In my submission, older men enjoy gambling for fun the more. The reasons will be considered hereunder;

First, a man who has gambled for years must have gathered experiences over time which helps him have self-control in the game. This will go a long way toward preventing him from involving in gambling-related crimes. For younger boys, it is easy for them to be trapped in the web of gambling and that can manifest in engaging in social vices like stealing and alcoholism.

Secondly, older men can gamble for fun because most of them have the funds to gamble, unlike the younger boys who might still be dependants.

Thirdly, from the age bracket given, most of the older men might have retired from their jobs so gambling becomes a way to ease their stress and remain functional. Younger boys are faced with a lot of challenges that come at that age and adding gambling to it might not be entertaining.

Older gamblers are more of experienced in gambling than the younger gamblers and the more your experiences is advanced is the more tolerable your emotional abilities is nurtured and grown to be controlled and tolerate with whatever that comes out of your gambling.

Hence, older men are likely to settle down when predicting while younger guys are hasty to predict and so their eagerness to make profits in the gambling is measured by their forces while gambling. And so when an older gambler looses his stakes, he just laughs over it and not pointing at the money he lost but he makes his points and figures errors towards the teams and the individual players that got the team to loose which got his prediction a failed one. In my personal opinion, this is actually very relative and age sometimes cannot be used as a definite benchmark for whether older men gamble more for fun or vice versa. Because it all depends on the situation and condition of the person (old/young).

But if we are talking about the majority here, maybe the answer I give will be the same or neutral. Because as far as I know, there are many elderly people who make their gambling activities a pleasure. However, quite a few young men gamble for fun too. So the essence is the same. Because in my personal opinion, gambling can be said to be an activity for fun. Both for parents and for young people. Because if you think deeper, everyone definitely wants pleasure when gambling. Because by gambling sometimes the problems you experience are a little forgotten. Apart from that, when we make a profit, that is where we will get the highest level of pleasure in gambling. Maybe if someone says that he gambles just for fun without caring about winning, you can be sure that person is lying. Because whoever the person is, whatever wealth they have, and whatever their age, they will definitely be a little sad when they lose at gambling.

Okay! from my perspective its the older men. Yeah for some reason which I will list below, I believe they gamble more for fun than the younger men:

[1] The older men from 60 years and above gamble more for because at that age this people tend to be fulfilled already. having achieve a level of status they may not longer be interested in making so much money as the younger men would do.

[2] At the age of 60 most old men will only be in search for what makes them happy in order to enjoy they're retirement and the remaining days of their lives. while the younger men will be in search for what will also make them happy too but most time what ever isn't bring or adding money to a young man's wallet isn't making him happy already.

[3] At the age of 60 the older men have less responsibility to carry so wouldn't have any more intention on anything else. but for younger men at the age of 45 and below always have this pressure in them that makes them go extra miles on everything, and most time the older are also included in the pressure of younger men. e.g when your dad is retire the children now has the responsibility to take good care of them so the younger men had much to do than the older men. since gambling offer both fun and funds the younger men will indulge in it for the both reason and older men will for just one reason which is fun.

I hope this three reason of mine will blend in with everyone's reason.

You're absolutely right,I also considered the old men as a set of people who enjoyed the fun to the fullest,because most of them started this gambling stuff right from when they where once a youth like us,up till now they are still on it,but they never get addicted to gambling due to some  experience they have,they know the secret about gambling.

But nowadays most of our youths who happens to be a gambler,i think they are not using there initiatives reason is because they don't realized what gambling is all about,instead they see it the other way round.

More especially those of our youth who are into virtual sports,they can decide to spend the whole of the day in a bet shop without even considering the fact that they has wife and children that they needs to attend to.

I don't know why you didn't consider the 45 - 60 years old. Is it another category or something? Because I know there are a lot of people that gamble at that age.

If we were to consider gambling, I think it's more older people because they have a lot of money and more time I guess that's why the number of gamblers is more on the higher number side.

In terms of enjoyment, I think it's the same because there are a lot of immature people that are young, maybe they just want to win and it's not gonna give them any more fun.

This is actually a difficult question to answer given that there are players who have different views and perspectives when it comes to gambling in which age is irrelevant.

For example, a young gambler may enjoy gambling and experiencing that adrenaline despite having a limited amount of money due to the obligations that they do not need to fulfill. On the other hand, there may be adult gamblers who view gambling as a way to release stress which eliminates profit as a factor.

Funny, probably the missing link   I see Op didn't cover this age bracket and who knows where they fall in the age scheme, like middle older young age or middle old age  

Anyway, for the reasons I think in my head, the old will gamble more for fun than the young. This is with the age classification mentioned for the aged, they are probably having lesser financial challenges to take up and so they are at the stage of live where they are relaxed, do lesser physical jobs, probably advised by their physicians to always do exercise and fix themselves with whatever that will make them happy and reduce pressure on their heart.

The older people probably have more stable income than the young so even when they lose, they may not feel the financial pressure. They are either retirees who receive pension. In fact, it goes down to being more financial stability in investments and source of income.

I enjoyed it when I was young and now when I am almost 40... but it's not the same kind of enjoyment, and now I am not risking as I used to. As we grow we get to experience different perspectives, and that change our behavior and way of thinking. So I am not sure who "enjoys more", but definitely there is something in "young & crazy" and in "old & wise", when we are young we hurry and run and there's some fun in that, as we get old things become slower and we don't have the same expectations.

It's not the same when we are young and old, years matter, so each of us needs to experience it and to to enjoy the moment while it lasts!

But yes, that's true, that's what happened. I'm almost 40 years old and I think of it more as a gambling game to have fun, in contrast to young players who are usually beginners who haven't learned from their experiences which ultimately makes them sometimes make wrong decisions. I'm a beginner in this game. Several years ago I also had an experience like that of making decisions too quickly and ending up making unnecessary mistakes resulting in spending a lot of money losing on gambling.

But after learning a lot and the longer I gambled, the more experience I took away, that is, every defeat made me more mature and made me realize many things. That's not what I actually want to win and a lot of money from gambling, but I can play and enjoy the game so it should be fun for me. Honestly, I agree with you. Older gamblers are more experienced and can enjoy gambling without being greedy and chasing losses, while young gamblers are more emotional, greedy and like chasing losses. I think this happens because young people still have strong emotions while older people can control their emotions better. However, this is just my speculative opinion, the reality is not guaranteed and age cannot be the basis for which of them is more responsible in gambling.

I think the old man will have more fun in gambling.

Many old men do not really give a shart about their money anymore. Especially those with bad families that do not deserve any inheritance. So what does an old guy do with his fortune? Gambling is definitely a fun option, I would think. And gambling losses do not really hurt him.

On the other hand, the young man is a risk-taker. He is at the age of wanting to impress women. He thinks that the riskier the behavior, the better. But the young guy does not understand life yet. And his gambling losses will hurt him a lot. I doubt it will be fun for him.

It does make sense to think that much older age was having more fun gambling since at these ages, they are more mature in everything. In that age bracket, most people have surely gambling for a long now, and currently at their peak age, they know already the sides of gambling.

Age 60+ is also at a point where a person is just enjoying everything without the need for necessary work to support his living. They have all the time to gamble and are not worried about other things. Different from the people in the bracket 18-45 years of age where their time is full and need to work on other things to support living.

Older people focus more on whatever activity that makes them happy and gambling is one of them. I have seen quite a number of old men who go out often to gamble.  Even when they lose, they still go home satisfied and are able to put their emotions in check. Yea, no emotions attached when they gamble and it is very healthy for them. This cannot be said about the younger men, especially those in their teens who will feel all emotional if they lose their money. This is because making more money is their only goal ,therefore there is no fun in losing money. Ask any young person why he gambles and he will admit that it is for the money and not for fun. Anyone can enjoy gambling but you see the older folks? They it  more.

I think older gamblers are more likely to enjoy gambling for fun while younger gamblers are looking for profit. But in reality, no one knows, unless we ask them, it could be that the old gambler is a gambling addict so he continues to gamble even though he is old, while the young gambler only enjoys gambling for fun and to fill his free time.

Everyone has their own reasons for gambling and most gamblers definitely want a profit, even though we gamble for fun but still no one likes losing, the difference is whether we are ready to accept loses or not.

In my opinion, older men are more likely to enjoy gambling as an activity done for the sake of fun, instead of the pursue of money. It may be because the young men who like to gamble have more of their way ahead, have more plans and things they would like to do with money. On the other hand, the older gamblers than already love much of their life, they have gone through many of their plans and they are more likely to be retired or living off their retirement funds or pension. Since there is not as much as before to look forward to, they can focus on gambling for fun.
I have been said before by my old family members than money does not Transcent to the afterlife, we only take experiences and memories with us, those kinds of life teachings are understood by the elderly and not by the youth.

I agree with you that older men enjoy gambling for fun more than young ones, because they are more likely to have a fixed source of income and organized financial life, so money for them isn't a challenge or a problem anymore, while on the other hand it can be a big issue for young men who are starting their lives by themselves just now, and have a heavy burden to carry, which can be translated into wife, young children at home, house and car's financing, a career under construction and every other challenges people face when they are young and don't have any guarantees about anything yet.

An old men already has raised his children, built his house, finished his career, so he doesn't have much to worry concerning money, therefore he is free to use the funds he has achieved along his life for his own pleasure right now. If he loses money gambling, it won't be an issue at all, because on the next month he is going to receive his pensioner's wage once again, besides the fact an old man is more limited on his choices, so he won't regret about losing money gambling thinking that he could have used it in another ways. In my opinion, elder age is the right time to gamble.
