Turkish Super League 2024/25 Season

Tomorrow night is the Super Cup match.
It will be played between Galatasaray the last champion of the Super League and Beşiktaş the last champion of the Turkish Cup.
My favorite is Galatasaray but it's hard to say for sure because it's a derby.
May the one who plays well win and get the cup.

Now we have few hours left in this Super Cup as Galatasaray is going to face well organized and fully changed Besiktas things are looking tense before this game because there are serious concerns about Galatasaray defense issues as they are conceding goals things are looking not good for them because they need to be sorted out this before it creates problems for them in this season while we have Fenerbahçe and Besiktas at their best for having challenging season.

In last few games, Galatasaray easily outclass Besiktas, but now we have good improvement into squad, and they are investing good amount for having quality players which will surely going to have good impact on their performance and this could be not easy for the Galatasaray to have win in this game and upcoming matches as Super League is going to have first game on 9th August between Galatasaray vs Hatayspor.

We shouldn't see Galatasaray like the same as the previous season yet. Because it is a new season and we never know how they will start. In the same way, this is valid for Beşiktaş as well.

Maybe Beşiktaş might play better and win this match tonight. I'm really curious about Rafa Silva and Immobile now. If at least one of these 2 players start well then Galatasaray had better be ready for a tough challenge.

I really admired Rafa Silva last season. Although he was 30+, he still had amazing contribution with goals + assists.    I'm still surprised how Beşiktaş got him so easily. I thought there would be others to intervene.

Beşiktaş seems to have found the right coach. Giovanni Van Bronckhorst has added energy to the team. By the way Nelsson was terrible. This isn't the first time he is doing this kind of unbelievable things. I believe a better centre-back can be found to replace him.

Yesterday's score still feels like a dream. I think Galatasaray's biggest mistake is that they have reached championship saturation and they didn't make the transfers this year. They couldn't keep their squad and Icardi is mentally broken after breaking up with his girlfriend. His mind is not on football, that's obvious. Except for Batshuayi, there was no new name on the pitch for them. Nelsson's mistakes are not even made by players from the lower leagues.
On the other hand, everyone has to give credit to Beşiktaş. The right transfers, the right coach and the right tactics combined to produce such a score. We can see that Beşiktaş will be very hungry for the championship this season and will fight to the end. I think Fenerbahçe will also be eager, after all they haven't been champions for 11 years. Galatasaray, on the other hand, might get championship fatigue and fall behind early in the league. I don't think Okan Buruk will be able to complete the season. He will either resign or be fired.

Beşiktaş played a great game, to be fair. Galatasaray's failure to make transfers this season and trusting the current squad was one of the abnormalities the club did. Beşiktaş had a sensational win last night. I am sure no one expected this sensational result. It was tough for me to watch the match last night. We are still at the beginning of the season. In this period footballers cannot reach the maximum of their performance. That's why I won't create expectations for the next season based on the result of this match. But we should have been ready for this match in the friendly matches. I think Okan Buruk is responsible for this match and the bad result. He should have prepared the team for this match. We wouldn't have conceded 5 goals if we had been more ready. This score is a disgrace beyond defeat.

I was wondering what position there was regarding VAR in the match played yesterday.

2- second strange and terrible event: they conceded 2 goals in 2 minutes. Yes, it is something very strange, it seems like the scenario of the first event in which they conceded a goal after just 1 minute, I am wondering how they conceded 2 goals in just 2 minutes, when I watch the highlights of the game to understand why they conceded 2 goals in 2 minutes I laugh at the way they conceded the goals. I honestly think it was a lack of form of the Galatasaray players, we will see if that is really what happened when the league games start.

Congratulations to Beşiktaş, starting the official games with this great victory and achievement is something very motivating for the players, maybe they can have a good chance of winning the title this time, they have a good squad and played very well in this game.

In this season we are having good and positive changes at the top because we have huge investments from the Besiktas and Fenerbahçe; this brings good challenge for the defending champions Galatasaray and their first game result is showing how terrible they are so it's going to be interesting how they will manage in all season after having this humiliating start of new season.

In last few years, we are having good development in Super League and teams are investing funds for improving their quality and having better performance in UEFA events things like these are going to be good for the league and Turkey because now it is good time for them to having improved ranking in UEFA where they are standing at the 9th and can do better in coming years with their improved quality and performance.

Yes, several team that have played each match, whether in the Europa League qualifiers or the Conference League, have shown their prowess and have really improved quite bit compared to last season.

PAOK is a Greek team, we don't understand why you said that. Of course the championship will be between three teams again. The other teams have no chance. A few Anatolian clubs have been champions in recent years, but those were extreme cases. This year, considering Galatasaray's saturation and underperformance, the race seems to be between two teams. Galatasaray and Fenerbahce fought for the title last season and I have no doubt that they will be among the best teams in the league this season. Beşiktaş made some good signings in the transfer window. They had a very good win against Galatasaray in the Super Cup match. Last season they had no presence in the league. But this season they proved that they can be part of the championship race. Başakşehir are among the teams that have won the league title before. They also made good transfers this season. But I don't expect to see them in the race for the top this season.

Galatasaray have signed Gabriel Sara from Norwich City. Gabriel Sara scored 14 goals and 13 assists in the Championship last season. I think he is a very important signing. Galatasaray will pay 18 million Euros to Norwich City for this transfer.

PAOK is not a Turkish team. In my opinion, Galatasaray, Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe are bigger teams than PAOK

We are still in the elimination phase of European matches, the opponents are quite weak in these matches. It is very normal that Turkish teams are winning these matches easily. Success in European matches has started to decline in recent years, which is why we watch so many knockout matches. Actually, we have much stronger teams, but we are going through some unlucky years

Beşiktaş is doing very well in friendly matches, they have played 4 friendly matches, had 1 loss, 2 wins and 1 draw. When M. E. Hekimoğlu did second goal his team won the match because before the score of both teams was equal . Team gave their hundred percent and won the match easily by 2-1 goals.

To be fair, it looked like it wasn't what Galatasaray is capable of, that game isn't really a proof that Galatasaray is a bad team or will be a bad team all season long. They had one terrible game, and Leverkusen had that too last year remember? They went like 51-52 unbeaten games, and then lost to Atalanta 3-0 at the very last game, decisive heavy victory for Atalanta that game, does that mean Leverkusen was bad? Of course not, no team that goes 50+ unbeaten games is bad, it just means they played one bad game.

We still don't know if galatasaray will be terrible, but they have some players who are coming in, and they should use Zaha a lot more, Kerem isn't good at all and yet they keep on insisting playing him for some reason, Zaha was injured last year for a while so I understand why he didn't play, but he is healthy, so they should play him. With Davinson Sanchez, new right back, Zaha on left wing, and Gabriel Sara, I think they will be quite good, go for the title again a third time.
