is a reason why your tutor said 9 months. The syllabus might also be broad too.

For trading, I don't think you will understand everything you learn from trading while learning, just as I said earlier, there are some experience that will not come when you are learning trading, they come during your personal trading journey, there are even some trading secret he has experience but wouldn't want to share it with you guys. So, just make sure you learn what is needed, from there you can learn to be own your own.

learning trading depends upon the teachers course duration and dedication of students. Some teachers skip some topics and three months enough to learn all basic and advance level trading skills while some teachers course are length and took more than 9 months. Further It also depends how our ability to pickup these lessons. Normally I think 4 months is enough to learn before start and then it could take 4 months more when we do trading practically. O personally took an year before I feel confident about trading.

The hardest thing is to control the emotion and maintaining discipline while trading. greed and panic could change our trading strategies and we will forget what we learned. I will say that passion and risk management is key which took lot of time and only learned through practical trading. some people will say that they learned in three weeks so I will say that they only learned basic things.. Their profit ratio will be lows as compared to well learned traders who took time in learning because trading involved deep study of market, different strategies and risk management which is not possible in short time.

As far as we are concerned learning and applying the training may take some time but making a profit from trading takes a lot of time because trading success without an experienced person I have seen few people who have succeeded are experienced players, so you have to learn to train patiently and control your emotions otherwise you will feel like trading after learning I may get good profit but if you invest you will see that you will lose everything.I have seen experienced people trading, one of my close brothers has trained for a long time and with experience his success rate is 100%.Two or three weeks is not a big deal for those who want to trade, he will learn very quickly. After all, before trading you need to know a lot and have knowledge about the contemporary world economy and have a lot of patience and a mindset to observe the current world situation And must be very experienced game then you will succeed in every trade no matter how long it takes you will smile successfully and not be afraid of losing Experienced brothers want to give this message. What I have said is from the experience of what is happening around me, if it is good then I will be happy.

Nine months to learn trading is too long for me but this also depends on the learning speed of the individual. It took me two months after learning before I began trading live, for some people it doesn't exceed weeks, once they have grabbed the right tools and points with their confidence level they are good to go. I don't know if am wrong should I classify trading as something that's learning on the job, because with each trade there's something to learn from it's results.
I am no professional or expert trader nevertheless am good at what I do in my own little way as my number of winning trades in a month is usually higher than the number of losses made and that's what important making sure your losses don't supersede your profits.

In terms of how long it takes them to master everything in the trading world, I think it's more appropriate and reasonable to say it depends on each person's own abilities. As we know that there are some who are fast in understanding lessons and there are also some who have difficulty understanding something they are learning, of course this is a fairly clear and visible difference. For me personally, trading is a profession that is quite difficult to explore, there are so many things that we have to learn there, not only about material but also by learning a lot of self-control, especially in mental and psychological terms which are really needed.

It doesn't matter if you are one of those who find it difficult to understand a lesson, there is no rule that tells you to quickly master everything, because it's useless if you force yourself to trade but on the other hand your knowledge is still small or immature, it will only waste your money. So the point is how long you have to learn it doesn't really matter, it's better to slowly but really learn with strong intentions and never give up, it's better because I'm sure you want satisfying results rather than experiencing a lot of losses due to lack of knowledge. Build the best plan, keep learning and practicing and never give up in order to achieve success and consistent results.

It also depends on the person if you ask how long it takes to become an expert trader. Because people's grasping power is different, some are fast, some are slow, but what is certain is that they learn trading quickly or slowly, depending on what we do and what we learn. The really important point in my opinion is the mental formation phase, learn theory and practice consistently, so that new habits are formed, and ultimately a trader's mentality is formed.

The point is you have to enjoy the process, step by step, day by day, moment by moment. We have to feel and enjoy everything so that discipline, commitment and consistency can all be formed and in the end our dreams will come true, and make us Professional Traders/Professional Analysts.

If you want to become a professional trader then you need to spend a lot of time in this. How many days can you learn trading? It is impossible to say. Because the duration will depend on your helper (teacher) and you. Because the easier it is and the faster you can master everything, the less time you will need to learn.

To make yourself a successful trader, you have to move forward slowly. So that nothing about trading gets out of hand.

I believe that courses that offers you to learn trading only teaches you stuff that you need as basics, and to understand the risk and what trading really is, not how to make profits and other things that could help you to make a quick leap to your trading career.

Experience is needed to make profits in trading, so rushing things up won't do any good. You need to do some trial and error to sort things out about what you have learned in the course you took for you to figure out what you need in your trading career.

Learning how to trade will take some weeks. But learning how to use trading to make profit can take months or a year or more...

And in the meantime, you lose money.  Wouldn't it be better to use that money in doing DCA Bitcoin and the time and energy you use in trading in other activities that bring you an income and don't have a money loss rate higher than 95%? I'm amazed at how much people's heads are eaten up with trading.
