When a thing turns habitual surely it'll kill time. One such thing had taken place with employee. It is not about gambling, as said whatever he had done apart from his assigned task during the work hours is going to stop his productivity as well as the progress of the firm. This is well understood by the Boss and he had fired the employee.
Yes, all bad habits that are done during working hours will indeed result in decrease in worker productivity, especially if it is gambling activity, they will not focus on what to do because an employee must really maintain professional attitude and of course it is their own risk when the leadership takes some harsh consequences to their worker that makes mistakes. But in context like this, no one will really know the truth except from the leader himself and his workers, anyone can lie.

He would have still been fired if crypto wasn't involved I think the reason why he was sacked is that as a banker you are dealing with public fund been addicted in gambling is like puting the reputation of the bank at risk because he has made gambling a habit, they the court should have still pardon him since he wasn't gambling during work hours which would have distracted him not to focus on the work he is doing rather than gambling but as a habitual gambler the chance of using people funds to gamble is could come through if proper care was not taken. So that morel lesson here is that we shouldn't get addicted into gambling at the level of making it too known to people that you can't do without gambling and as banker it is very risky because you might be tempted to gamble with other people fund.
Can you tell the difference between an office clerk and a banker, really? Why on earth did this employee suddenly become a banker? You have everything mixed up. No, this is something completely different. It is highly likely that he has been the target of a grudge for a long time and gambling became the reason for terminating his employment contract. It is much simpler than you think. This happens almost every day. I have witnessed such circumstances myself. Yes, it is unpleasant, but nothing can be done about it.

If crypto wasn't involved, do you think this employee would have gotten fired?
Still fired because the main problem here is that he gambled and it doesn't matter whether he played crypto games or not, gambling is still gambling, even though it doesn't affect work, when working we still have to remain professional and not involve personal pleasure. The court clearly favors the bank depending on the evidence provided which may be more burdensome for the worker and this can also be a lesson for other workers not to do personal things in their work.

A bank employee's involvement in gambling does not bring anything good. Especially the control power of people addicted to gambling is questionable. Due to addiction to gambling, there is a high possibility of an employee getting involved in unethical activities. Especially in the hands of a gambling bank officer, the bank's money can never be safe. Being involved in cryptocurrency is not a cause for concern for the bank. If any employee of their bank gets involved in gambling, then it is essential for the bank authorities to take action against that employee, because the possibility of loss to the bank by this employee is very high. In this case, I think firing the employee is a good example or step.

I think that it is equally important that the employer does not know that his employee has cryptocurrency and plays in a casino using cryptocurrency. This at least reduces the grounds for dismissal in the event that there is competition for a job with other applicants. And for this, of course, information about cryptocurrency and casino games should also be hidden from all employees at work simply because even if one of them finds out about it, the employer will still find out. Someone will definitely blab or deliberately tell the employer about such a passion of the employee.
Yes you are right, it is better to hide our activities related to cryptocurrencies with our daily activities at work or other public places. because not everyone understands properly about cryptocurrencies themselves, especially if in our workplace with many people who have different thoughts and views, it is easy for them to assume that the cryptocurrencies we run will interfere with our performance and they are very enthusiastic in reporting to their superiors with unreasonable reasons. And it is also worth remembering that many millions of people have the idea firmly ingrained in their heads that cryptocurrencies are used, as a rule, for criminal activity. And it is used only to hide money transfers. Despite the absurdity of such an attitude towards cryptocurrency in general, and despite the fact that fiat money, cash, for example, is much more often used by criminals, public opinion still gives cryptocurrencies such a "black mark". By the way, this is also a very good argument for hiding information about your casino games with cryptocurrency payments from other employees at work and, accordingly, from your employer, of course.

You are already thinking your own story. It was never said that fired employee lacks self control and had gambling addiction. It was a regular guy, but you have created him as a uncontrollable addicted theft. Even if he steals money from the bank, that will be noticed by the end of the day. If you think that it is easy to steal from the bank when you work there, anyone would use that long time ago and all the banks would go bankrupt. The maximum real harm what such employee could do is to lose all his salary in gambling and borrow money from his colleagues all the time.

Yes, if that is related to work, we must be professional and not involve personal pleasure because our office can easily know what we do. Not to mention that many CCTV installed in every room in the office, which can be good evidence for the HRD to fire us. We can do our pleasure when we are at home because what we will do is not related to work so the office can not know what we are doing. We must avoid making a problem to our office because that can gives us more problems and office can fire us easily without listening to our reasons.

Of course, playing at work is too risky and I would not allow myself to do this, probably even at lunchtime if I were at work. But if I went to the canteen or a cafe that is in the next building, I could play. In any case, I do not like to play in such places. I prefer to play at home in a calm and relaxed atmosphere, so that nothing bothers me, this allows me to concentrate on the game and be completely immersed in it. Although I know for sure that many cannot resist the game and place bets at work, which interferes with their work process.

It's better to have the said banker sacked on time before the bank management begins to see the unethical activities of the banker using the people's money to gamble for more money to make in crypto gambling sites. Banks can not risk that. It's better not to have it happen than to be aware that one of the bankers has always gambled in his free time. Anyone who understands how gambling works would kick against it in time for any gambler to work in a bank because there will be the temptation of the banker trying to use people's money to gamble, which they fall guilty of at any time.

If crypto wasn't involved, do you think this employee would have gotten fired?
I think anything they were doing habitually that was taking away from their time at work would have gotten them fired. Whether that is gambling, porn, video games, stocks, crypto trading, memes, nfts, etc. I doubt his boss cared much what he was doing, only that he wasn't doing his work. That makes you wonder if he were a high performing employee, what sort of nonsense would his employer put up with as far as gambling before letting him go. When a thing turns habitual surely it'll kill time. One such thing had taken place with employee. It is not about gambling, as said whatever he had done apart from his assigned task during the work hours is going to stop his productivity as well as the progress of the firm. This is well understood by the Boss and he had fired the employee. True, regardless of the activity and even if the habit is a good habit or not risky, it is still a mistake if done at the wrong time, here we are talking about the world of work where of course there are regulations and demands from the company to an employee, remember that they pay you to work and not to break the rules so it is very natural if there are punishments or consequences when you break their rules such as in terms of time that you should use to work but you instead use that time to mix it with other activities that are your habits.

If I understood correctly, the employee was fired not because he gambled during working hours, but simply because he was addicted to gambling outside of working hours. Moreover, he tried to resolve this issue in court, because he believed that his addiction did not affect his ability to work. By the way, I would like to know the details of how they found out at work that he gambled, if he did not do it during working hours?

In South Korea, A bank employee was found to be playing online games that use crypto as its in game currency. The bank claimed that the employee is a habitual gambler and fired him from his job. The ex-employee naturally raised his concern to HR as he thinks it is unfair dismissal but the HR rejected his appeal which led him to file a lawsuit. In the end, even the court sided with the bank. Even though the ex-employee claims that he never played during work hours and that his habits did not interfere with his work quality, the court rules it to be undignified to be gambling with crypto. If crypto wasn't involved, do you think this employee would have gotten fired? Bank are one of the busiest workplace and they have targets to achieve. They are ruthless in not letting the workers have spare time. Another reason could be the gambling aspect. The bank is a sector where you could easily fraud and get some huge amount of quick cash. You'll get caught quick to but for a gambling addict, they don't see the bad aspect. I've seen people gamble the organization money in order to win big, a huge money means a larger bankroll and if they won and don't get caught, they could easily make it look like nothing happen but if they lose, that's the downfall. The bank might be being safe from such fraud as a person who gambles on office time could likely be a gambling addict.

If crypto wasn't involved, do you think this employee would have gotten fired?
even i predict that even if crypto was not involved in it, he would still be fired because of his gambling habits that could affect his performance and make others suffer the consequences of his gambling. you can see some stories of how bank employees embezzle customer money because they are in debt or other financial problems, and his gambling could potentially make him entangled in debt and if he is short-sighted he could steal money from his workplace. even though the banking decision is quite harsh, but for the common good it must be taken.

In this case. We can't do conclude that crypto was the full cause of him being fired... Though we know how banks are not buying the idea of cryptocurrency as it's more like a rival to them.. but then the employee was already becoming an addict.. he claims that he didn't gamble or let his gambling interfere with his work, how then were they able to find out that he plays on a casino? These things most times can be personal if we do keep them hidden.. he could have dropped his gambling habits at home and after work he can continue instead of creating more problems for himself...
I honestly don't understand how this thing worked. Is it that the man is been monitored by his firm or organization, and to think that he actually didn't get fired was because he played on crypto.OR there could be several reasons best known to the firm.Anyways, anybody that goes against the working standards and etiquettes should be sanctioned as well.

Yes, besides that, wherever we work or socialize, we must also always be aware of the people around us because not everyone around us will do good, it could be a threat to us in the future. Regarding cryptocurrency, of course, everyone has different arguments, if someone thinks that cryptocurrency is part of a criminal act, in my opinion that person has not really understood the benefits or advantages of cryptocurrency today. It is clear that cryptocurrency is currently in great demand and sought after by cryptopers as a digital currency that is increasingly advanced and developing and people who are good at choosing cryptocurrency will have a lot of money because they use cryptocurrency correctly and appropriately.

It doesn't take much effort to find out one of the reasons that led to his dismissal: However, the bank also claimed that the employee was a “habitual gambler” who played online gambling games that use crypto as an in-game currency.
Crypto gambling games are illegal in South Korea. However, many South Korean players use overseas servers and foreign platforms. Is he a member of this forum? I don't agree with the dismissal, but unfortunately the bank will want employees who are more worthy of their role. The bank may have assessed the player's conduct as a threat to the institution.

This is well understood by the Boss and he had fired the employee.
I said before that this mistake was not caused by gambling but by an employer's playing at the wrong time. The company should have a department that supervises workers and nurtures them if there are problems like this happen again, don't get fired right away before the issue is clear so that the situation can not make a one-sided disadvantage. A problem like this will occur happen on the next time if the company doesn't have a specific rule on how to work in that office because gambling sites around the world have been played very often by workers during working hours. We don't know if this organisation already have it rule but the gambler didn't stick to it. Even without rules when it comes to our various works, especially when we work under people we need to give every attention to focus on work because I don't think any employer will tolerate any of their workers doing somethings else that is inform of distraction. An organisation that is handling money like the bank , i don't think they will be satisfied if they found out any of their workers will be gambling during the time of work. Gambling may even be a threat to the manager, especially if the manager is not a gambler, he will definitely have a different meaning to gamble because the way non gamblers sees gambling is different from the way we gambler sees it.

-snip- I don't agree with the dismissal, but unfortunately the bank will want employees who are more worthy of their role. The bank may have assessed the player's conduct as a threat to the institution.
Yes, threats can happen because their employees will eventually need money to keep playing when they lose. There have been many cases of embezzlement of a bank's customer money and when they were caught they admitted to using customer money to gamble, start investing and trading in futures trading. That's why banks prohibit their employees from playing on gambling sites or openly making risky trades. This is actually about the SOPs that need to be obeyed as bank employees and as for what is prohibited, of course it should not be done.

If the activity that you are really that dealing into or doing such thing is already that becoming obvious that even your co-workers do able to see it and observed then its not shocking that those information in regarding on what you are doing will really be that something that will really be talked into. On the moment that these information reached up into those who are sitting on the top or simply the management then it will really be giving out that kind of reaction specially that you are working on a bank and you've been known to do gambling. Somehow it will really be just that too judgmental if they will really be firing up someone immediately because they do gamble. There are really some decisions on which it do really turned out to be too much on this case on which they wont really be thinking about into that particular persons financial situation or condition and also come in mind that there's no one do the rights on doing on what they should be be doing with their money.

That is why we don't have to risks our job by playing gambling at office. We have a time to playing gambling when we are at home so we don't disturb anything and we can enjoy our time to playing gambling. At least, we can place our position in the office and leave the pleasure behinds us because we are busy with our work. We don't want to see the sadness because of losing the money because that can affect us easily and makes our mood change with fast. We know that playing gambling can tempts us easily and makes us to keep playing gambling more and more so we must be careful and not let us getting deeper in gambling.
