     Actually, the risk level has increased even more now in investing in altcoins, to be honest. Because most altcoins on the market are pure greens. The majority of these altcoins are rallying, and if I look at it literally, they are also being pulled by bitcoin on the rise.

     So just slow down a bit, and if you want to keep up, just invest and hold long-term first and don't do short-term because you might be left behind and unable to catch up because that's not a good way, believe me.

I think you can still invest in altcoins so far you conduct detailed research. I will suggest you invest in older alcoins like ethereum, BNB, etc. In my opinion, expectations are still high as regards the bull market - as crypto enthusiasts anticipate the Bitcoin halving. Bitcoin value have a way of impacting on the altcoins (Current Bitcoin dominance: 51.6% - Coinmarketcap). There is also Fear-of-Missing-Out (FOMO), which will make more people to invest because they don't want to miss out in the bull run. FOMO also adds to the bull market.

Investors can take advantage of the dip and buy the preferred altcoin. Just like every other investment, only invest what you can afford to loose.

OP, i already invested into altcoins with good percentage of money from my whole budget and currently currencies already growed a lot so I don't think it is best time for investment, rather I'm planning to invest again later as I'm expecting a dump in upcoming weeks. But its good to participate in quick trade. There are many good altcoins, which are keep pumping and dumping like hyped coins. I've seen many on binance. I agree that, a top gainer coin will turn into a top looser altcoin tomorrow. That's why need to careful about timing during buy and sell

I see a lot of questions about this and as far as I understand as per the advice of experienced people its always risky but not all coins but 1 to 30 market cap coins seems like a good safe to me. However, if you want to invest in an altcoin, you have to do a lot of monitoring because once it is down, it takes a long time to hit the highest price, especially if the price of Bitcoin does not increase. But if you can be a good professional trader then you can do better than altcoin because short trade or holding for a long time can make a good amount of profit if you can select the right coin at the right time.

Top 1-30 coins by coin marketcap are on the market with a very large marketcap which means they have huge amount of investors so they won't be scammed very easily. Because of this they can be invested in but Altcoins get pumped/dumped a lot in a short period of time. so don't panic quickly if you invest in altcoins or any others coins. because patience is the key of success

Exactly the decisions of those people will only be effected by market dump who are short term traders but if once you choose long term holding then you should not be worried about temporary pump and dump. The better way of investment and trading is to choose a lower price for buying and then wait for the appropriate duration which will fulfil your dreams when market gets bullish.

Every individual think in opposite direction to others so don't copy others because their invested amount will not be same as yours. Bullish and bearish are totally different from each other and both are advantageous so we have not to fall into wrong concept but accept the current price and take advantage of current worth as both will be in our favor if we understand this thing.

I like to do slow trading. This means I will buy a coin and I will sell it when I get a profit above 50%. I will try to be patient waiting for my selling limit. So I can't say about short or long trades. In current market conditions, it is important to know when to enter and when to exit.

There are quite a few differences between altcoins and bitcoins. Bitcoin is definitely an established coin. In comparison, not all of the altcoins are established. Moreover, there are a lot of altcoins in the market, if you invest in those coins, sometimes you get more profit, but after a long time, those coins lose their value drastically. Although the value of Bitcoin also decreases, after a long time Bitcoin can create a new ATH which is not possible for all altcoins. We have seen altcoins in history where a few of those altcoins survived after getting an ATH, but there are many altcoins that no longer exist. Of course, in investing in altcoins, an investor should select some altcoins that are fundamentally strong. There are some top altcoins that build smart contracts on their platforms or have their own chains. Among those altcoins I prefer Ether and BNB coin.

And if you check again, then you can see those top gainers doing profit from those altcoins what aren't popular, haven't enough secure or not stable at all. It isn't easy to predict which underated altcoin is going to boom tomorrow. Besides you need to gain knowledge about trading, need to learn a lot while investment is easy. Just buy good or top altcoins and wait for good time for sell. Thus process could be more helpful. If you check the price of Bitcoin now, you will notice that every thing is already dip and it's an opportunity for us to start buying some positions if we have the capital to invest more in the market even though we might have bought some positions at the top.

Bitcoin should definitely be the first choice and the holding capacity gives you different activism than other cryptocurrencies, holding it for the long term. For every profit you have to wait and allow time to come full circle, a full period of your investment. But here you forgot to mention the more important altcoins that are "Binance Coins" and "Matic". Among them, I take "Binance".

Every investment has risk and altcoins price rises whenever bitcoin price goes up. Altcoins are not volatile like bitcoin. They are like stable coins and their movement is very slow and their value is not encouraging to invest. Op I must tell you the truth that trading is must more better than investing in altcoins because their some altcoins that you will invest for like three to four years yet the value is nothing and not even up to a dollar and if you learn trading and you become a successful trader for a year, you will make enough profit from the trading. So I choose trading to altcoins.

Mate you are correct to an extent but saying that trading is better than investing in altcoin is what I don't actually think is correct because sometimes traders make huge loss and before they can be able to make the money back, they have done numerous analysis and these analysis can be very hard and sometimes after the analysis they will still incurred loss but when you invest you relax, you don't carry out analysis but rather you hope for your investment to make progress though some investment actually take time to yield profit. In summary, no one is better than the other is just left for one to choose the one that will favor them.

the volatility definitely higher than that of bitcoin, even ethereum is rather volatile though not as bad, if we see the new altcoins its always a roller coaster, right now the price is $1 tomorrow it can be $0.5 thats already half capital lost if you invest spot trading in that certain coin imagine you try to invest with leverage of 25x your money already gone long before it has 50% dump.
its overall a wild west with altcoin investment, whoever can manage to tolerate the risk they can make profit but they can go broke too, i'd expect anyone trying to invest in altcoin to know that before hand though.
but overall investing in altcoin isn't that risky where you can lost your money instantly though as long as you can try to make proper analysis and only find out the legitimate altcoin project.
investing when a coin first get listed on binance for example, usually the volatility can be taken advantage of to create massive profit just within short amount of time.

Invest and relax in altcoins? Remember not is not Bitcoin we are talking about here oh! But it is an altcoins. There are some times Even 3 years you have not seen any sign of making profit from the altcoin. But really foe the trading one can lose big within an hour or a second and the same time you can make that amount within that period. An the risk is in everywhere. Trade wisely and trade wisely as others have said.

Don't invest only in altcoins and relax but look foe others means to sustain the gap. Either you invest in Bitcoin or trading to support the altcoins investment.
