(Once a month)
You go into your Qt and make a new address and send all your coins to yourself
Depending on how many "transactions" you have, you might have to send it to yourself in 2,3,4,5 etc chunks but if your doing this regularly you can do it all at once.
You can send it to the same address to consolidate - no biggy - multiple addresses not required
I do it for all my POS coins, once a month or so

(Once a year)
Also - once a year, you should shut-down/exit the Qt
Go into %appdata% and rename your wallet.dat file to walletOLD.dat
Restart the Qt and it will make a new wallet.dat file
Make a new address and copy it so you can send all your POS coins to this new address in the new wallet.dat [file]
Shut-down/exit the Qt
Go into %appdata% and rename this new wallet.dat file to walletNEW.dat
Rename the walletOLD.dat file to wallet.dat
Restart the Qt
Now send ALL your POS coins to this new address that you just created.
Once this wallet is empty, Shut-down/exit the Qt
Go into %appdata% and rename this wallet.dat file to walletOLD.dat
Rename the walletNEW.dat file to wallet.dat
Restart the Qt and you'll see all your coins now in the wallet :-)
DONE

You should never delete the old wallet.dat files, just-in-case you have a few addresses still in the wild that somebody might try to use/send coins to you.
You should open these old wallets once a year and check them for any coins

The reason you have to do all of this is because any Qt does not like to get really full. It can lag and in really really full Qt's with a LOT of addresses, it can crash, making the wallet.dat file unstable and even possibly unusable. Better safe than sorry.

If some thing here is unclear - feel free to ask :-)

Thank you! this is quite some info! i will keep it in mind Smiley

Can somebody post the update here.

My virus scanner won't allow that page to be displayed within the wallet.
Unless somebody knows a fix for this issue

edit: nevermind I found the Github

https[Suspicious link removed]

So you don't see the browser inside the wallet? Your virus scanner wants to kill one of the best KSC features!

Can you post its name?

avast

edit: Anybody want to recommend a better virus scanner?

Sure. Use virustotal please. It also includes the latest virus definitions of your avast

https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/37a75d093d0291d64a97122f506d7cf5e09b1695a5b4f7e890f4633c33af4d07/analysis/1416813901/

I use it before I need to start EVERY new wallet for EVERY altcoin

I think he/she was asking for a recommendation for a resident virus scanner.  VirusTotal is VERY good for checking individual files, ALWAYS use this to scan wallets and other crap you download before unzipping or running.

If I am correct and you were asking for a replacement scanner to replace Avast on your PC, I personally would recommend Microsoft Security Essentials if running a Windows machine, is of course free to use.  I did not like Avast myself as it caused weird issues like this and always seemed to be in my face annoying me.  I used to use AVG which a while back was a REALLY good free to use virus scanner, but I have found MSE plays nicer with Windows and have never had any problems with it.

If you are running a Mac, perhaps someone else may make a suggestion as I can't help there.

Hope this helps!

EDIT - Just in case this may be helpful to you as well.......also HIGHLY recommended you install the free version of MalwareBytes and run that about once a month!

@devs

It is very nice to see that the KSC it is working now even in the POS phase. Congratulations for your effort !
Do you have a strategy about increasing the value of KSC ?
Like you know, a better exchange for the coin, with more traffic volume etc.
How do you plan to increase the demand fo KSC ? Where can this coin be used ? Gocoin.com ?

Great to KSC pulled back from the brink. Nice job, devs.

I collect and trade rare and lost cryptocurrencies and blockchains.
Prefer fair launch/no premine, pre-2014 coins.

It seems the wallet "may" still need a bit of tweaking.  Noticed it had not staked anything in about 24 hours so restarted it, it was reading fully synced but I knew it was not as the blocks had not changed in a day.  Upon restarting the staked coins from the 24th disappeared, that was immediately made up for of course as soon as the wallet resynced and I unlocked.

Have noticed too it frequently freezes for short periods of time, like it's thinking about something....lasts usually for just a couple seconds.

Thought I would let you guys know.

hahaha, funny post man!

Checked the peer info for you bud, but having to shut down the wallet in order to run the console made it a bit more difficult as I had 4 connections before shutting it down but only got 2 when I ran the console.

I will give you both though, the peer info and the addnodes I have in my config...........

{

Fuck.......I just noticed the "startingheight" : 117065, line in what i posted to you.

This means fricken forked again and am not REALLY synced to the right chain hah?!

Forgot to mention, although those nodes were previously in my config file, I had disabled it by renaming so wasn't really using one at all.

so much for the boot :-P

Yeah man this is getting a bit ridiculous!  Seems like the same song keeps playing over and over, get a wallet update......all looks good and working fine, only to find out a few days later that it appears to be working, but has forked.  This has happened to me now at least a half a dozen times.

Devs again not monitoring this thread on the daily.........sigh.
