Surely, Bitcoin can give you a solid ROI but as always there are risks involved...as Bitcoin is very volatile digital asset meaning it can go up and down anytime and even for no reason at all. Bitcoin is known to an investors' haven as there is a big potential to make a considerable profit here...but you must act when it is good to act and always listen to the market and maybe even listen to your gut. Agree with you. Holding is key to make a career and if I can not hold, I can not make a career with Bitcoin.

DCA is another key and if I am working in a signature campaign, I can use my campaign salary for DCA and for my holding.

Good for your brother but I do hope that he is not selling at $34k or even if we reach $50k as everyone is looking for a massive bullrun next year, 2024-2025, wherein the prediction will be $100k higher.

The past profits do not guarantee any future profit. So never make a career by holding bitcoin. Work for company or start a business which will give you acess to money. Never rely completely on Bitcoin unless you are trading at a professional level with all tools and financial support.

That's right, your brother made the Bitcoin purchase at the right time. so the purchase makes a profit. but you should probably also know that investing or trading Bitcoin has its own science. You can't just follow your older brother who managed to make a profit, and you try it for your luck.

It depends on whether the money is idle money, savings or money he needs for emergencies. I find it quite risky to withdraw all the money from the bank to invest in bitcoin even though he is enjoying the reward of his risky decision. What you described here is not called "building a career", specially since it sounds like it was a one time thing. A single investment that also doesn't seem to have been with a solid plan, just a simple luck where price went up and produced some profit for the one time investor.
Even a career in this context would be a day trader who makes profit regularly from regularly trading bitcoin not a one time investment.

In any case, a solid career with bitcoin would be an actual business using bitcoin. For example the centralized exchanges, payment processors, online shops, etc. are good examples of other people who built an actual career with bitcoin.

We can definitely say that Bitcoin is the best platform for investment. But it is difficult to determine when is the right time to invest. You said that if someone holds bitcoins at the right time, he can make profit quickly. But even if the word is true but it is difficult to determine the appropriate time. I totally agree. But signature campaign earnings nowadays is quiet low and on my part I cant keep my earnings on my wallet alone because I had to use it for my basic needs. You shouldn't be asking this question in the title because when you look around you (the web) you should see many successful people having a career with Bitcoin. The exchanges are in business because of Bitcoin, the traders, P2P marchants are all in business because of Bitcoin and other analyst companies are all in business because of Bitcoin. Personally we can pick up a career path that involves Bitcoin payment and have a successful career.

I don't consider investment a career because that's something everybody should be doing. Irrespective of what you're doing for survival, we should all be an investor and Bitcoin investing has made that very easy. Bitcoin investment has eliminated the need for brokers or having the privilege of inside information enjoyed by the elites as that was how it was when there was no Bitcoin that you can invest into from the comfort of your bed and follow up your investment as well.

To lucky for your brother that he earn on right time of buying bitcoin since not every time we can earn with it since there are dumping season that can really hurt us financially and change our decision making towards the investment we hold. Yes we can really earn huge amount by investing on bitcoin but we also need to consider those technical aspect so that we can determine on which price is good to have rather than having a random shot where we don't know if we already bought on the top or not since this is risky action and might it can cause a huge lose for us.

You have confused "career" and "investing" in various ways. Making money through a job that includes challenges, tasks to be performed, and a place where you have to prove yourself or show some skills to contribute to the development of projects is entirely different than just investing money into something that will give you return money.

I think one could still achieve same goal but with different approach. One could use the market conditions to double, triple or quadruple your Bitcoin holding and see what it's going to be in the next 7 years. Let's say I bought 1 BTC at 35k and sell it during the bull season at 90k in 2025, my Bitcoin would increase to 2.57 BTC. I could reinvest the Bitcoin during the bear market in 2027, less say at $50k (i.e 2.57 BTC should be 128.5$) and sell again during the bull in 2029 at $170k, and that would take my Bitcoin to 8.73 BTC. This is just rough a calculation but I know it's very possible.

I think that the glory days of btc growing 100x in 2 or 3 years are gone. December 2012 btc dropped to around 9 bucks a coin. It went to 1300 a coin in 11 months or so that is  144x in 11 months. That is unlikely these days.

Also if you have 10,000 usd  say .3 coins and we do 10x in six months your .3 coins are worth 100,000 it becomes very hard to hodl as 100,000 is life changing money in many parts of the world.

So to think you can simply invest and hodl until you are rich is very hard to make real.

I know this when my 2,000 usd worth of doge got to 88,000 usd I cashed it. If I hodled a little  longer it would have been 350,000 usd.

It is weird to have 80k plus profits and feel disappointed.

It is true because marketcap of Bitcoin becomes big already nowadays. It is a barrier for 100x within 2 or 3 years like it did in early years since 2009.

I think that the glory days of btc growing 100x in 2 or 3 years are gone. December 2012 btc dropped to around 9 bucks a coin. It went to 1300 a coin in 11 months or so that is  144x in 11 months. The main reason why someone would ask this question is to evade that job/business dilemma and look for something else. But I agree, what is that something else anyway? One needs a stable source of income as a backup option to rely on considering the OP is from a country that does not allow bitcoin transactions but they are still doing it carefully.

Building such a career would need skills that mostly freelancing workers have. Although such things are by no means low income there are groups which manage to live in good conditions by just freelancing and if you have some specific skills then its even better.

I would say its always possible as there are successful investors out there who have been making a good and sustainable career with bitcoin. But we all know that does not happen in an instant. You could have lose a lot at first before you can finally say that you are already in the verge of success with bitcoin.   You need some sort of other skills or knowledge than just how the blockchain works. But that skill doesn't have to be programming. If you are knowledgeable about market finance, you can probably work on investing in cryptocurrency based products, design new blockchain based financial services, that sort of stuff. If you have some experience in IT infrastructure, investments, purchases and economic management you may do good work in mining. And so on. I don't know how sensible those ideas really are as career plans, but they are at least interesting skill sets for some Bitcoin based businesses.
