If you don't have any issues with UFC/MMA, boxing, then you shouldn't have any issues with power slaps. I think it's hypocritical for an MMA fan to talk down on power slap.
If it were left to me, boxing shouldn't be a sport. Any form of violence shouldn't be a sport or entertainment.

You tried to justify boxing and UFC by saying fighters can defend themselves, but they still end up getting hit a lot which is not cool. I don't find those sports entertaining. The only difference between those sports, especially the UFC fights and ancient gladiators is that, there are no weapons and it's not right to the death.

I'm not a fan of power slaps either, I don't think it should be legal, but I also think a fan of MMA shouldn't condemn power slap because compared to UFC, it's child's play. I will not actually bet on this kind of sporting events, not just about the unethical nature of these events but because of their unpredictable nature that makes it difficult to have confidence in choosing the side to win. Remember that there is no past record to reference as the sports is relatively new. So it become very difficult making selections. Power slap is really just that a stupid thing or idea. How they do consider out on letting this thing happen? It is really that

I’d say this should be banned, but they fall under the regulation of athletic commissions - the same ones that oversee MMA and boxing. If these commissions recognize how dangerous it is, they could step in and ban it. However, this sport generates a lot of money, which they benefit from, so that makes things tricky.

They might even argue, "Why ban this sport when no one has died from it yet? If that’s the standard, then boxing should be banned since it has had reported deaths." You see, there’s a valid point there, but despite the risks, they still allow boxing. In the end, it all comes down to money.

On one hand, we can assume that most fighters are there because of their free will, so like in other dangerous sports (not only talking about fights, but also other extreme sports) one might wonder why ban it if that's what they consent to.

On the other hand, I personally find the perspective of earning money thanks to something so dangerous for another human being disgusting.

In the end, with our actions we send signals about what is correct and what is not, so everyone should be aware of it and act accordingly, because today it is power slap, but tomorrow, if enough money is at stake, it can be something more extreme.

When making out some bets then you would really be doing this on your own free will on which it is really that understandable on this case. It is really just that there would really be those individuals who do really that find out that this kind of thing is really that interesting on which they will really be having that such approach on wanting or liking to make out such betting but just like the rest been saying that this is really that something which cant be considered as a sport. I had a topic [1] about this last year before it has more success now I get that The Power Slap League has become popular, but personally I won't place any bets on it because it feels really unethical to me. The way fighters just stand there and take slaps seems super dangerous. Plus, the payout is still very low while the heads and other parties are making millions of gains. It seems like they’re taking advantage of the fighters. They should really think about safety and maybe create better rules, like weight classes as I have mentioned before. Until then, I don't think it's right to gamble on something that could hurt people so much, and I feel like betting on it will keep this thing alive and support something negative.
I prefer to keep it with football and safe sports, rather than these crazy new events.

There are some sports that are very unethical and weird one of them is the sex sport, after reading about it I was very surprised that people would actually come out to watch people do that...I don't know if any betting site has sponsored that game or added it to their sports games to bet on. It hasn't been practiced on your country? It's a complete opposite for ours because I've seen videos online of people who are organizing this slapping tournament as well and many joined on it TBH. I don't find it disgusting though because like what others said, it's completely legal, but for me, it's unethical to watch and I don't see any entertainment between 2 people hurting each other. Yes in sports, hurting other people "ACCIDENTALLY" is common, but doing it on purpose? Nah just forget about it.

As for gambling, I don't see it gambling in our country either, but when it becomes more and more popular, I expect more online gambling websites putting it as well. There's also a chance that some gamblers are gambling into it physically and not through online. As for social media creating content about them, most of them are just reaction videos and they seemed entertained by watching these 2 people hurting each other. Well, it's for the content and more content = more money for them. Whatever the case is, I still don't want to watch this sport, and TBH, I don't call it a sport as well.

They're for entertainment so, anything that's currently on the trend then they will use it for clout chasing.

I don't also see people gamble with power slapping unless the bookies make it a regular into them. But as far as checking them, I don't see it even in the odd sections of these gambling websites.

If they'll have it listed and it's also for fun, there could be another source for them to commission with. Then, those that don't like to bet with such better avoid them at all cost if seen it listed somewhere else.

I am not sure if others would agree with me but for me, this "sport" is far more dangerous than MMA, I get that MMA is dangerous and brutal but getting direct powerful hits in the head without protection or being able to protect is a no-no.

That confirms that it's freely being used as means of gambling and entertainment there and in other countries. Some persons will definitely gamble on anything they see, not minding the risk and they are not even to be blam but the government that approved of it and on the second thought, if mature adults can actually come to self conclusion into participating in such kind of contest, they are on their own. Perhaps they are mature enough to know what is good for them.

There are ladies too on the same stage and it's as brutal as when they go down like their counterpart. So this is really a very dangerous fight to be honest and I do agree that one blow might make someone disabled them.

I don't think that was impressive or funny if they still laugh after they get slapped hard because/but deep inside I know they are only enduring the pain and they can already suffer in a severe internal damage which is insanely dangerous. If it was only about the height difference, I wouldn't mind that but as long as both have a good strength in their arms or in slapping because that still give us a good fight/game.

Boxing requires a whole movement of the body, so this would be the reason on why each boxers should be weighed down first and ensures that both can move at the same speed. Not just moving actually but their weight can also tell their power. It is just that when one is off guard, they can get hit in their sensitive areas and that makes them lose their power or they will get weaker. Never saw ladies that are being matched to their male counterparts. At first, it may seem unfair but then I realized that females are actually known for slapping as their main offensive move, so this is actually quite interesting to watch .

The famous Dana essentially took the idea of slap fights that were kid of a popular small-scale game in eastern Europe and Russia and ran with it years later after its first round of popularity. Recently Dana claimed the "Power Slap" brand is now worth USD 750 Million... That's in spite of having lost their TV deal with no channel willing to pick the show up. So now "Power Slap" runs on Rumble, the video sharing site that started as a censorship free YouTube alternative.

As of the unethicality of this competition... We all know that fighting sports bear a certain degree of danger. Quite a few athletes have sustained permanent damage after a fight, with some even remaining disabled for a lifetime. But at least with boxing, martial arts and mixed martial arts fights, athletes are allowed to defend themselves and avoid the opponent's blows as much as they can. In Power Slap though, the fighters are not allowed to defend themselves at all. And moreover, it has been acknowledged by the competition's organizers that the blows don't have to be normal slaps... Blows hitting with the base of the hand, that would basically hit nearly as hard as a punch to the face are considered a valid technique. This drastically increases the potential for athletes to injure themselves very seriously...

Now, without a TV deal, Power Slap has turned to betting partners to bring in more profit after losing their TV deals.
So I'm hoping this post sparks some discussion about the theatricality of what we should be betting on.
Just like we avoid betting on animal sports because this perpetuates the needless breeding and therefore abuse of animals...

Not having categories or weight classes will make the sports unjust. It could also lead to health issues or even death. I checked the website, and I saw that they have well-established rules, but that doesn't still make the sports safe since participants don't have the option of defending themselves.

If they keep having fans or supporters of this sport it might keep existing. People are willing to do anything for money, so they will keep having participants. And if the organizers are lucky enough to land lucrative and long-term sponsorship deals, power slap might become a major sport. Maybe the rules might change in the future to make it safer.

Not all gambling events is supposed to have a past record time to look back at before gambling, games in casinos don't have a past record yet people win when they gamble because gambling is a game of luck and not always about statistic and past record. People that gamble on fight sports calling slap competition unethical is surprising because they're almost like the same thing. In fight sports, the opponents gets betting and people are paying to watch this and also gamble money hence why aren't we allowed to do the same for power slap without feeling the backlash of being  called unethical. Any sport is risky. Nobody suggest to ban boxing for example, because getting hit into head causes serious problems. Basketball seems to be considered as sports with most injuries, but nobody ever though of banning it. That is why I dont think that power slaps will be banned because of health risk. There must be other reason. Also, since athletes dont earn much, I dont think that production cost a lot. However such sport is like something seasonable. I dont know the proper word for this, but its has high demand from viewers now, but the demand will end quick. So Dana seems to be squeezing maximum of it until hype ends.

This is very painful and wouldn't encourage anyone to go into that is it's more deadly, i can't just imagine myself having to look while someone hits me strongly on my face or slap for any reason without dodging from it. It makes someone looks like a fool were he can't reacts or take any action inform violence other than being composed and comports oneself to suits the play and games, though it may looks funny to the viewers and fans but it's actually very risky to people who are participating on it.
