If one set an amount they want to win and stop playing then make sure to stand by his/her words then they can maintain their stand when they get to their desired amount  however, it is always hard for most gamblers to maintain their words when they have reached their desired amount of winning as majority always want to continue especially when more winnings are coming and when they start losing they will also want to get back at that previous amount they won but they still keep losing.

Gambling is about being disciplined then you won't have many problems just like I do, I gamble every week with an allocated amount each week so if I exhaust the amount I allocated for any of the weeks, no matter the temptations that may arise I don't go above my allocated amount till the following week again. I agree, it is quite tough to make it work one way or another and I feel like it is going to cause some concern for some people as well. Think about it this way, if you keep on winning then a lot of people will think that they are playing on free money and that is going to be the problem. The best way to see money that you earn extra as "debt", it could be debt to yourself if you want but debt nevertheless. The end result is simple; you take the money you "owe" and that way you keep gambling with whatever you end up having.

Not wrong of you to say greed is also a cuasal to why gamblers would act that way not walking a away in a win situation. But just a reminder that I didn't rule out that fact that there are gamblers that would be very conscious enough to walk away but just as you had said they are not in the majority and that's not cool for me.

I just want to add that though some of these gamblers that would still want to keep gamblers even after sessions of wins, not all fall under the greed category, some just get carried away by the excitement of the game at the moment. We must stick to the fundamental idea that will not spending a lot of money when playing gambling because that can makes us wants to continue playing gambling even if we already lose some money.
