What does being rich mean in your perspective?

From my point of view, rich is feeling enough for everything without feeling lacking in anything personally and in life. Even though other people may see us as just normal, that won't be a problem because everyone never shows off all the wealth they have to the public or to anyone passing by on the street. So for me, being rich doesn't mean that someone has to have more wealth with luxurious items and quite a lot of vehicles, because having enough and not feeling lacking and having difficulties in life every day, I already consider someone like that to be rich.

Of course, many people differ in how they define rich, some believe that they must live on more than one income, have financial goals, or be effective in using their time and daily life productively. I agree with all of this

In my opinion, being rich doesn't have to be seen from one's wealth alone, but the true definition of rich is how grateful they are and feel sufficient for what they have got now. And help a lot or donate the little wealth we have to other people.

Good question, but I think your topic is motivated by this one Re: If someone holds 1 bitcoin in 2023, can he call himself rich? Well, I shared my opinion about being rich there too, but I will share more here. Which is, that being rich is doing anything with your life, and you don't have to think before making any payment. Even you don't even have to think about how much money you have and how much money you need to buy something.

Long story short, if you have enough money that you don't even know how much you have and you are making money continuously then you are rich. But another thing I wanted to add is, the rich are those who don't only spend their money, but they also invest their money and multiply their money.

They have entrepreneur mindsets, even the rich is some spoiled people, they have this mindset to invest their money into some assets and stocks that can make them more money.

If you met these conditions, then it means you are rich.

If you noticed I didn’t say “you need a car, you need a house, $x amount of cash) etc because if you are a person that don’t need to work and not checking the food prices it means you are financially free. It means you can buy pretty much anything you want.

When was the last time you sit in a restaurant and ordered food without checking its price first? If you did this, it means you are poor.

It's funny how all the responses here centers on personal achievements. I'd ask a question. Who do we consider rich? what does a person need to do in our lives before we accept they're rich? Giving! is the only factor used to measure riches in the society. If you have all the money in world, cars, buildings and financial freedoms without having humans who benefit from the wealth through giving and charity. People won't be satisfied with the fact that you're rich. A person that gives to people is a rich person. Because it signifies they have enough for themselves, that they can reach out to other people. Not just families, but strangers. Helping startups grow. Sponsoring people who do things we want to do. These are the factors I'd consider as being rich. Not just acquiring personal needs. If we don't hand things over to others it means we're not satisfied with what we've gotten. Meaning that we ain't rich.

Richness in what sense? We can think about being rich financially, healthy, belonging to a wide social circle of friends, by being a popular individual, by being successful on the professional field chosen to work on, by having the love of the woman of your dreams or just by being in peace with yourself and with the philosophy of life you chose for yourself. We can talk about richness literally or metaphorically. There isn't a right answer for this question, as it will be always subjective depending the aspect we are talking for and the people you are asking to.

In my perspective, I consider all the categories mentioned above as meanings of being a rich individual.

It's indeed about health too, because being healthy contributes to a better life. When one possesses what the society values, they'll definitely be called rich. Do you think the rich folk still think of other rich people as rich? wouldn't they have other things that'll be more valuable than money. Most rich men today, sponsor war and purchase weapons. That's what seems to them as being rich. Owning war tankers, bombs etc. You'd see it's about personal perspective. Others who depend in the spiritual ways can see a possessor of a rare talisman as rich too. So, it's not mainly about the money like you said. Freedom and happiness is also factors of wealth in the life of many business men. Stuffs like cars and house, we easily get tired of them. That's why I think we all should own our different ways of seeing riches. Like myself, giving is my first and primary factor of calling a person rich. Regardless of their social standards, houses or whatever belongings they have.

Happiness is how I determine being rich.  If money isn't important to you, and you have most of the things/possessions you want, I feel that you can still determine that as being "rich", just in a bit different of a way.

In economic terms, it all depends on where you live in the world.  In some places a million dollars is an extremely large amount of money, in other's it's not very much.  So it all comes down do regional location.  Then what city/state/providence you live in.  Also your portfolio holdings and current job all factor in.

Everyone has a different view of what rich is, and everyone has their own parameters to measure it against.
Now maybe in this case many people define wealth on possessions, yes that is not wrong. But I want to give my opinion from another perspective, like health for example. Yes for me when we have a lot of money but we have an illness, then that's not happy either.
I started to think like this, there are so many rich people in my neighborhood who have to go back and forth to the hospital, while simple people have very good health.
Maybe that's a little bit of my view on what wealth is like.

There is a saying, 'health is wealth', if you don't have this wealth, materialistic wealth is useless.

That's the case, but nowadays many people are chasing wealth without thinking about their health. Sure, they have health insurance as a form of investment in their health, but that alone is not enough to guarantee health. I mean work yes work, but don't forget about health, like for example from the smallest things, keep your sleep pattern, keep your diet, take the time to exercise even if it's only 10 minutes every day. Don't let something we pursue make us sick in the end, it's not funny either.
I understand that everyone's needs are different, but that doesn't mean we can ignore our health. Because we also won't be able to make money if our health is disrupted.

For me, the definition of being reach wealth is; It is the evaluation style of a person who has gained financial freedom, successfully earns passive income, can buy almost anything they wants, doesn't check the price when purchasing a product/service and has enough savings to continue their life comfortably. Of course, people who meet these criteria but have psychological or health problems are rich only by financial definition.

Maybe it will be a bit of poor literature but apart from material things&money to state the general definition of the word rich for me; I can describe as a happy, knowledgeable, successful and respectful person and who has no health problems. The literal meaning of the word rich becomes real with the inclusion of the financial factors I mentioned at the beginning of my comment.

As we have heard from many people money circulates all over the world. And it went from one person to another one. But I think the person who has the spending ability is rich. Because I have seen many people that have a lot of money but they didn't have the spending ability or don't have a heart and want to make the choices in which they want to invest. So, they are just adding their money for their whole life and they don't even take any benefit from it.

So, I don't consider these people to be the richest ones as I think the richest people are those who look for what they like and for which nothing could stop them from investing and nothing could stop them from making themselves best. This is the only reason some richest people are not liked by many other people who have greed.

My definition of wealthy is how many lives you have impacted positively to stand on their own, how many people are under your custody that you are training, what you have done for your community, the way you are being love and cherished by people and the assets you owed.

To me, I don't consider anyone to be rich if they can't do what I have mentioned. I will regard someone as being wealthy more especially if they can touch the lives of people around them positively.

Richness could really be define in 2 ways on which i could think off. Totally depend on a certain person on how he would definite it but
speaking up literally on  things then it would really be pertaining something like this;

RICH IN FIAT
1. Able for someone to buy things that he wants.
2. Able to do all sorts of things on what he do have in mind
3. Control of other people
4. Taking up advantage since you do have the money
5. Have that confidence on everything

1. You might not be rich but there's love  that you are preferring into.
2. Good health is always the key
3. Respect from other people
4. Reputation

Actually it would really vary but for me then i would always choose that Option A.

In fact, the meaning of "rich" for many people can be defined differently in the same way that people view "success". I believe very few, and perhaps almost no, people would want to live a life of poverty and misery. Everyone wants a rich, happy and prosperous life. And the real wealth is those who are good at being grateful, and feel content in living life without lacking anything.

So for me, being rich doesn't mean that someone has to have more wealth with luxurious items and quite a lot of vehicles, because having enough and not feeling lacking and having difficulties in life every day, I already consider someone like that to be rich.

Many people misunderstand wealth. If you have a lot of money, luxury cars, and a magnificent house are the benchmarks for being rich. In my opinion, in personal finance, wealth is a condition when the amount of assets is greater than debt, this is called net worth.

In terms of tangible assets, my view on being rich is being able to afford everything and anything they want from their food, house, cars, jewels, etc. But I also believe that being rich is wealthy is on a different level. Being wealth for me means that you own a lot, you're not 'richer' you are a lot richer of the rich person, idk if you will get that but that's how crazy rich a wealthy person is. While we dream of being rich someday, there are also some rich people who dream of becoming wealthy.

Every one of us has different views on these terms, I like how others are addressing this generally, not just monetarily. OP didn't mention it.

This definitely depends on individual perspective as you already point out. Generally speaking, when we hear rich, the first thing that comes to our mind is money. But it's interesting to note that money is not the only factor that determines whether someone is rich or not. There are many people who have a lot of money but still feel poor and there are others who have very little money but feel very wealthy.

In my own perspective being rich is all about satisfaction, peace of mind and contentment. When you are able to satisfy your needs without having to struggle much or seeking for someone's assistance is what I consider being rich. To me richness is more about being self-sufficient and not having to rely on others for your basic needs.

Rich is an adjective. Someone can interpret rich with various views. In the economic sector, rich means someone has more than enough financial capabilities.

What I mean by your question is rich, lots of money. Because rich is an adjective, rich from my point of view is being able to be economically independent and able to help people in need.
This is included in the meaning of being rich and rich like that is what I want when I have a lot of money and lots of investment assets.

My personal definition of richness in the economic sense is having money both liquid and assets to be able to fulfill at least 90% of your desires wants and needs we felt ever being worried about them. To be which furthermore is simply to think it and be able to do it without any financial restrictions. Nothing more than this.

In finacial terms which is the most common reference afaik , being financially rich usually means your financial status is simply above average and you can make money while sleeping without having to think about when your next pay cheque is coming in. It's safe to say those considered to be rich are those that own several businesses and have the elite status in a country or in their circles and can afford whatever tickles their fantasy.

Rich for me

1) Time  under 30 is rich.
2) Health no illness of any kind is rich.
3) Muscle Tone and physically fit. is rich
4) Love a solid person for your lover. is rich
5) Wealth cash homes  is rich
6) no debt is rich
7) kids if you want them is rich
8 ) no kid if you don’t want them is rich

No one has all of the above.

Some people have a lot from that list and they are close to truly rich.

Wealth is:
- Knowledge that can be applied in real life
- A desire to live a better life and to take action to do so
- Having health, family, business
- To be as independent as possible from the situation
- To have good connections and acquaintances
- Have diversified assets
- To think and develop in accordance with the real world
- Do not stop at what has been achieved, set new "peaks" and try to achieve them

Most likely I missed something, but the above mentioned are very important for wealth, or rather high quality life, as these are two different concepts, and the second one (high quality life) is more important and significant.

Wealth from my poerspective is those who are able to meet all the needs of themselves, their families, and help people who need help. In my opinion, wealth is not something that can only be enjoyed by oneself, but wealth must also provide benefits to the people around us who need it. In my opinion, if more people care about other people, life will be better and we can become useful people

I am sure that everyone has the dream of becoming a financially independent person, but achieving this is not easy, we need to struggle and work hard to gain wealth.
