Bilbao didn't put up much of a challenge and that was very disappointing, based on their position and the fact that it's the Europa league Manchester united wasn't supposed to defeat them that easily...a lot of us assumed they might even win but they ended up not scoring even a single goal.. After the first goal scored by casemiro Bilbao got a red card and it turned everything around, they didn't have the energy to push forward in the game..all the same even without the card united would have still won the game because they are determined to, kudos to them.

I think the red card they got demoralized them entirely and they were not themselves again till the match ended. Do you know what it means to be left with only 10 men when a goal has already been scored by Manchester United's Casemiro, though i also fault Manchester United for not scoring a single goal in the second half and the worst part was even the aggressiveness of their players that led them to yellow cards in the second half. If not for Bilbao's red card and the fact that they already conceded 3 goals, they could have still come up with a way of tackling United but they just lost all their energy when they realized it was already late for them. Players should be disciplined enough not to get involved in a red card, it kills a team's morale hence Bilbao couldn't make anything out of the match again. Being relevant in the La Liga didn't make Bilbao stronger than Manchester United even though they could have played better and protect their home ground. Manchester United was quick to take the advantage that was presented to them which was a very good move because they are confident of reaching the finals after the second leg.

Manchester united really did well yesterday and I was kinda surprised because what they normally do this period is draw the first leg and then come back the second leg and defeat there opponent but yesterday own was a different case and out of all the match they have played in the Europa league I think yesterday was the easiest one for them, I mean they played and win without much stress. Athletic Bilbao was the team in the Europa most people were thinking is the strongest but then that steeze has been reduced and even without red card Manchester united would have still win them and it appears that two England team will be playing the finals and Tottenham Hotspur always beat Manchester whether inform or not but I hope they don't spoil Manchester unbeaten record in the Europa this season.

Football is very unpredictable most times, that is why the underdogs can be dangerous if your not too careful as a team. I would have outrightly put Manchester United out of place but i considered their game against Lyon which have put them in a different light. Bilbao literally had every of their player on ground and had no excuse not a put up a challenge as expected, probably the approach Manchester came with wasn't what they where expecting just the way Arsenal didn't expect what PSG where able to do in the first 20 minutes of play.

The Red card Bilbao had was a justified, because the Bilbao player obstructed a goal attempt, mind you Manchester United already had a one goal ahead, so it wasn't as if Manchester United started scoring after the Red card. Manchester United for me even did a poor job by not scoring more during the second half because they had all the trappings.

Man United is in the ascendant, but it still doesn't rule out the possibility that Bilbao could make a comeback, for that reason Man United must not be careless in the second leg (not make any mistakes, especially ones that could trigger a red card). It's not just the 3-0 lead that makes me feel Man United will make it to the final, but they also have a high motivation to win, as this is the only way they can play in European competition next season.

I don't think that should have been a red card. If the last man commits a foul inside the box, it should be a penalty and a yellow card, but if it were outside the box, then it should be a red card. It should only be a red card and a penalty when the challenge would have been a red card regardless of where it happened on the pitch, last man or not.
To make things more interesting, there was a handball by Garnarcho that happened in the build-up of the penalty. That should have cancelled the foul entirely, but it was not called.

That's football for you, though. You can prepare all you want and be ready as you can be, but one bad decision can ruin your whole plans.

I think everyone thinks like you. Because I think the same way. I couldn't understand how the referee gave a red card for that move, most likely no one could understand, there was no hit, nothing that could injure the player, but he showed a red card directly.
With this red card, the fate of a team was determined.

If not for that pull from Bilbao defender, that assist would have been converted. He obstructed a goal which, if i judge from my football knowledge, deserves a red, for a professional to make such a silly mistake is what makes the card valid. If we discuss what happened before the red card, the foul committed by Garnacho when he fell with the ball touching his hand without the referee calling it back is defendable, the referee knew what he did and neglected to call it in order.

Bilbao can't meet up during the second leg, United approached the first leg of semi semi-finals in a good well mannered, they deserve to play in the finals, we will see enough when they face Tottenham in the finals.

I think that maybe the Athletic club was stunned when Daniel Vivian got a red card because the team was under a lot of pressure because of this Spanish player. I would like to commend Manchester United in today's UEFA Europa League semi-final match, they were active in today's game and were almost successful in all their efforts. Moreover Ruben Amorim's team was able to show a great spell in the semi-final match, even it seems like they've taken a giant step towards reaching the Europa League final.

At the moment we see that coincidentally three players have managed to score seven goals each in the UEFA Europa League. They are Bruno Fernandes, Kasper Hogh and Ayoub El Kaabi, these players mentioned have made great contributions..

Either parlay or single the result is still the same my friend.  Bilbao mistake was losing one player in the first half and this encouraged Man Utd to continue scoring goals, I didn't expect Man Utd to be that aggressive in san memes. 3 points are too far to be pursued by Bilbao at Old Trafford later, maybe it's worth saying that the red devils will advance to the final. Man United and Tottenham really didn't disappoint us when they played in the Europa League. they seem to be a different team when they play in the European League. Their performance is better than when they played in the domestic league. I am also very happy because my bets were all successful. And actually Man United is already at a fairly safe point. Successfully winning by 3 goals in the first leg is the same as securing a place in the final. And actually Tottenham also did the same thing. And yes, it looks like the final will bring together Man United and Tottenham. And in this case we can clearly favorite Man United. Although in reality it might not be that easy.

One thing i have noticed is that both this clubs have actually understood that their season had been very poor and with their current league position the only way to salvage the season for themselves and their fans is to secure this trophy which also guarantees them a return to the champions league football next season and that’s why they are throwing everything they have at it at the moment. Tottenham game was predicted to be much easier for them than that of their league counterparts Manchester United. Bodoe/Glimts quality was not to be compare with that of Athletic Bilbao. So it was a predicted result.

As for Manchester United I wasn’t too confident that they will win but was sure that they will at least get a point and most importantly score. Before this season Manchester United were usually previously eliminated by Spanish teams and that’s why it is scary when they travel to play in Spain. This season in the Europa league they had appear to be a better team with 2 win and 4 draws without losing but still Athletic club at home was a bit scary considering there form. For me the way Manchester United started this game with free flowing attack was the difference in their game to how they play their league matches.

Seriously I didn’t see Bodo/Glimt  right from the start causing problem to Tottenham, not to disrespect Bodoe/Glimt but regardless of the how they got this far I think they are not a match for Tottenham in terms of squad quality, Tottenham like Manchester United might have their sight set on the only trophy that will salvage their entire season now

Bodo/Glimt made some blunders in their game, quite different compared to when they won against Lazio where Bodo/Glimt's tactics were very developed, they were more offensive and their accuracy was quite high. However, in this match against Tottenham, they had some difficulties when dribbling the ball towards the attack line, yes, Tottenham players have better accuracy, especially when blocking and then counter-attacking Bodo/Glimt, so they were not ready for that. And moreover, the early goal in the 1st minute by Johnson also made Bodo/Glimt's mentality start to fade.

In first half Tottenham had good aggressive approach which helps them for having early goal and then second goal make things more favourable for them which also bring pressure on Bodo/Glimt. Second half was balanced or in control of visitors, but sadly they fail to make things good for themselves and their attack was also not good as they needed but still they give strong challenge in second half which make things difficult for home team, and they were not able to control ball as well both teams score one goal each in second half.

Bodo/Glimt was not looking side which beats Lazio in last game because their strategy was also looking not good for this game which give them setback, and they fail to keep momentum in this game now they needed to be had good fight back in second leg if they want to have their chances for final which could be huge success for them.

Manchester United played a really great game. I thought they would have trouble with the game they played, but I was wrong. They played a great game and won the game well. Of course, the red card the Spanish received in the game was very important. Because the balance of the game was completely reversed. So Manchester United had a comfortable game and now they are almost guaranteed to go to the final.

When I watched how they won last night, I thought MU should have stepped into the final. They get big wins away, now they only need a draw, or under 2-goal loss to step it. I thought it was not hard when playing it on Old Trafford, because they have benefited from the Fans. I have the same thought, and I am pretty sure that Man United will win the Europa League trophy because they are ready for that one thing. Man United are indeed bad in the domestic league, but not in the Europa League, instead they play consistently. I think Man United seems to have found a way to the final, they are already leading 3-0, and they will have an advantage in the second leg because they will be playing at home. Man United might meet Tottenham, but that's not a big problem because Man United will also crush them.

Man United's performance this season is indeed difficult to predict, they play like two-faced. In the domestic league they are very weak but when in the European league their performance is very epic, all players look very motivated and excited. Just look at Bruno's game this season, just like seeing Bruno when he first came to Man United, he really deserves to wear the captain's armband on his arm. And salute to Maguire, he who has been bullied for years, and now he has found his best performance again in the European league.

So in the second leg I am sure and optimistic that they will win again, even though they are currently a little safe because they have a 3 goal advantage, but I am not sure Bilbao will win even though they only win by a narrow goal. Because of course Man United will still want to maintain their record as a team that has never lost in the Euro League, and this victory will certainly be a good capital when they are in the Final.

We're most likely to see the English final between Man United and Tottenham, with Man United being the favourite.
Who knows how the Athletic Vs Man United game would have gone if not for that early red card (and a penalty) that set the tone for the remaining 60 minutes. Before that happened, Athletic had a pretty good and aggressive start with a few good scoring chances missed.
Anything is possible in football, but I don't see Athletic coming back from such loss.

As expected, Bodo/Glimt got dominated, but luckily they responded with one goal of their own, so there's still a sliver of hope for them. Maybe Tottenham will get overly relaxed, and maybe the home advantage will work wonders for the Norwegian team in the rematch.
