In the two legs only Manchester United need to focus on a good performance especially I would ask them to focus more on their defence. Manchester United will have to play in such a way that they do not fall behind in goals. Manchester United will succeed in attacking against them when the opposition cannot score.

They should focus on defending is crap, they have not been bad when it comes to defending themselves this season,  I mean since Ruben Amorim came in, I also think the same with EtH. Converting chances has been the bigger issues they have but recent games have seen them scoring goals. Good thing Manchester still have a club captain that can score and assist. It must be said that those were different times and Manchester United played a different kind of football and were much stronger, now the level has dropped a lot, but we are still talking about Manchester United, a great team that must win to return to the top of Europe

this is really a keen observation about Manchester United defensive your are really right about Ruben Amorim and Erik ten Heg took charge, the last time cheaked Manchester United defensive has shown an excellent performance, regardless the upcoming matches with Lyon's, Manchester United past meeting resulting they might have a good chance of beating or knocking them out.

Head to head doesn't make sense when it is European teams playing each other. It is even funny, those are just last 5 games, with one of them the most recent being in 2023 and the last one is 2004. Some of those players might literally dead. I do not see why head to head matters in these type of games, it obviously doesn't matter, and should be ignored.

What matters is their games this season, and if they played against any similar teams before, then that matters too. I saw how Lyon plays, and I saw how United plays, I can tell you that even on a bad day, United is still not that bad, but on a good day, they are so much better than Lyon, not even close. So that is why I will bet on United to win both games this time.

This is exactly what I think the Manchester United team needs right now cause they already got some good defensive skills lately in their games but the team needs more players doing those crazy finishes like them Bruno, the team has improved in their touches but their ability to convert their chances to score goals is the major problem of the team right now and I believe if the improvement is taken the team will have a better chance against Lyon. From the head to head statistics you could see that Manchester United has an edge over Lyon I believe they have what it takes to knock them out to qualify for the semi finals.

Lyon lose 4:2 against Strasbourg tonight could it be that it was because of the Europa league they are playing with Manchester united that made them not to really press much or is it that they reserved players, I didn't watch the match  but I think first half Lyon was dominating not until they concede a goal and another and on the second half and then everything begins to fall apart. There Is something my elderly people use that say you don't use because of the weather and throw away water you reserve thinking and hoping it will rain and if the reason for there result tonight was because of Manchester united then it will be somehow for them.

Football made easy for the Red Devils? I don't think so because they've face fierce oppositions, suffer but at the end of the day, they succeed in knocking out their rivals and every day, they're on3 step closer. Manchester United have face quite challenges this season and they've managed to thrash clubs without hesitation. The Red Devils have been exceptionally brilliant when it comes to performance and with the aides of Ruben Amorim, they're heading straight to the final. They've quite alot to accomplish this season and it's a matter of time before we could be able to spot them in the trends of Europa.

I think Lyon will not let United get a win. Of course Lyon will try hard to get a win as the host in the first leg because it will give them an advantage in the second leg. If it is seasons ago when Manchester United played better and had experienced coach like Jose Mourinho, I can agree with your thinking. Now in 2024 - 2025 season, with big crisis in Manchester United and with a young head coach like Amorim as well as his bad management and results so far in the club, I am very pessimistic about Manchester United chance in quarter final matches against Lyon.

Lyon are no longer a dominating club in Ligue 1 but Manchester United have their own quality decline too and their declines make this match more balancing, then very unpredictable. Amorim can use tactics that he sees fit but Manchester United players have very inconsistent performances in this season. With only two matches in quarter final, if they show off inconsistency and poor performances, they will be out of Europa League and Lyon will move next.

If it were under different circumstances, I would have agreed with you that Man United would win Lyon without any problems because Lyon, too, is not in a good form currently. They seem to have been better as the season progressed, but they're till not in top form, so if United were in top form, they would have won, but they're not.
We saw how it was difficult for United to win Sociedad, and that is how most of the games they won have been. They struggle to score and defend well. The red card Sociedad got in the second leg was what turned the game around.

If Manchester United want to win the UEL, they have to get better because teams like Atletic Bilbao and Lazio won't make it easy for them. Those are very good teams that can break United's heart.

Definitely, United should be able to win Lyon hands down both home and away. Lyon is undergoing some challenges in the club and that will affect their performance. United is becoming strong recently and if they play in their best form, victory is sure for them. I just hope they don't mess things up and disappoint their fans.

I have the confidence that Manchester United will scale through this stage of the Europa league by defeating Lyon both home and away. Lyon is still going through a tough time now while Manchester United is almost out of their issues which gives them the advantage in that match. Lyon was defeated yesterday by Strasbourg by 4:2 which was a big surprise to many people who expected Lyon to win. Manchester United will take advantage of the situation to progress to the next stage of the Europa and hope they are able to defeat their next opponent.

Manchester United can regain greatness by bolstering its defense and attack, ensuring consistency, and making smart signings. Amorim needs a top center-back, a prolific striker, and better game management. Amomim's vision is key to a cohesive style.
But I think United has better players in the first phase of possessions, and the goal chance will come.
Hojlund is starting to score goals again and is young enough to become a better player.

Strasbourg football team played very well against Olympique Lyonnais football team and that was one handed match because Strasbourg team did 4 goals in this match and Olympique Lyonnais team did 2 goals in this match. Santos was a person who did goal at 55 minutes of the match and after this goal we saw goal from Bakwa player and he did goal at 60 minutes of the match and Tolisso tried to come back in this match but they could not do more than two goals in this match.The shots of Olympique Lyonnais football team were more in number and these were 16 and only 11 shots were on target and possession percentage of that team was 61 percent and passes of that team were 582 in this match.

This is indeed the only trophy left for United to win this season but to me it's still too early for us to be talking about united winning the league because the fact is it's going to be a very difficult task for United let see them advance to the semi finals first because to me the teams left in the Europa League this season has equal chances of winning the Europa league because because they are all average teams so you singling out only one team to win from this stage of the competition will not be fair, but for United the Europa League is even there only hope of making it to the champions League next season so they should take the remaining matches more serious

I don't know if anyone is doubting Manchester united performance or capabilities on winning their tie against Olympic Lyon it's just that if you watch and notice the redeem of how Manchester united have been throughout the entire season then you would know that you would definitely think twice when playing them especially seeing how their league performance have been although their Europa league is quite different though.

On a second thought, why doubt Manchester United when it comes to the Europa League? It's fine if we understand the rough inconsistent performance of the Red Devils in the English Premier League but when it comes to Europa trophy, I don't think the Red Devils would be ready to let go just like that. You and me understand the equation behind Manchester United urging and persuading to win the Europa League title.

Ruben Amorim will be given all the time he needs because he's new to the system. He has made quite few mistakes and tend to correct them when the time is right for the club. Amorim is ambitious coach, a type of coach that wouldn't become reluctant in one's position, he will make movement for hanging structures for the club he's serving as active manager.
