Retirement is the time one should enjoy the benefits for  the years of actively working or serving a boss inorder to retire at an age as this.
No much risky business to spend frivolously on should be attempted and if there's still a passion to pursue a dream, please do, because the next of kin would be waiting to inherit all we had worked for without as little as a  thought .

Enjoying retirement will be better by doing things that are useful for ourselves because if we have retired and are still chasing dreams that we still cannot achieve, of course this will really tire us out, as you said if we do too much work. Absolutely right! as we've grow older, sometimes it's quite difficult to achieve our dreams and we only go to the things that are helpful for us to survive, but it depends to a person because sometimes the things that they really want is the things that will help them to enjoy their retirement days. it gives them a satisfaction and fullfillment which is equivalent of relaxations in their life.

the idea of working nonstop until my retirement comes terrifies me i don’t want to spend my entire life confined deep in work and not to be able to appreciate life while i’m still young i feel like if i wait until retirement to really have an adventure i would regret it but i would not be able to do anything since i can’t possibly go back in time

You shouldn't have to wait until you quit working to find happiness and enjoy life. 

The old idea of working hard for years just to relax when you're old has become increasingly outdated.  The world is transforming quickly, and that plan for retirement might not work down the road.  Instead of only working to save up for later, you should look into making money other ways too.  With the internet and stuff now, you can earn passively and still do what you love.  Why wait until you have gray hair to start living fully? Do it now while you have the energy and inspiration.  There are options now to earn good money doing what you love if you're willing to think outside of the old retirement box.

if you want to retire you can do what you did before but couldn't do it because there was no time or something was a priority at the time and you couldn't do it.
Ordinary people will garden, fish, raise animals.

Everyone has to take a break from working life at a certain time, Because then at that age there will be no more energy and ability to work ,that is retirement. I also have a dream to make garden and I will make a fish farm. But I can't confirm that at the moment because I have to enough money at that time to do these things.

For me, the term retirement refers to not being forced to do any work, so that if I do not go to work, I will not struggle to pay the rent or buy the necessities of the day. It may not necessarily mean getting older as much as having enough money for the rest of my life if I decide to live a normal life. Or in other words, according to my country, the amount of $2,500 is sufficient for an average life, and therefore I consider retirement as my obtaining one million and $200,000 as sufficient costs for 40 years from now.

If you don't have a job, no boss or manager will force you to work to get paid. It is still possible to have a job and not being forced to do the work. I'm talkin about free-lancing jobs. We are our own boss and manager here, in a way that we can work anytime that we like.

Not working and at the same time not struggling for the expenses is also possible. Just marry a rich partner , or just build a profitable business. Indeed, we don't need to be old to decide for a retirement but to have an enough money is necessary. $2.5k per year seems cheap but acquiring $1.2m dollars seems insane. And there is still no assurance if we can still live for the next 40 years.

it's true like that, retirement is better used as well as possible by doing useful things or by relaxing, but try to think about this, "work hard when young so that old age can relax to enjoy the results". i myself have this principle, by always working hard to produce what I want. of course so that when I retire I can enjoy the results of my hard work, because I don't want my retirement to be used to relax but not enjoy the results or nothing is produced from working hard.

My view on retirement in my locality, they don't want to retire just because they want to rest or spend time with their family, from my observation old men don't want to get retired but not all it depends on the pay cause after retirement not all companies pay for pension especially private companies and when there is no proper money or investment during the early age they can't afford the standard of living, this is where the problem lies, I know a lot of retired workers and they never wanted to stop working they left cause the job has an age limit.
The other set they just don't want to stop working because of the love of the job and they end up decreasing their age before applying for the job, we find people like this in the government sector but definitely people like this will get old and can't work.

When I retire I hope to become a venture capitalist sort of like those investors we watch during shark tank series. That is what I truly aspire to do when I retire. In my culture, retirement doesn't really mean stop working, it means "stop working for money", and those are different things. If you stop working, then you do need to have some money to be able to not work and still be able to live, so they do look the same, but retired person who has money enough to be able to stop working but still does whatever they want is considered retired as well.

I know plenty of people who has enough money to stop working and just sit at home all day, but that's very boring to do for many years, you can't just sit at home until you die, you need to go out do something if you are capable, of course many who are 80+ years old do stop working, but you may retire at 60, that's too young to stop working, so they just end up doing something they like, even if it is taking care of the garden all day, doesn't matter, it could be a job, it could be anything. My dad is 60+ years old, he can retire with the money he has, but still works at his job for the past 20 years.

Don't consider every person who is still at work when they reached a retirement age; as greedy, like I said in my last or previous comment, what is keeping them in that office could be passion, that is, love for what they do, we have many people like that.

Here in my area, I know of an old man who still goes to work, he owns the company, has more than enough money to just relax and enjoy life before he dies, but his driver still drives him to work every day from monday to Friday..

Can you still say this man is greedy? Of course not, he owns the company like I said, if he relaxes at home, he wil still be making his money, but then, he decided to keep working, possibly because, he loves his job as the CEO of the company, and having to relate with his workers every day makes his day fulfilled. So many people are like this.
