It would really be just that ending up on two different possible responses or reaction on which he would really be that thankful into his friend if that bet had been a lost but since its a winning bet then you would really be able to expect the different thing.It is really just that a very normal human being kind of reaction.  People would really be making out those regrets that they havent been able to bet big

This is why gamblers should know that it's a two-way thing, it's either they win or lose, and because you win now doesn't mean you would win in the next bet, and the same thing goes for the opposite, anyone can win and continue to win, but it's until they try it that they will know the actual outcome of their thought. Gambling is such that we should not engage without a proper plan, this is where many are making mistakes and are saying they are addicted and have lost their control. Why wouldn't that happen when you do not have a plan but just betting based on your digression, instinct and emotion, which is bad? Gambling requires the gamblers to be strategic and disciplined, this is as they have the necessary plans on what to do and the amount to play even before getting to the betting house or platform.

Yes, that is the result of us not being able to control ourselves and instead letting greed control us until we finally continue gambling because we want to get a bigger win. But that's normal for many gamblers and not just you. I also experienced it and so did other gamblers. But we have to learn from that experience so that we don't get trapped again by that greed and can stop immediately after getting the big win. We don't need to take too big a risk by continuing the gambling game, especially if we have managed to win big because that is enough for us to cash in the winnings.

That's pretty normal when we have won such amounts and we've got lesser capital due to the money that was borrowed from us. And there goes all of the thoughts about what ifs when that money wasn't lent.

Yes it should be, I think there is nothing to blame because I think this is not a deliberate act by his friend and also maybe there are some obstacles that make OP's friend late to return the money so that OP cannot get a much bigger win. You could have lost bigger too. People don't understand that gambling works both ways. Just be happy that you won something. If you actually made money from gambling, then you are very lucky. It's not only about gamblers, it's human nature, we never get completely satisfied no matter how much we get, especially if it's about money and valuables. We might have an aim, we might say to ourselves that we won't ask for more if we get our aim or goal achieved, but that's not true, and as soon as we hit the goal, the greed inside us wakes up and starts asking for more, and it convinces us in thinking that we still don't have enough and there is more we can get if we try.

It's a bad thing, but most humans are like this. You can barely find a person who will say that they don't need more as they have enough already. When we talk about gamblers, they are human as well, and they have the greed factor in them too which makes them gamble even when they are already in profit because their greed have convinced them that they can get more with what they have.

I agree with what you said about the satisfaction that the OP got even though it was $50 but that is very good because it is very rare to get a win like that and for his friend who hasn't returned the money it shouldn't be a problem because the OP didn't lose much money and anyway later when the money is returned at least he had another budget to gamble with.

If OP had those $10 the very beginning, it does not mean that he would have made same bets. Maybe he would placed $3-4 bet on same outcome and made few hundreds. Gambling is completely based on luck here your luck was on your side due to which you win 50 dollars with 1 dollar. I congratulate you on your victory. That is a great win already but unfortunately he just didn't manage it properly but we can understand how he deal with those situation since he just want to earn more since he think luck still on his side and can easily multiply more the money he won at that time. But he face the reality and also learn a lesson from the mistake he have done since if he could just go away and take what he win for sure he's still happy with the result despite of whatever happened there. I do not borrow people money that I can not afford to borrow them. I see money I borrow people as a lost money. If a friend is truly worth borrowing money, I borrow him or her the amount I can afford to lose.
