Learning how to trade will take some weeks. But learning how to use trading to make profit can take months or a year or more, although learning the strategies can not take more than weeks but learning how to control emotions can take months.

I learn trading myself and it took me some days, but I lost money to trading very well. I learn more and more and now better than before and it takes me more than a year.

One thing I know about trading is to never use the amount of money that you can not afford to lose to trade.

The duration is dependent on how you were able to learn, there is absolutely no time frame set aside for trading. The nine month’s ultimatum given to you by the tutor is just is set out time for student because he is running it like a school or local hand trade and in cases like this they do not consider maybe you got a grasp of it, they just want to teach you and move to the next student.

You can be able to grasp it within that or you would not. The best thing is the fundamental and Technical analysis that your teacher taught you should just be practice and as you get used to trading only then you can grow because experience is the best teacher.

Some persons understand faster than some persons, while some persons need to be taught for two to three times before they can understand. Learning never ends, because trading is broad and can not be covered within the range of months or even years. We learn and grow in the space, having the potential abilities to grow our accounts to standardized form, gaining experience is also necessary when trading the market because it's an open place were alot of activities is triggered. I would advised you to fully understand the market, the important basis of trading, and always trade what you can afford to lose, that's the simple fact about the system. There's basis about the market we need to know about. Trading is risky and we ought to know what we basically need inother to be able to place trades.

The fact is true - successful traders take months to years to succeed. It is not as easy as beginners imagine when they want to start trading - even 9 months is not necessarily enough to equip themselves with analytical knowledge and understand the market as a whole.

Having a mentor to learn trading with is great - but I hope they actually teach you analysis, not easy ways to make profits. If you master analysis - then you will be able to develop your own talent in trading. Many successful traders understand good analysis and also have good trading psychology - so if someone is only taught the basics of trading then I'm not sure they can trade well.

I’ve learn the basic indicators for almost a year with trading and after that, i continue to learn and to be exact it took me 3 years to gain my confidence about trading. Learning is not easy because in the middle you’ll get discourage because of your losses but you have to overcome it and continue chasing for your dreams. I am not really a full-time trader however I know that the hardest thing to learn about trading is PATIENCE. The patience to stay with your trading simulation environment until you know you are ready so that you do not blow your account. Actually, trading is a long term process and every one takes a long time before they learn how to gamble the thing that is needed to workout over time is how to get patience and learn that you cannot learn trading in just days or weeks. Even I and my uncle still learning this until now and we sometimes has a problem with that and sometimes it makes me frustrated because I get some mistakes in my SL.

Personally, I believed that trading is a continuous learning as every trade you make will teach you a lesson. In my opinion, how long you have been trading isn't enough to measure all the things you've learn about trading, as there are traders who have been into trading but does not make an efficient trading. The way I see it, the best way to measure your learnings about trading is how much experience you have acquired on your trading journey.
I think this also depends on the person, because some can learn and adapt to trading with just a few months, but others took them years before fully learning. For me, technical analysis and the basics of trading can be learned in just a few months, but learning patience and discipline would take you a lifetime.

It takes time and it will depend on you, on how you manage to learn the trading and if you are a fast learner and focused on learning how to trade then for sure you can learn it in less than a year. Mastering trading is a different scenario though, this will take years of practice and actual trading but there should be no rush and you should learn more on your every trade. To be honest, it is not that difficult to learn a trading strategy. Maybe you can learn the strategy immediately within one month. But maybe we can understand why trading is difficult to others. It's because trading doesn't totally depend on your strategy but on your emotions.

It depends on a number of factors. I believe the number of months given by your instructor is just a rough estimate. Learning how to trade is the easy part. The part that takes an excessively long amount of time is to practice and get mastery of not just the technical skills you'll learn but also skills like risk management and emotional strength (as well intelligence).

In weeks, you can learn some basic from that experience but it won't make you a good trader. Mostly everyone had learned trading for years.

But in the end, it's still you as a trader will choose on how you're going to apply it. Still, it's all about your personal experience.

You can learn basics pretty fast, but there are more things to learn then most people have time to learn. It's like asking, how long does it take to learn coding. Depends how good of a coder you want to be and what you will be coding. As there are ton of different indicators that you can study, different kind of trading styles and ways to get fundamental insights.

But no amount of technical analysist skills can ensure that you'll even make a living of it. And most likely there always be lucky small cap traders who make 10000 times with one lucky bets on what you will make in years. So don't imagine it being profitable.

To be profitable trader you'll need more than skills. You need luck and funds to play with. And a safe enough system that you won't instantly lose everything.

with basic you can learn it in just 1 day, the difficult thing is technical analysis that needs you to understand chart reading and many more.
but if its just trading, you can just try some demo account, read some guides from the exchanges, i think binance have one, and then you're set.
even its the same with future trading, the difficult thing isn't how to do trading or futures trading its how to make profit out of it.

If you are a fool on maths like me then it may take years before you understand the simplest things Ok maybe not everyone is like me but someone who is great at it would be able to do a lot better whereas someone who is not great at it may not end up taking so long. I would say the ideal would be 4 weeks for learning the basics, the TA's and all that, and another 4 weeks to test what you learned and try to optimize in a better efficient way. After that its all just about experience, the more experience you gain the better, you will be better after 12 months than 6 months but you will be better at year 20 then year 10 as well, so rest is just getting to be a veteran of it.

In any area, even without dedicating yourself professionally, the greatest theoretical preparation is always required and over time, or at the same time practical, and today with how easy it is to start trading, the phrase "anyone can trade"... always comes to mind... "but not everyone can pay your bills."

So, in conjunction with what was mentioned before, get a bankroll, you must know how to manage it and start based on what you know, and evolve, it is something that you have to explore for yourself.

by the way, the term professional is very used lightly when it comes to "trading" crypto, and anyone who has an account verified on any exchange or simply because they have been trading for years, thinks they are professionals, well, if can you to pay your bills, responsibilities with the income generated by that activity, So,you are one.

In any case, what is important about trading is understanding that you can go many months without seeing profits, hence If you are going to dedicate yourself full time, trading should be the income plan "C" and not the main one.

Although if you dedicate yourself to futures it is another story, there are many things you can do, and that in itself is a key, you have to know what type of trade you want to do.

So, learning can take you a couple of days, it is not necessary 9 months, but mastering it will take you a lifetime.

and to take note, each project or coin has different features or market performance, you will end up up learning for years on how this project behaves in the market. TAs and other trading materials can be learned for few weeks or months. but the strategies, tricks and tips, it will be years and years to grasp such tools. but learning the basics would really help you understand what's going on with what you're doing.

You are the one who can answer that. It depends on how long you  managed to know everything.

If you see newbies got learned quick, then they have a good knowledge to learn everything right away.

Try to give your best shot to learned trading right away. You don't need to rush everything.

It is not possible to learn how to trade in a matter of weeks as you want, but this has nothing to do with your intelligence or skills, what you need to understand is that trading is not only learned theoretically, you also need to practice it, and just like riding a bicycle you are going to hit the ground several times before you learn how to keep yourself out of it.

So even if you could understand every single piece of information that is presented you, you will still need months of practice before you are ready to trade for real.

I don't think we should learn trading quickly or use any shortcut to learn trading. A minimum of 3 months need to be spent learning how to trade but this doesn't mean after the three months that you'll become a professional.. you'll still need more time if you don't fully understand trading but a three months learning period should give you enough understanding of the market to start trading. After learning you'll need some weeks of practice untill you have perfected a trading strategy.

Learning in trading doesn't end as you'll have to keep learning everyday but after learning the basic things to do, you can start trading. The learning period also depends on the teacher skills on teaching for a student to understand and the student understanding speed but we shouldn't be in a hurry to complete our trading lessons.

Learning can take up to years sometimes, if you are a newbie and you had started from the very start, without a single piece of knowledge about trading. Although I have seen some of my friends who had a decent portfolio and were given time to learn trading strategies, they learned in just a few months. But the problem is, if a person is going inside the trading, there will be some harsh and hard situations sometimes, so he needs to be calm and have to be patience to deal with it.

But for learning trading strategies, a person should not have to use quick ways, I mean by quick ways that he should not use shortcuts. even he should take much time to make himself a professional trader but use better ways instead of shortcuts.

But on a serious note, how will you not expect to lose money when you refused to get yourself a mentor? We are actually in a digital world where we can use our smart phone or pc to learn by watching tutorial videos and reading some related books on trading but you still need a physical teacher to put you through in some aspects. I ever try it before but everything went left and no one told me to look for a mentor before I attached myself to one. It wouldn't have taken you this long if you have been under a tutor from the beginning and even you lost would have been a little.

To OP, Learning trading has no specific period of time assigned for it. Firstly, it depends on how fast you can learn what you are being taught and secondly is how well your teacher wants to teach you. Some tutors prefer slow teaching no matter how smart the student is. But what matters after all is what or how well you can do after the learning no matter the duration. Don't be in haste, pay attention and focus, for one thing is assured, you can not learn it all from your tutor. You learn the rest and continue to discover some tactics in the process of practicing after learning.

Trading is more than having a mentor, it is about you having discipline and not trading with high amount of money. If you think you can have a mentor and you never lose, you are deceiving yourself because it is not possible. Newbie traders will experience some losses and have more experience in trading and he will naturally develop strategies to avoid losses.

There is nothing wrong with using the help of signals and bots, but when the experience and knowledge of trading are still not qualified,

Learning depends on your willingness to learn since there are people just say that they are interested but it didn't convert to the action they do so most provably it take time for this people to learn trading since they are not actually committed because maybe they are only up for the money and doesn't like to undergo some confusing process. But if they are willing to learn and everyday they try to learn a lot of information coming from many sources then provably they can learn this in short period of time. We shouldn't forget that even though we already know how to trade its really better to learn from any experiences that we can pick up while trading since if we are open on new things that come especially those we didn't face yet for sure we can possibly became more better trader.

Personally I wouldn't put a timeframe because we learn things differently,pick on concepts differently and partly if the interest in trading has been there it's easy to catch on unlike for someone that has never heard of trading and has to deal the fear of it.

This does not depend on how long a person can master trading analysis but on how much he can learn and understand. It could be that someone has a quick understanding of trading analysis but it could be that someone can't understand it.

You can become a trader in no time, but you have to learn a lot, which will confuse you. It's better to learn gradually and slowly until you really understand. There is nothing to chase in learning trading; learning trading means you keep learning and don't stop because the market always changes.

What someone needs to be a successful trader is the desire to learn, not give up because they fail, learn from many sources, have self-control in trading, not be greedy, be able to adapt to whatever circumstances occur in the market, and many others.

You should learn on your own and read and watch videos about trading until you can understand it. There is measure to how people understood learning a new thing, some trainees understand everything in all the stages, from beginning to the middle and the end, some find it hard in the early stage but towards the middle and the end, they understand better; some people might not understand anything until the toward the end and there are even some that might not get it in the training until they repeat it on their own, so I think there is a reason why your tutor said 9 months. The syllabus might also be broad too.

For trading, I don't think you will understand everything you learn from trading while learning, just as I said earlier, there are some experience that will not come when you are learning trading, they come during your personal trading journey, there are even some trading secret he has experience but wouldn't want to share it with you guys. So, just make sure you learn what is needed, from there you can learn to be own your own.

learning trading depends upon the teachers course duration and dedication of students. Nine months to learn trading is too long for me but this also depends on the learning speed of the individual. It took me two months after learning before I began trading live, for some people it doesn't exceed weeks, once they have grabbed the right tools and points with their confidence level they are good to go. I don't know if am wrong should I classify trading as something that's learning on the job, because with each trade there's something to learn from it's results.
I am no professional or expert trader nevertheless am good at what I do in my own little way as my number of winning trades in a month is usually higher than the number of losses made and that's what important making sure your losses don't supersede your profits.

It also depends on the person if you ask how long it takes to become an expert trader. Because people's grasping power is different, some are fast, some are slow, but what is certain is that they learn trading quickly or slowly, depending on what we do and what we learn. The really important point in my opinion is the mental formation phase, learn theory and practice consistently, so that new habits are formed, and ultimately a trader's mentality is formed.

3- 6 months for learning trading may just the theoretical aspects of it. You cannot learn anything worthwhile in 3-6months although it varies from one person to another person. An average of the number of years it will take for a smart person is one and half years and it is for some one who is laser focused , drink and eat market majority of the time. In 1998, I found an ad about FX trading. I was a 1st-year student in international relations, my friend was a 1st-year student in economics. I asked him what he knew about forex. It's good that you are trying to learn more about trading with a tutor or course. There are many experienced traders out there that are willing to to teach beginners their knowledge. It's hard to give a fixed amount of time that one person needs to become a trader. There are people who have prior knowledge and will pick it up in a few weeks, while others may need several month. It also comes down to how much time you can invest every week. One tip I would give any beginner is to run a demo trading account at the side and not invest a lot of money on these trades directly. Chance based investing is fine if we don't have any idea or don't have the time to make our own research. But I would prefer to buy a larger number of coins than just 1 or 2 per week, the more we spread our money out the lower will be our risk of losing a lot of money. With stocks we could just buy ETFs to diversify our money, in the crypto world we would need to build our own portfolio. The main trading idea is that we still want to hold general crypto market exposure, but not face too much risk by one single crypto coin. learning theory doesn't take long. maybe in 1-2 weeks you can find out the ways and strategies in trading. but using the trading strategy you learned to make a profit, takes longer.
I don't know for sure, but it was probably more than a year until I was probably comfortable enough in trading. Don't ever calculate how much you will lose because it might make you give up at the beginning before you enjoy your learning process.

learning theory doesn't take long. maybe in 1-2 weeks you can find out the ways and strategies in trading. but using the trading strategy you learned to make a profit, takes longer.
I don't know for sure, but it was probably more than a year until I was probably comfortable enough in trading. Don't ever calculate how much you will lose because it might make you give up at the beginning before you enjoy your learning process.

Everything could be found in youtube and if you do have that time and effort then you could really be able to learn up trading and not really that long.If you do prefer on having a mentor then its up to you but of course it wont really be coming free or having no cost.So its up to you whether you would really be willing to pay on someone who could really be able to guide you up or would really be just simply learning trading for yourself without having anyone to follow but somewhat this kind of path is hard since you dont have any idea on where to start but doesnt mean that it is impossible.It is really just that there are people who are really that eager to learn without needing to pay a dime into those people who are really that keen about spending.

Actually, in my opinion, learning trading doesn't need to be measured whether it takes a long time or not, because it depends on the level of understanding that you have to pay attention to. If it's a little slow, it means you need to be patient, whereas if it's fast and able to understand everything related to techniques, and methods and being able to implement them at a certain time, it means it won't take long. Personally, I don't really demand myself to understand quickly even though it can be done, because usually I prefer to study 1 technique until I really understand not only the theory but also its application. I have seen my wife trying to learn drawing on a pad for the past 3 months or so, even a little more, I bought her that pad so that she could draw and ignore the health issues she would have, and truth be told she did draw almost everyday for the first 2 weeks, but after that she started to draw maybe once ever two weeks, so that would make it like about 6-7 times in the last 2.5 months.

I could easily say that every time she picks up, she doesn't improve but just stays the same level because she has to keep remembering what she learned each time, because there are so many breaks in between, and that makes her not improve a bit. Trading is similar, if you "learn" once every two weeks, you are going to forget about what you last learned, and you will have to refresh your memory first and try to put something on top of it again and you will not move fast. It's not actually hard to learn trading knowing there are already steps being set to follow when trading. For me, trading for weeks or a month is good enough. But when you say profitable trading, that one should be learned the hard way. You can’t assign a timing to trading as, it is based on individual differences. Some are fast learners while some are slow learners and other just don’t get to learn at all. Wrong decisions are inevitable specially that we are really that just starting with trading, there's no fast pace on doing so because everything would really be just that depending on how fast you would really be that learning things along the way and it isnt something that would really be that so simple. Learning trading does really takes time and tons of effort and lots of understanding on what you are dealing with because if not
then there's no sense of direction on which you would really be that going. How long is really that something that would really be just that depending on how a certain individual would really be able to learn things up.

It's true, and I agree with what you say: the length of the month or time is not a measure for us to learn here in trading. Because there are other people, no matter what you teach them, if they don't have a source or will to know it, they won't really understand or absorb it.

In my opinion, this will really depend on the individual's ability to understand how to trade and various things related to coin analysis, prices, markets and opportunities. Each person's understanding will be different. there are those who can understand and adapt to trading more quickly, there are also those who are slower. Each person's level of focus is also different. It could be that someone only needs 1 month to be completely ready, and someone else needs several months.

For example, for me personally, I have been studying trading for months but I still can't really understand how to optimize technical analysis and other things in trading. So even several times I tried to trade, the results were still the same, namely I still passed optimally when trading.

On the other hand, my friend studied almost at the same time as me or even before me, but for now to be honest, his trading skills are very good and better than mine. focus, consistency, commitment, and several things or factors when learning trading are very influential and he has more of them than me. Trading is the same skill as drawing, coding, designing etc. So answer will be next - everyone is unique. Someone needs X time to become good, while another person might need 2X time. Going back to the trading. It took me around 2 month to become a bit more confident about my trading skills and what I do, after 3-4 month I completely lost feeling of "wow, I am wolf of wall street" and it was the most important moment, because trading requires "cool head" and less emotions help to make rational and logical actions. However, my experience may differ from someone's else. I have a few trading mates who had fully another path. One guy spent around half of the year to become confident in his understanding of exchange, strategies etc. Second guy was quicker than me, he went through stages that I mentioned above twice quicker. The most important is simply start, after you will gain experience and that's it (P.S. when you start your trading journey, I recommend to allocate small % of your savings to practise and add more after you get some practical experience and positive results). The hardest thing to learn was discipline and emotional control. But practice-practice and again practice helps to become better in your field. Trading is not a course to be honest. Yes you can learn the basics of trading or how to read the market etc. But if you ask how to trade? Then it can be learnt by experience only. I will suggest you a basic roadmap. Learn the initial pre requisite for trading. Learn about analysing charts and patterns of coins. When you are done with this, then go for demo trading with dummy money. Once you are confident with this, then switch for real money and trade with minimising the risk.

There's no definite time as to how long you will learn in trading. It depends on your own capacity and capability whether you easily get the trading technicalities and its fundamentals or you always find it hard to engage in trading. As every individual is unique, so each aspiring trader may also has its own way to learn trading based on his own preferred way. And as long its never crossing the line against the trading rules, then any trade will never be a threat.

We have to make effort to at least draw the line so we can understand when it can be said that someone have finally known how to trade. It can never be guaranteed how long it will take someone to learn to trade perfectly. Trading is a very complicated thing to learn it, first you have to give fundamental basic knowledge, then you have to collect its various resources, then you have to learn technical analysis, then you have to test, then there is risk management. These things can never be learned at once and also it depends on how progressive a person is. It appears that someone can do professional trading in 8 months to 2 years and some can't do it even in 5 years.

Why you don't focus on learning trading? If you don't focus on it, you probably never get a proper knowledge in trading. It is a bit surprising that you never focus in trading although you've spent a long time learning trading. You don't need to be a day trader if your focus in learning it, but it is a must to be an active/regular trader. You can trade weekly if you can't trade daily. You can just adjust the time for trading with your main jobs, but you need to trade because you will get an experience by trading regularly.

You are more suited to being a Holder than a trader, because you only buy coins that have potential and you just keep them. long term holding just need to buy recommended coins like bitcoin. Simply put, traders who can understand how the market works and how to take advantage of the market are considered successful traders. Success is certainly not measured by how much profit is made, but success in trading is when they can make a profit regardless of nominal value. Many traders basically need a lot of time to make big profits, but they don't need a lot of time to understand how the market works.

I am not a professional trader, but I have been trading for over 10 years myself, talk to full time traders regularly and read a lot about the subject of investing and trading. What I can tell you is that there will never be a point in your life where you know everything about trading and can just relax without ever having to learn something new. Capital markets are very dynamic and changing all the time. It's not only the prices itself that are changing, but also the traders that are active in the market every single day. Which is why we need to adapt and learn ourselves too. The basic of trading you can learn very quickly, depending on the free time you have, you can learn all the important things in a few weeks. What you can't get so quickly is real life trading experience. It's really important to start trading while you keep learning, just start very small to get a feeling for it.
