I do somewhat agree into this one on which on the moment that you dont have any responsibilities or any priorities in life since you are retired and you have
finished all the studies of your children or simply having zero problems at all then you could really just that purely be able to taste up that pure entertainment that
gambling could possibly give on which you would really be able to enjoy it more since there's no sense of responsibility that you would be having specially on your funds or simply with money.

It is really just that there might be some old people would be that desperate but most likely they arent that too stressful when it comes to their spending.
They are far more experienced on how things in life goes but well younger ones too of course, they do really just that differ when it comes to emotion impulsiveness.

If the older men are in the senior age, I believe they are the group who gamble for fun.  Since they have fulfilled their financial obligation in life and the money that they use as funds for gambling are almost free money,  I think they can gamble with less stress and pressure. While younger boys tend to gamble for profit to lessen the financial burden they are facing.

Older guys are more in the position of not being stressed because there is no further financial obligation ahead since their children can cover those financial needs.  It is highly possible that the pension that they are receiving is free of obligations so they can use it as a bankroll without worries.

But there are many young people who are fully involved in their studies/career or sports or online games (not gambling). My opinion is that it does not depend on age. Not all older people have enough free money to spend it on gambling, I would even say on the contrary, they have already “experienced in life”, so they rather work more to help their children/grandchildren (at least in my country this is the custom).
Probably, young people, due to physiology, get more pleasure from gambling, but again, due to physiology, they are interested in many other pleasures at this age.

I guess younger men have many other more exciting things to do apart from gambling.    For older people it's a nice way to relax, also older people  often have more spare money. Just my 2c.

I think gambling is something that can be enjoyed regardless of age. Here's some examples:

Young children that have maybe just gotten in their teens or even before that sometimes, will obsess over what in game drop them receive whenever there is supposed random chance involved to unlock a virtual item such as a digital in game knife that looks neat or a character skin tnat makes their game avatar appear in a different manner than usual.

It's weird but sometimes these even involve money so even children can gamble these days and sadly if it's for game items it's mostly considered legal. Some young people are even facing symptoms of withdrawal over these matters.

On the other hand, a more seasoned gambler won't need the front of a video game to enjoy his gsmbling activities. He can do it outright simply for the money and still enjoy it. If you think about it, playing cards of dice which are some of the most popular games, are not that interesting in terms of graphics. It's just chances and money. So older people, without any age limit, purify gambling down to it's simplest form and still enjoy it. Each one activity is valuable in terms of enjoyment in its own rite.

Well we can only trust word of older gamblers in this case, because they have been both, young and old so only they would have perspective to answer to this.

But as a someone over 45 i would imagine that i was more excited playing younger, but i wasn't playing that much of for fun, as much i was trying to win big. Now as older, my perspective has changed. I still dream of winning so much my life is set, although my expectations for it actually happening are better adjusted to reality. And while i was more excited, it wasn't always fun. I gained vivid memories for sure, but learned from my losses so that i can now play for fun too.

So i imagine that in 15+ years, if i am still gambling, (and wouldn't i be?) it must be really for fun. As more older i am getting, i am getting better on having my life together and balanced.

Of course i can only speak from myself, but to summarize my point: Younger my definition of fun was more reckless, and i might have thought i played for fun because of it. But older i get, more fun i am having, and less unrealistic expectations.

In terms of liking I honestly can't say who likes gambling more between the elderly or young gamblers, because if both are gambling then obviously young or old if they are confirmed to be involved in gambling then they definitely like this activity, but the question is, who treats gambling more as a fun activity? in this case then I think for the most part and overall then it is the elderly who have more gambling goals for entertainment because you also mentioned that they have more free time than young people who are quite busy with work, but for the problem of point of view on gambling then maybe I would say that young people make more gambling as a place to earn, They still have very big ambitions so it is very possible that they get emotional when they lose, especially if they are basically not gamblers who are responsible for their gambling activities so we can see that lately not a few young people have ended up with addiction in the sense that they cannot miss a moment not to gamble. That may be true, if they worked hard in their youth and have good finances in their old age. Then it is likely that when they gamble in their old age, they already understand the meaning of gambling where they will not question their defeat in gambling, because then maybe they already have experience in gambling that will not question their defeat.

maybe if you are in a retirement age, you will enjoy gambling more because you have nothing else to do and prioritize but your own pleasure, time and happiness. You have more time for gambling and it just also means that you have to watch your spending habits more, even if you say that you have nothing else to do with the money you have, you can also enjoy your life in other things such as travelling different places that you didn't do much before.

Imho the answer is simple here, older men grt more fun in gambling. They have seen everything or a lot in their lives, so having fun and enjoying life what is left for them. Also I would like to say that older men needs less to have than younger generation. They can enjoy simple things, while younger are, spoiled is not the proper word, but it is hard to impress them. It is true that age is not benchmark for gamblers to have the right approach and attitude towards gambling, but on average gamblers who might gamble for fun are those who have had lot of experience and of course these are gamblers who are older.

Talking about fun in the world of gambling, of course my mind immediately thinks of physical/home casinos, if your area has a home casino, you will find many of them are 60-70 years old, it shows that they gamble just for fun.

There is no distinction between who the two groups. Both group enjoy gambling. Longer time spent does not mean that you enjoy it more 'coz you could enjoy gambling even with a few hours especially if you are not having that much of a hard time with it. Entertainment is subjective, of course younger people will have more time to spend in gambling than young ones but  younger people has more enthusiasm to enjoy things regardless of the outcome simply because of their mindset that things will be better eventually. For me, the one who losses less are the ones who are really enjoying their time in this industry ad that doesn't concern one's age.  Imagine you are either in your 20s and 60s but you are continuously losing, would you still say that things are still entertaining and fun? In this case I still believe that younger individuals would be having a more fun perspective. And yes I agree that no classification of a person would be a factor when it comes on perspective of gambling for fun, since it is subjective and only dependent to who views it. Some people stresses with loss and yes, there are some who doesn't simply because they have a good mindet; accepting the worse outcome in every bet which is  the tendency of losing, even before the game starts.
