Don't get me wrong, Imane has 9 losses in her career, she is not some super human, if a male fought these ladies he would destroy them unless he is some weakling, this woman is a woman, but she has a disease that makes her incredibly strong compared to any other woman, there are only a few hundred to thousand people who has this disease and none of them are boxers, just Imane Khalif, so everyone thought she was transgender. Both sides are wrong, no she is not transgender, she wasn't born a male and transitioned, but she is also not any regular woman neither, so it's still unfair.

I'm curious how many in sports are old enough to remember her:

Yeah, definitely a she, and still holds the 800m  record from 1983!
I wonder what would happen if she would compete now,of course setting aside the thing everyone knew she was taking something for sure, but at different times, harder to prove doping then.

Still, the problem with Imane Khelif  is her testosterone levels, we have a previous case of a pure female banned for those levels:
https://edition.cnn.com/2023/11/06/sport/caster-semenya-totestosterone-limits-world-athletics-spt-intl/index.html
they allowed Khelif to participate without this test.

I felt really sorry for the opposing boxer, just imagine... preparing for years and years and then during an Olympic competition this happens... fighting against an athlete who failed the gender test, Angela Carini must be feeling the worst feeling in the world, which is injustice...

Even if Imane Khelif is not transsexual, she has testosterone levels that are much higher than normal, so in my opinion, this should be equivalent to doping, that is, she would not be able to fight or compete in these Olympics under any circumstances... it is comparable to some kind of cheating to win.

I don't when it has become a crime to win an Olympic boxing fight. Some people have been using both social media and other news channels to speak badly about the Algerian female boxer.

These attackers of Imane Khelif are either biased, misinformed or have racist tendencies. They are talking as if Angela Carini was thrown into the ring to fight a man. Khelif might have faced some difficulty in the past in proving her sex, but she is not a superwoman. She has lost nine fights and even lost in the last Olympics fighting against women. Using the case of an unprepared boxer who decided to throw in the towel after 46 seconds to discredit the Algerian is not acceptable. Would there be an outcry from these racists if it was the Italian that won the fight?

The Olympic committee has stated that she passed the criteria to compete in the competition. She should be given the support to continue and not be distracted by these unwarranted attacks.

Heh, social media has come to BTT. Just get over shit and deal with whatever decision and result comes by. I seriously doubt people complained as much before as they do today. Want to get gold? Do whatever it takes, but do not be a crybaby.

Now, are France going to spank Argentina properly in the second half? I don't know. I'm going to bed.

Am too that old when it comes to the Olympics games and competition but I won't lie, if you hadn't mentioned that this person is a her then I would have thought that this is definitely a man and I think there is also a similar case with a boxer in this present Olympic games although I don't really know the names but despite the fact that her testerone levels are way up making her physique more like a man she is still allowed to participate although don't know if the boxer is also the type of athlete that takes stuff to increase their strength.

And next is about the boxing in the women's division that have got an issue.
It's really disgusting that he's allowed to fight in this year, previous Olympic he was not allowed since he failed the testosterone test. Too bad for Angela Carini, she start her debut since 2013, fighting for 108 times and she said she never got punched so bad like this one. If in the next year they still allow male to fight with female, it's better for them to mix male and female in every sports. So, women will get used to train with men and know how hard it's, at least they will know if they able to fight with men or not.

Even Imane Khelif win the match, but Angela Carini win in people's heart.
I wouldn't still agree if there's a mix male-female for the category of females. This is an outright punch to the federation of Olympics for allowing this to happen. They should give an honorary award to Angela Carini for standing and still fought that guy for 45 seconds.

He's a badass and he's now viral on the internet. From pages that I have been following and articles that are covering the Olympics, he's what I am seeing all about. I won't be surprised if this sergeant will get a lot of offers to be part of some badass movies out there like part of James Bond or those movies where Vin Diesel is part of. He seems to be fitting those tough men whether a villain or a friend of the protagonist.

And next is about the boxing in the women's division that have got an issue.
He became famous on a global scale. He has a great charisma. Also, fighting for a gold medal and acting so cool requires great composure. Yusuf Dikeç would have been talked about more if he had won the gold medal, but it was amazing that he fought like this even in the silver medal.
That's true, he became popular and has got that charisma thanks to whoever has taken those images of him. And you're right, he went for the gold medal with that stance and no equipment except earplugs but fell short and got still, silver medal.

As for the women's boxing match, it was reported that another athlete, Busenaz Sürmeneli (the last Olympic champion), and an Algerian boxer who was in the same category, had previously been banned from the competition by the IBA, saying that it would be unfair competition and sent a letter to the Olympic Committee explaining this. Interestingly, the Olympic Committee did not see any harm in her fighting by disobeying the IBA's decision. The Italian boxer quited from the match in 46 seconds, and thus her other opponents will also withdraw from the matches, thinking about their lives. There is unfair competition in this category. I think that athletes from other countries should not compete at all. Thus, the Olympic Committee may reconsider its decision.
That's really unfair, men and women shouldn't box. How did the Olympic committee allow this to happen. While everyone is liking what's happening for their representatives getting their own gold medals, on this category, it's a shame to the organization.

I can’t say that I’m surprised this is happening in this Olympics. From the opening ceremony, it was obvious that this Olympics was going to be inclusive of all genders and groups. I think it’s unfair to the biological women that they will have to go against a male in a combat sport. I have been following the story since yesterday and some people are saying Imane Khelif isn’t trans. The whole story is just so weird. I hope we get all the facts right before their next fight.
It's really unfair, the musculinity power of men and women are unequal. And Angela said on an interview that she's never been punched like that by a men. The power punches of women to women are equal but not with this case.

Alcatraz has had djokovic's number lately.  I'm not a huge tennis guy but I love top competition.  Think this no matter what will be djokovic's highest medal even if he loses.  Seems like this was the gold medal match everyone wants to see.  It's been a pretty good Olympics so far with track and field just starting up.  Haven't bet at all but thinking about hitting the 100m and 200m dashes. Will make it more interesting.

huh? Imane Khelif is not a man, she was born a woman and Identified as a woman all her life, the issue was her high testosterone which is because of the medical she has. Imane Khelif also competed in the Tokyo Olympics and no one batted an eye during that time, I find it weird that a lot of people are in an uproar because a woman who naturally has high testosterone who previously competed in the Tokyo Olympics beat another woman in under 46 seconds.

Leon Marchand has established himself as a legend in the Olympics by winning 2 back to back golds in a matter of hours which even someone like Phelps never achieved and that speaks volumes.

This dude doesn't look like he is in the mood to stop anytime soon and I guess he will win some more medals before this Olympics edition concludes.

Prior to the Olympics, I didn't know about him. For someone that missed majority of the swimming events but still see Leon Marchand getting crown with a gold medal every single time. It's really impressive to say the least. What even interesting is that he didn't just win one category but had to do it more than two times to show that it wasn't a mistake that he got the gold medal the first time.  I will keep watching him to see if he gets to win any more medal but even if he doesn't, he already has his place in the history books.

We knowwho will fight for gold in tennis - it's Calros Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic who both won theirsemifinals without much trouble. It will be played on Sunday, while on Saturday Dona Vekic and
Qinwen Zheng will fight in wommen competition.
In football we know all semifinalists - it's Morocco - Spain and France - Egypt. Morocco and Spain had easy game, while Egypt reached semifinal only after semifinals.
Athletics competiotions started, today there was mainly qualification rounds and just one final - 10 000m where Joshua Cheptegei took gold.

This guy is dominating in swimming pool. It's already his 4th gold in Olympics. And in Individual Medley he was just 0.06 second saway from Michael Phelps world record.

He's just 22 years old and have achieved a lot till now. 4 golds in the same edition is unbelievable. He won golds in Men's 200m Breaststroke, Men's 200m Butterfly, Men's 200m Individual Medley and Men's 400m Individual Medley. BTW, some credit should be given to the Americans as well, since Léon Marchand is a resident of Arizona, and also part of the Arizona State University swim team. And he first came to limelight during the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.

While everyone is liking what's happening for their representatives getting their own gold medals, on this category, it's a shame to the organization.

It isn’t just high testosterone. He has the chromosomes of a man. Many think that is what determines sex. Even if it was just a testosterone issue though, it still wouldn’t be fair. People are supposed to win at the Olympics because they’re the best in the world at what they do. Not because they have advantages over other competitors.

I am curious if you are just talking about hormones because this statement would basically disregard all the achievements of athletes who have biological advantages towards other athletes in the sports they are participating in.

They have made significant changes in their approach towards the match, they must have indeed learned form their loss to Egypt, but that said Japan also hit the woodwork a couple of times and had some decent chances of the their own, they just could find the back of the next.

The blunders that Spain made when playing against Egypt really taught them a lesson. Whoever the opponent is, they still can't be careless because it could be the beginning of a nightmare. Spain will play Morocco in the semifinals, and it looks like it will be quite a tough match for both teams.

Quote
Egypt have also just restored parity against Paraguay, Paraguay had taken the lead mid way into the 2nd half and looked like they'll be running away with it, but not just yet says the Egyptians as this could be headed for an extra 30 minutes of play.

This really turned out to be a very rough match because both teams did not hesitate to commit fouls so that their opponents could not penetrate easily. The performance of the two teams is also not much different. It's just that when the match entered the final minutes, it was quite clear that Egypt had better stamina and motivation than Paraguay.

I saw a single-hoop 3x3 basketball match for the first time in the Olympics and I liked it very much.
Serbia won the match between Serbia and Poland 21-12. After this match, there was a match between USA and China and USA won the match 21-17.
I don't know if there was such a branch in the previous Olympic Games, but I liked it very much.
My favorite in this branch is Serbia.

Alcaraz and Djokovic in the final yet again. It's just amazing seeing an injured Djokovic make it to the finals of the Wimbledon and Olympics recently which speaks volumes about his insane athletic ability.

I feel that Alcaraz will win yet again, but Djokovic would still get silver. Both are winners either way and am really excited for the final. Go Carlos! Vamos!

Isn't it true that so far there are no special regulations that do not allow a woman who has chromosomes or testosterone to become an athlete, I personally think that what happened to Imane Khelif is very sensitive and requires a lot of consideration in decision making to determine whether she is worthy of boxing or not, because in this modern era there will be many negative impacts that occur when it comes to gender issues, nowadays we see a lot of people having bad opinions about Imane Khalif just because of her ability and strength which may be on par with male boxers, but she is still a woman and deserves to be fighting with women, the excess testosterone he currently has gives rise to a lot of controversy in his victory and the majority of us judge him as a transgender without seeing the real truth.

We consider him inappropriate to fight a woman just because he has chromosomes or testosterone like a man, so does he have to fight a man even though he was born a woman, doesn't that also seem unfair to the gender equality that continues campaign by west  today?

I am truly outraged by what happened, two athletes were thrown into the storm where the only ones who created problems were the clubs and those who hosted the games, let's say that it was both of their faults, she should have fought and not given up immediately it's the box, not a dance theater, while the other fighter Iman had to become aware that there is definitely something strange about her, having said that the victims are the two athletes and we are all the executioners!

We consider him inappropriate to fight a woman just because he has chromosomes or testosterone like a man, so does he have to fight a man even though he was born a woman, doesn't that also seem unfair to the gender equality that continues campaign by west  today?

This is not a big concern if we are talking a non-contact sports. But this is woman boxing while the subject in discussion has a DSD which means he has abnormal development for male.

Woman strength has its based limit while this athlete is clearly above everyone due to its abnormal state. He is taking advantage of this fact to dominate the sports that is capped with woman strength.

Woman division is sensitive because unlike men, they have more fragile body and limited strength due to the body limit.
