Being reluctant about emergency funds as a Bitcoin investor has it's consequences, which is why no investor should ignore it, emergency funds is not something to joke with as you're a long-term investor, cause it is the protective measure that should be embark upon by every Bitcoin investor.
For me, any Bitcoin investor, I mean someone that is investing for a long-term, that have not started creating emergency funds, is just joking because, an investment like Bitcoin without such separate funds that we can rely on to Carter for your emergency needs, will definitely lead you into withdrawing from your hodlings, which might mark the end of your Bitcoin accumulation.
A reserve fund is important not only because it gives you available funds to live on if an investment turns out to be a long term one. Reserve capital is also needed so that you can buy more of an asset if you choose a less than optimal entry point. Therefore, besides an emergency fund, you should also have additional reserve capital that you can use flexibly for investing.
A "reserve fund" in the context that you are using emphasizes buying the dip rather than DCA, and this thread is about DCA which is also superior to buying the dip. You seem to be wanting to suggest that buying the dip is better than DCA, which it is not.
Do you want to argue about your claim? or to make your claim more directly rather than proclaiming that buying the dip as if there is actual value in maintaining a reserve fund that would be used for buying dips that may or may not end up happening rather than just using some or all of that money (that you would otherwise put into your reserve fund) to buy bitcoin regularly, persistently, consistently, ongoingly and perhaps even aggressively (in a DCA kind of style that is largely agnostic to dips and/or prices)?
Why much emphasis on reserve funds @Cryptmuster, when you could just keep buying always using the DCA and continue boosting your portfolio. You sound as though the major thing to do with our discretionary income is to build more reserve funds rather than continually buying some chunk of BTC consistently and building your portfolio. You could also read the points of Sir JJG for more insight on this.
If we are able to figure out our discretionary, we must be consistent to buying Bitcoin and also building our back up funds, as well as trying also to place some amount for your discretionary consumption. Perhaps, every investor must be careful to ensure they doesn't mix there priorities wrongly in putting more attention to what doesn't matter much. Investors must ensure to strike a balance between there income allocation into different segments of there investment and there personal lives to ensure steadily and progressive investment journey.
Much emphasis on reserve funds points more to relying and/or preparing and waiting for the Dip so to buy from it, when we don't even know when it may happy. DCAing consistently is more important and reliably good for building our portfolio in a long run.
