Are your parents investing in bitcoin ? Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?
My parents are not that educated, it was difficult for me to make them understand about Bitcoin. I gave my parents idea about Bitcoin many times but they didn't understand easily what Bitcoin is. I told my parents that Bitcoin price was very low in 2010, it has increased a lot now and will increase more in the future. At some point my parents got some idea about Bitcoin. But my parents are afraid to invest in bitcoin knowing about the risk of bitcoin, I explained to my parents that long term investment in bitcoin can definitely be profitable. But my father likes to buy land, he buys land only if he has money.

Looks like you want to add seniors to bitcoin.  Your initiative is very good.  It seems that investing here before retirement will make life a little easier for seniors after retirement.  Because parents become a burden to some children in old age.  Talking about parents My parents are not tech dependent.  But they have faith in me.  I made some investments here encouraged by my relative.  But after investing it keeps depreciating from an ATH.  But I didn't panic.  I am waiting  Maybe at some point it will give a bull run.

My parents are not very educated and it will not be an easy task to convince them. They are also far behind in terms of technology. Often parents don't want to invest in something new that they don't understand. They are more committed to traditional investment methods like stocks or bank deposits. Can't convince them that structured deposits in cryptocurrencies. The process is similar to bank deposits. You freeze the funds for a certain period of time and then get your interest.

Are your parents investing in bitcoin ? Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?
My parents didn't invest in Bitcoin and didn't even know what Bitcoin was. They only hear about Bitcoin and don't look for more information about Bitcoin. I once told them what Bitcoin was, but they preferred to know. It is normal for older people to think that they are no longer interested in things related to finance or whatever. They just want to enjoy life in their old age without any burdens so they are not too interested in understanding what Bitcoin is. It doesn't affect what I do in crypto because crypto is different from the work they are known for so it doesn't have any influence.

Not. My parents never knew BTC and its technology, even though my parents are elderly and also have some savings that can be used for investment but I don't want to say that by investing BTC the results are quite rich and satisfying. Let him be busy with his own activities at this time. For myself, BTC is a big and exciting thing and it's a win-win solution in investing now and in the future.

Are your parents investing in bitcoin ? Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?
No, they aren't unfortunately.
Heck they aren't involved in investing in general. They might've heard the most common investment here in our country which is the stock market, but Bitcoin or crypto? No, or if they heard it at least once, they aren't interested on it at all.

Both of my parents are considered senior citizens already, and correct me if I'm wrong, but in their early days, information wasn't that easy to spread unlike now that there's a thing called "internet" where we can just look at the information that we need in just a few searches. Back when my parents were at their 20's-40's probably, they might've haven't heard about investing since they live in the province area, and at that time, there's no such thing as internet.

I want to teach them this time, but it seems like they aren't interested on it at all. What's good is that they might not know investing, but they're good at real estate which - a thing which I'm not that good about. Cheesy

No, they are waiting for our government to make Bitcoin legal in the country before they can start investing in Bitcoin, because they are type of parent who don't like to disobey the law of the country, because they know what will happen when government find decentralized currency in some accounts. I have imparted my parents about Bitcoin when i was living with them which I know that they have the knowledge of Bitcoin but they don't want to invest in Bitcoin based on their job, because they are still working under government which such thing is not allow to government workers. I know that after their pension, they will like to spend their pension funds on Bitcoin investment, because they know the type of wallet to use to hold such huge amount of Bitcoin for future purpose.

No my parents don’t really like bitcoin. They are mostly into the classic stuff like real estate and stocks. I can’t blame them though because they are doing pretty good with those assets. They don’t need to invest in crypto because they can already make money without taking too much risk. Living long enough has benefits like that because time in the markets always beats timing the markets. Ask Warren if you don’t believe me. He made majority of his wealth after he became an elder. He was kind if rich when he was young but as he got older, he became filthy rich.

Even we are waiting for our government to legalize bitcoin but it seems an impossible thing for some countires. Don't need to go in this details but i think most of the old parents aren't fimiliar with bitcoin and have no or little knowledge of it. This is particulatly true for the parents who are above 50. I don't think there is any resistance in adopting bitcoin from parents who are in thier 30s or 40s as they have the capitial to invest in bitcoin and they have the knowledge too.

I have imparted my parents about Bitcoin when i was living with them which I know that they have the knowledge of Bitcoin but they don't want to invest in Bitcoin based on their job, because they are still working under government which such thing is not allow to government workers. The old people usually will limit thier activity under the rules and regulation of the country and this is a good habit. We should all obey the government rules but sometimes there are sitation where government tries to ban the basic right of people like investing and trading in crypto, and in case the govt. officials do this, then people will find ways to bypass the laws and do what is in thier best interest. Just like in my country where government is puting a ban on crypto trading  Sad

If your parents are already investing in the stock market then kudos to them, I don't really know anyone whose parents invest in the stock market. In their case I can understand why they are reluctant to invest in bitcoin, they are already getting good results, why should they take bigger risks? If it ain't broken, don't fix it, this is their case.

Are your parents investing in bitcoin ? Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?

I don't see how important this is, my parents are no longer young that they should be bothered about their future life infact soon they'll depart this earth to a better place so they shouldn't be concerned about what they future holds for Bitcoin to invest in it. My father has owned some Bitcoin but he'll soon sell them and I'm not against that, what he should be bothered about is getting the best out of life before it's too late. The age bracket that should be investing uncontrollable are the youth, technically we have the future ahead of us and need to be financially prepared for it and by investing in Bitcoin we're doing that.

Our parents investing in Bitcoin is less important compared to us investing in Bitcoin or other youths in our family. My parent did invest in what was valuable in their youth years and it favoured them to have a better life for their children. I'm to replicate that by investing in Bitcoin and other valuable assets that I can depend on to make my future journeys relax and not still struggling because I didn't do what was important when I was a youth but wasting my time chasing pleasure. My father owns some Bitcoin but he isn't serious about it like I'm and that's cool.

My father died early and mother also died before I picked up the interest to invest in Bitcoin, although I had the opportunity to discuss with my siblings when I realized that Bitcoin is the way forward in long term investment, but they're still being pessimistic. I think that they are still satisfied with other investments that they are into, not cryptocurrency. I believe that Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are not investments that you can force people to enter, because I don't think that it is for everybody, despite how lucrative that we think they are.

For older people, it is very difficult to believe in Bitcoin investment, they tend to look forward to old age and invest in real estate.
I also experienced almost the same thing but my parents are still around but they are not interested in investing in Bitcoin, now they are enjoying their old age and thinking about their health and I think that's normal.

If we look now, the average person who invests in Bitcoin tends to be young because they believe in a profitable future, whereas for older people, maybe if they have a lot of money they just want to buy several houses or land to pass on to their children and grandchildren.

But my father likes to buy land, he buys land only if he has money.
Well in my opinion, land is also a very profitable investment and something I would want to invest in in the near future. If your parents are not that young anymore, I honestly do not see the point of forcing them to understand bitcoin. If you are an adult and is capable of investing in bitcoin all on your own then you can just do it yourself and not have to bring your parents with you.

It seems like they really don’t understand it anyway so just do your own thing. As long as they are not putting their money in unnecessary trouble then I think that’s okay to not worry about them understanding and investing in bitcoin.

Left with just one parent and trying to convince my mother to invest in bitcoin iis not something i have thought of because i know the kind of person she is and i wouldn’t want to add to her problems because she is not emotionally okay to invest in something that is volatile, she is that kind of a person that will be easily bothered over little things then just imagine how she would react when the price of bitcoin is falling and she seeing her money dropping gradually.

She have once told me about bitcoin and asked me how legit was it and that she heard her co workers talking about it and she would like to invest if it’s not a scam then i told her everything about it and how it works, she only after the profit and didn’t really weigh the risk involved and she only wanted to invest for a short period that she wants profit as soon as possible. From her response i knew she wasn’t ready and she won’t have the patience to withstand bear market and considering her health issues i wasn’t ready to put her into it. I finally concluded not to let her invest when she said she want to take a loan to invest.

Are your parents investing in bitcoin ? Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?

Even now my parents don't understand what Bitcoin is and how I can get it lol. However, there is one habit of theirs that I imitate, they like investing in gold from a young age. I saw that their habits were very worth learning and it was enough to motivate me to invest in Bitcoin. Their consistency and habits made me understand a little about the correct way to invest in an instrument.

I am sure that for us that are not part of the newest generation wouldn’t have parents that are technologically literate. They can barely understand facebook, they wouldn’t have the patience to understand bitcoin let alone actually partake in it.

Once millennials and gen z start having kids then we’d have a whole new generation of kids that will grow up with exposure to cryptocurrency. By then we’d be able to understand what kind of effect does having early exposure to cryptocurrency would have on children.

I've attempted to persuade my father multiple times, but without success.  Back in 2017, he regarded it as a Ponzi scheme and a bubble.  When I mentioned in 2020 that we would likely see another All Time High soon, he remained skeptical and predicted a crash.  Then, in both 2022 and 2023, I informed him that it was undervalued, and I felt sorry for him because he seemed convinced, but lacked the funds to invest.

Presently, our relationship has improved, and I believe I've managed to open his eyes to the potential of this investment opportunity.  However, his income isn't sufficient for him to save anything substantial.   Sad

Are your parents investing in bitcoin ?
What? Smiley If the words "blockchain, crypto, bitcoin" were said at the same time, my parents would think that someone was trying to summon a demon. Smiley

In my region, for most older people, investment means buying real estate and a bank account with meager interest. What can we say about thebitcoin if parents are lost in navigating the smartphone, and the PC is the technology of past highly developed civilizations? Smiley Most parents (of the older age group and not only) are like this.

Has it impacted your journey with crypto ?
Absolutely not.
