I always recommend everyone read the book "The Richest Man in Babylon." Read it yourself, and suggest that your parents read it. They will understand, or learn, that physical labor is, of course, respected by everyone, but being the one who receives passive income from the physical labor of other people is always better. I will not explain why since any person should understand this himself. So, having investments and creating a business around yourself that brings income—this is not at all what your parents say about physical labor.
Yeah, I think majority of members here still believes that we should really work out ass off to earn money and be rich in the future. Although in crypto investments, there are a big chance that we can earn a lot by simple buying and then holding, just like a passive income.

But I do go with the old and traditional way of earning money thru jobs, a 9-5 in the beginning. At least we will learn a lot from people who we work with, from our peers to our bosses and who knows, maybe if we become entrepreneur ourselves, we will used that knowledge to our advantage. So we become businessman, traders, and investors and then we become successfully wealthy.

I'm not sure what physically demanding jobs mean, but your parents are right about demanding jobs.

If you don't push yourself, you don't grow. You usually only get pushed when working. Unless you have high discipline then also doing your hobby or sports.

Sort life out first, save money in BTC. You are 18. Grow as a person, as a member of society. Don't obsess over BTC unless you truly want to build something. Investment shouldn't be a fulltime job.

Maybe this story won’t make sense to everyone, but I want to see if they were right—that without
"Physically demanding jobs" work, there is no money. I believe otherwise, which is why I’m writing this. Let time show. Cool
Not all jobs are "physically demanding" though. It all comes down to your skills. Of course all jobs require a lot of effort but there is a difference between someone without skills working at a construction site and a skilled programmer sitting in an air conditioned office.

Even investment in bitcoin (or anything else) to make profit is demanding. You need to work at it, endure stress, spend a lot of time analyzing the market and take big risks that could come with big losses as well. It is not like you just buy bitcoin and become a millionaire after a short time.
I believe al jobs are physically demanding but all jobs requires a level of attention. While some maybe very stressful when working some are a more relaxing to do but it doesn't stop the fact that physical attention for the work is needed. Physically demanding and mentally demanding are two different things but they have one thing in common. Which is physical labor requires, physical presence, professions while mentally demanding needs problem-solving abilities, mental effort, and intellectual pursuit. However, what they have in common is that there must be someone who is in charge of performing those task and work. It can't operate without the attention of someone.

Maybe this story won’t make sense to everyone, but I want to see if they were right—that without
"Physically demanding jobs" work, there is no money. I believe otherwise, which is why I’m writing this. Let time show. Cool

it's not wrong to be passionate about something like Bitcoin right from a tender age, it's totally your decision to choose your area of interest and most of our parents that don't know what's the big deal with regards what's popular in today's century might not have it all figured out when it comes to the subject of Bitcoin but as a young person that's not yet balance financially you have to know how well prepared you're as you plan to start investing early enough. At 18 I didn't make it a big deal about taking my finances seriously up to the moment I almost finished my university studies. If I could take myself back in time and do change anything about my past decision, I would have loved to have taken my financial life seriously even while I was in school and so if you're 18 and you're not distracted by all the vices and interest that comes with such age range, I must applaud you for that.

However, you have to also set priorities right as you go about investing in Bitcoin. Set the right financial plan in place before you start investing. Your skills are important and a strong source of finance is a necessity, set these in order and when you're done doing these you can be comfortable to invest as much money into Bitcoin as you want to.
This makes sense to me. At some point we tend to look back at the past and think about the financial decisions we made and the one we did not make at all. Of course will regret it some while we are comfortable with others. These days being financially stable does not know any age and is not respected of what stage in life we are in. At 15 years old can old mansions, cars, and other luxurious lifestyles all by himself because the internet has paved the way. Things are no longer in black and white and in secret. Knowledge is open and accessible to everyone who hunger for it.

It is absolutely right if someone sees Bitcoin as a means out of bad predicaments then he ought to give it the focus and commitment it deserves and he succeeds through it. Age shouldn't be a barrier to the plans they have for themselves.

My parents never believed in this and didn't support me. I understand them because this isn't their era, and they thought all of it was a scam. They never wanted to support me in investing, but I understand and don't hold it against them.
in normal circumstances parents does not like accept anything that has to do with decentralized system, I know very well about when bitcoin was first introduced, many people were skeptical of bitcoin and till date some parents is still sceptical of bitcoin, that's while they don't want to free you to venture into bitcoin because they has already established doubt.

I’m 18 and have a fair amount of money from my salary, I’m directing it towards Bitcoin investment, and other investing projects.
Before you direct your salary to purchase bitcoin for investment ensure you have make a research of Bitcoin and know the procedures of Bitcoin properly...people who do invest in bitcoin do have the mentality that immediately they invest in bitcoin they are rich, so I know that what makes them to have such mindset or taught is because of lack of research, so when you make proper investigation on bitcoin before you invest, you will know your direction.

BTCHello, my name is foren00BTC. I learned about Bitcoin when I was 16 years old by Googling on the internet. It piqued my interest, so I delved deeper into the world of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin.

In physical jobs you can earn a fixed amount and no matter what condition your company is facing you will get paid your monthly salary and from this you will meet your monthly expenses and in case of bitcoin you can earn good profit in few hours or days and may be you earn profit in months or years, you have to wait for price to increase. And there’ are so many people who become millionaires or billionaires from bitcoin’s investments. It totally depends on you which method of earning you opt for monthly earnings.

[...] But to be honest, is Bitcoin completely free of fraud? We're really just seeing more advocates promoting its positive use

Bitcoin itself is free from any fraud, but there are many bad people out there who make bitcoins as victims to create victims. For people who have sufficient insight, of course bitcoin is not something bad, but for people who don't even understand what bitcoin is & how it works, they will view bitcoin as a scheme the same as Ponzi.

I'm proud of the OP, he remained firm in his stance even though he didn't get support & had to wait 2 years just to invest in bitcoin.
Fraud and money laundering are two distinct yet interconnected financial crimes, and Bitcoin continues to be used for money laundering. However, its use in such activities has decreased significantly in recent months.

For now, do not quit whatever you do to earn that salary you saved to invest in bitcoin.  You still need it to sustain you while your investment appreciates. I believe from your findings about bitcoin, you must have prepared your mind for Bitcoin's price volatility which is capable of making you rich or even poorer than you could imagine.

Everyone has their own approach in investing in Bitcoin but I will always recommend to anyone close to me who wishes to invest in bitcoins to have an alternative source of income they can also rely on when bitcoin isn't at its best.

I wish you luck on your bitcoin investment journey, invest wisely and you'll be fine.

Fraud may not be money laundering, but money laundering is definitely a fraud. The report you provided refers to a decrease in money laundering activity in cryptocurrencies in general & not specifically to bitcoin, but the decrease still makes sense because mixer has been completely banned, they have also lost their native marketing space, which i mean is this forum.

If you are interested in Bitcoin investment and you already know about it then you should invest here for long term. Because investing in Bitcoin is highly reliable and the future profit potential is highest. So if you have decided to invest here then it will be the best decision for you and it will make you gain or earn profit in future. So if you can afford to invest in your venture then you can invest in Bitcoin. But if you are financially dependent on family then you should not invest maximum amount here because if your family creates pressure on you then you may suffer as opposed to earning profit from here in short time.

Thus, it is. If you want to get rich, the best way to get rich is to work. The best way to get rich is to work, save and invest, because if you get rich by hitting the jackpot, like someone who wins the lottery, you are more likely to end up worse off.

In any case, let the OP keep a sensible attitude, and in a few years' time he could do very well.

The best way to get money is working. The best way to get rich is using your salary from working, to invest into a right thing that can save you against inflation of fiat currency.

Bitcoin is the choice, not only, but one of your choices and since 2009, it's the best investment choice. Proof of ROIs show this fact.

Interesting story, at your young age you are interested in things like crypto and honestly this is a very positive thing for you and your future assets, most of the parents do not study Bitcoin and because of this their perspective on crypto does have a bad image.

At this very young age you have already invested in Bitcoin and several other projects that you will hold as an investment asset, this is a fantastic appreciation we say. and this is a good desire for you and continue to grow in becoming a good investor.

However, its use in such activities has decreased significantly in recent months.

https://www.trendmicro.com/en_us/research/24/g/crypto-crime-2024-report-part-ii.html#:~:text=In%202023%2C%20money%20laundering%20in,in%20overall%20crypto%20transaction%20volume.

Bitcoin is used for money laundering but who is using bitcoin for those illegal activities? Criminals, terrorists...human? Before Satoshi created bitcoin, criminals also used fiat money, gold, silver...so who should we blame?

Bitcoin is not a scam in any way as it is just a tool like many others, it is being used by criminals for their illegal purposes. Bitcoin completely free of fraud in any way as it is just a tool like many others, it is used by criminals for illegal purposes just like they use fiat or gold. The fault here lies entirely with the criminals and partly with the government for not being able to find a solution to thoroughly suppress the criminals.

As you said, criminal use of bitcoin has decreased in recent months, which means they are starting to use other methods like fiat, why is no one talking about this?

Is this the fault of fiat, is fiat completely free of fraud?

Maybe this story won’t make sense to everyone, but I want to see if they were right—that without
"Physically demanding jobs" work, there is no money. I believe otherwise, which is why I’m writing this. Let time show. Cool
Actually, virtual jobs are already a reality since internet was born, and it has just got more intensified since the last decade, and more yet during and after Covid pandemic. Furthermore, it's not directly related to Bitcoin phenomeon, as even before the cryptocurrency was launched, there were virtual payment methods such as Paypal, which people used as middleman to transact virtually, although the fees are pretty expensive.

Bitcoin was a big improvement on this matter, as we don't need (theoretically) middlemen services to transact online anymore. You don't have to pay abusive fees to the government or the middleman itself anymore to move your funds from one place to another.

Regards the disbelief of your family, it's not a matter or believing or not, rather it's a matter of accepting reality, as the evidences are everywhere. I hope you have a good time as a Bitcoin investor and enthusiast!

Welcome, op. Manual labor is often paid worse that intellectual labor, so of course a job doesn't have to be physically demanding to bring a good salary home. Being 18 and having a job that pays alright, allowing you to invest some money in Bitcoin on a regular basis (DCA) is already very impressive.
I do believe in BTC growth in the long run, so I wish you patience and success with your investment. Just make sure you're storing your coins safely in a noncustodial wallet and that you won't lose your passphrase over the years.

I don't see any problem with gaining skills at a regular job. And use cryptocurrency as a hobby. Considering your age, you will gain a bunch of new skills and knowledge that will be useful to you in the future. Also, you can earn extra money in cryptocurrency: airdrops, NFTs, maybe even trading. As soon as your income from your hobby is several times higher than your income from your regular job, you can plunge headlong into cryptocurrencies.

Hmm, NFTs, and Airdrops for the part-time are great but for me according to my learnings and experiences trading should not go along with your job as a part-time earning opportunity its super stressful and can impact your consistent job and life, if you are passionate and confident to learn and adopt new things learn as a part-timer and then switch to full-time trade there many things to explore and I'm sure if you are good enough you can manage your life as a full-time trader

BTCHello, my name is foren00BTC. I learned about Bitcoin when I was 16 years old by Googling on the internet. It piqued my interest, so I delved deeper into the world of cryptocurrency and Bitcoin.

My parents never believed in this and didn't support me. I understand them because this isn't their era, and they thought all of it was a scam. They never wanted to support me in investing, but I understand and don't hold it against them. Now that I’m 18 and have a fair amount of money from my salary, I’m directing it towards Bitcoin investment, and other investing projects.

Maybe this story won’t make sense to everyone, but I want to see if they were right—that without
"Physically demanding jobs" work, there is no money. I believe otherwise, which is why I’m writing this. Let time show. Cool

Bye foren00 2024BTC
First of all congratulations for taking interest in bitcoin (and the financial world) when you were 16, I don't know about the other users but at that time I would have never thought about learning stuff like this, you have a great mindset! I can understand your parents' point of view, for people of a certain age bitcoin is not easy to understand because it may look like something made out of think air, I can't blame them.
