I've personally never had such a problem with NFC and POS devices, and if you have, have you found out why it happened? Unless your phone breaks down or the NFC chip stops working for some reason, I don't see why the smartphone's NFC would be invisible to the POS device, and the plastic card would work?

I didn't find out why it has happened, but I've changed my phone recently and since then, in one "place"* the NFC from my new phone is not seen.
I know that the POS still works for others. But I've also seen some others had my problem too in the past (when my phone was working).
I know that my phone's NFC is fine because the problem happens only there and I've paid with NFC plenty of times with my new phone.

I had some problems and I didn't go out much in the past 2 months, but that's about to change and I should get my card in use soon. And then also see if it works... there.


* It's not an actual one-site place, it's a network, so it's quite a number of POS devices I'm talking about, so clearly not an accident. I'd guess that it's an old technology in those POS, I have no other idea.

@NeuroticFish, in that case, it's probably a problem with the configuration of those POS devices or they simply have a problem with the type of phone you're currently using. I would personally report it to their customer service, so the problem might be solved.

It can be annoying if for some reason NFC payment doesn't work, but I personally always have cash on hand in case something like that happens.

As a reminder, I'm still building the cards site. Specifically, I'm populating the SQL database with lots of cards data. It turns out that this is tedious manual work because I have to read through a lot of terms of service and FAQs.  

Do you have any estimate date when website should be released?
It is on thing to release website like this, but it's totally different thing keeping it up to date with many changes happening with crypto cards all the time.
I think you should add warning about that with date when last check was performed, maybe even add option for visitors to report any mistakes they notice.

Updating the cards database will take exponentially less time than populating it.

To speed things up, I am using Grok 3 with Deep Research feature to enrich the SQL insert statements. It scrapes the websites surprisingly well, so I should be able to get that out of the way in a few days now.

I am surprised that Grok collects complete and accurate information. At least, based on what I tested, most of the information they collect is from the X network and articles posted on it. There is often wrong information there.

As promised, I would like to leave feedback on my first use of the Bitrefill card. And I can say that I am satisfied.

I used the virtual version of the card, as I don't have the physical card. No KYC needed.
It was necessary to do 3D validation and everything went well. At first I wasn't sure what the password for this validation was, but I quickly chose a new one - still in the middle of the validation process - it was soon accepted and worked.

It was all quick and efficient. It will be to continue using, within the possible limits without KYC. It's true that the conversion rate isn't the best, but it's also not very different from the amounts paid in P2P.

The only point that seemed less favorable to me is the fact that card top-ups in BTC are always made to the same address. I made two loads, on different days and for both the same input address was used.

Otherwise everything is impeccable and I recommend it.

Me too, but it's a bit more complicated than that.
Imho this is one of the use cases one or more physical cards come handy. What if I have a similar issue in a country I'm only passing and I don't have it currency because I only stop for refueling and a sandwich?

And it works just perfect.

Yep, I have the Bitrefill virtual card for quite some months now and I've used it a good number of times. It works flawlessly, even in places my normal bank's card doesn't (!)
And having it in Google/Apple wallet is incredibly handy.

The new version of Grok released a few weeks ago on the grok.com website tends to only search websites and not tweets like the one that is built-in to X. That original Grok is not very nice as I had to keep viewing my feed before accessing it.

From my latest experience the best ones to use nowadays are grok and deepseek.
Grok for the advantage of very fresh information available and deepseek for good accuracy of answers based on the data it has.

If you can confirm that Bitrefill virtual card supports 3DS, than that is just the second card that can do that without any kyc verification.
Only card so far that was offering service like this was stealths.net and I think they had to change providers and terms few months ago.
Higher fees for this type of card is to be expected.

Yes, I confirm that it supports 3DS validation.

Validation occurs in two ways. First, an SMS is sent to your mobile number, with a code, which you must enter on the website. Then request the 3DS password that you created on the Bitreffil platform. If you don't know which one to put, you can create a new one in less than 1 minute. Enough time to finish validation. (That's what happened to me.)

So I agree that it is an excellent card for those who don't make very high movements. You will be reminded of the limits without KYC. One of them, which I think is most relevant, is that you can only use it without KYC until you reach €15,000 in total payments (at least that's what I understand about the indicated limits).

I've already mentioned in previous posts that I read that contactless payments have a limit of $200 per month - are you perhaps familiar with that limit and is that even true? For me, that would be the biggest drawback, although considering that @joker_josue  confirms that 3DS works, it should be a great choice for those in the EU when it comes to online payments.

I will have to check out it, but I see there is some limitation with supported country and it's not available for ApplePay wallet yet, but I don't care about that.
Only cards I used from Bitrefill was gift cards, and they worked fine.

I registered for the card right at the beginning, about 5 or 6 months ago, so I don't remember the entire procedure. But one thing I am sure of, I never sent them any copy of any document.

If I'm not mistaken, I only had to validate the registration with the email and phone number. I believe this "identity validation" is the validation of a valid phone number and email.

Also because the phone number is necessary for the 3DS process. Because they send a code via SMS, in addition to the special password defined by the user on the website.

I am from a supported country and when I select that I want a virtual card I get the following menu. Maybe you really only need to confirm your mobile phone number and email, but the way it's presented suggests that much more is needed than that.

The Big List incorrectly says PST is a no KYC card. I checked today it requires KYC before granting permission to deposit funds.

I've already mentioned in previous posts that I read that contactless payments have a limit of $200 per month - are you perhaps familiar with that limit and is that even true?

From my knowledge the limit is lower (40-50$) and it's for different purpose: when that limit is touched you have to enter your card PIN for the next purchase.
So not a monthly limit.

Also, if you use the card through the phone then you don't even feel the limit much, it's just it requires one more (fingerprint) authentication every now and then (every 40-50$ spent); no PIN, no limits.

But I have this experience from other cards (my fiat salary card), I don't think that I've spent from Bitrefill 200$ in a month.

And herein lies another problem: How does the Big List classify a card with two pricing tiers?

For the purposes for the database, I'm treating them as separate loyalty tiers in which for the paid tier you have to pay some money per month, but maybe there's a more elegant solution.
