DCA method makes you consistent in accumulating Bitcoin from time to time the market, it helps newbies to understand the advantage of investment and how they can manage whatever little funds they can afford to invest with, not all their funds. It also make them see bitcoin investment as not a get rich quick scheme but a long-term profitable reward investment that need to be done by all.
DCA strategy doesn't make you consistent, consistency comes from personal decision and dedication to your ongoing investment journey. Some investors can be doing DCA and decide to skip a some buying periods out of indiscipline and lack of dedication. So for you to remain consistent, you must make that decision to show more seriousness and not to miss out buying as long as you've your discretionary income available. DCA only provides the opportunity to buy in bits and spread your Bitcoin buys over a longer period of time to accumulate a sizeable portfolio for yourself on the long-run. It also helps to eliminate the financial burden of having to buy a large quantity of Bitcoin at once. Your level of consistency is a reflection of your dedication to your ongoing accumulation journey. There is nothing wrong if an investor is using the dca strategy to buy bitcoin and maybe skip off some weeks or months with out buying bitcoin, it could be that they don't have any discretionary income to buy with at the time and they can't sell rather still hold and buy when they have any discretionary income available, it's not every weeks or months that you will have discretionary income, so investors may have but certainly not all, skipping off some days doesn't still mean you are not been consistent as long as it's not taking a long time to start buying BTC again.

It's not true that DCA strategy doesn't make an investor consistent because DCAing carries with it consistency naturally and that's why it becomes easier for us to accumulate Bitcoin. Someone can be consistent naturally, but as long as they are DCAing, consistency that comes with DCAing blends with their already existing consistency ability which didn't deny the fact that DCAing can make someone who's not consistent consistent. Therefore DCAing makes or can make an investor consistent.
No @Obulis. Or are you then trying to tell us that DCA is that which puts investment money in our hands that we can use to be consistent...What truly determines your overall consistency is simply the availability of your discretionary income and not necessarily the fact that you are employing DCA... Take for example a part time worker who work only twice a month and get paid on the second day after their assigned duties are completed...Such an individual's ability to invest will solely be reliant on when they receive their earnings and how much discretionary income is realized after basic needs and necessities has been taken care of. .Now I will like you to compare this situation with that of someone who work and get paid hourly or daily or even Bi-weekly and is able to realize his discretionary income after receiving his payment... The reality is that the second individual with a more consistent income will frequently have more opportunities to invest, unlike the other who may have to keep waiting until their next payment, unless such an individual by chance get their discretionary income before the next paycheck from another unlikely source (like gifts from friends, office/or job promotions etc..)...

I had no doubt on dca, this method is very effective where everyone can use it anytime, whether small or big amount we can able to apply this whenerver we want it.
Then the big capitalist also use dca, meaning whether rich or not we all become equal in this method and this method is something that is really impressive.

Following the DCA strategy does not mean that you have to buy Bitcoin every week or every month under any circumstances. The main purpose of DCA is to invest regularly according to your financial capacity. If you do not have extra money in hand in a week or month, it is completely normal to stop buying Bitcoin. Such money should be used for investment outside of necessary obligations and emergency funds. If your income decreases in a month or unexpected expenses increase, there is no extra money to invest. In such a situation, it is not reasonable to take a loan or sell it to maintain continuity. You can wait for the financial situation to normalize by holding on to the Bitcoin you have. Later, when you have extra money again, you can start buying according to the previous plan. The continuity of your investment will mainly depend on long-term planning and financial discipline. Not on buying Bitcoin compulsively. It is also necessary to take care that temporary breaks do not become a habit. Even if you have extra money, if you repeatedly postpone your investment waiting for a better market price, it is not worth taking a break due to financial constraints. Your plan does not fail just because you are unable to invest in a week or month. The goal is to accumulate Bitcoin over the long term within your means, not to continue buying at any price even if you don't have the financial means.

Hehe. Some say that a DCA strategy can make us consistent? I think consistency is a personal decision, and it doesn't just apply to this specific area but to all our activities. The result is a consistent attitude. If we say that the DCA strategy makes it easier for us to accumulate it is certainly true, because this strategy does not have serious conditions for those who carry out the accumulation and this is a fact that both beginners or those who have been involved in this forum for a long time with a small amount does not hinder the interest of all parties who do it and what is needed is our consistent attitude and focus regularly in carrying out it in stages with the reason that sometimes our finances or our discretionary income are needed for other needs. Consistent investment undoubtedly makes an investor's long-term investment journey much easier. Instead of suddenly buying Bitcoin with a large amount, if I buy Bitcoin step by step with the same amount of money, then a compromise will be made between each purchase. Another area where DCA investment is safer and lasts longer is investing with residual money. If we do not decide at the time of investment that we may need in the future, we will have to set aside some money in advance. In addition, if we always try to buy with residual money, then our investors will not feel the investment pressure, which will allow us to continue investing for a long time without pressure. In long-term investments, it is very important to maintain consistency and maintain financial stability. It is never reasonable to invest a large amount of money at once based on emotions, because in such a situation, if the market goes against expectations due to volatility, then the situation will become much more difficult to handle, and it can also cause a lot of losses. It is more important to hold an investment for the long term, you invest a small amount, but ensure that it is held consistently and for the long term. In the case of Bitcoin investment, long-term certainty and stability are more important, so more attention should be paid to this issue. Investing the necessary money based on emotions will never be stable, rather emotions are for a very short time, it is never possible to survive by investing through emotions in the reality of a volatile market like Bitcoin. There is a class of investors who come to invest only after seeing others succeed, that is, such investors do not have the slightest idea of investment relationships. If the investment decision has to be seen by others and if an investor makes an investment by seeing the success of others, then that investor will not be able to hold his investment for a long time and similarly he will not be able to invest in the right way. If an investor invests a lot of money at once without understanding the good and bad of the market and just follows others directly, then within a few days of investment, the investor will be disappointed with the changes in the market and due to such disappointment, it will be seen that many times he sells the investment at a loss from the purchase price.

Telling a newbie about the DCA method is best thing you can do for that person, because most people get there Bitcoin investment awareness from quick money scheme commercials online, that is like getting of on the wrongest foot (excuse my language), knowing about Bitcoin investment and immediately getting to hear about the DCA method is very good head start.
It will be inspiring because it's less stressful, and it reduces the pressure that comes with volatility, which is not good for newbies.

Introducing newbies to DCA strategy is a good step especially when they get there awareness from the scheme you mentioned. However it is equally important teach them about discretionary income, emergency fund and backup fund because it is important for them to know where the money the want to invest should come from, what they need to do to prevent them from selling their bitcoin stash during an emergency situation and the money they can fall back to if they want to invest more or purchase something for personal need. The DCA can can help investors buy bitcoin consistently regardless of how big or small the discretionary income and help manage volatility but it cannot stop someone from investing money meant for essential needs, sale of bitcoin stash if they don't have any knowledge of discretionary income and emergency fund.

Yes, the discretionary income is the most important thing a newbie must know and need to figure out when embarking on bitcoin investment. With the discretionary income they can buy bitcoin and HODL it for long because that’s the money they won’t be needing anytime soon to solve basic financial obligations. Also with their discretionary income they can get to build an emergency funds and back up funds. Sometimes, what scares newbies about bitcoin investment is that they think they will be buying all the bitcoin at once and at such they feel they will be needing a huge amount of money before they can buy, but with the DCA pattern introduced to them they tend to discover that they can actually get to buy bitcoin little by little as they can afford with just the available discretionary income to them.

Yes there is no problem if an investor uses DCA strategy to buy bitcoins and maybe take a break for a few weeks or months without buying bitcoins but it seems to break the rules of pure DCA a bit but it doesn't completely destroy the long term investment strategy and consistency. The main objective of this method is to make regular purchases regardless of the ups and downs of the market, so i think when one takes breaks while using this technique it can be called modified or flexible DCA. Its main purpose is to reduce the amount of investment, that is, you can temporarily reduce the amount of your weekly or monthly budget by 50% or a little more without stopping the bitcoin investment, and when the price of bitcoin in the market is high, then reduce the amount of purchase and when the price is low, you should increase the amount of purchase so that you do not have to stop buying bitcoin for several weeks and months and can buy bitcoin regularly.

Hehe. Some say that a DCA strategy can make us consistent? I think consistency is a personal decision, and it doesn't just apply to this specific area but to all our activities. The result is a consistent attitude.
It actually looks like you have no idea of what DCA means or maybe you have forgotten but let me refresh your brain to the meaning once again. DCA (Dollar cost averaging) can be said to be an investment strategy where you investment some amount of money (it doesn’t actually needs to be fixed amount) into any assets and buy consistently either on weekly basis or monthly basis. But the main purpose is that we need to buy consistently at our own pace either weekly or monthly because when we don’t buy consistently then that can be said not be a DCA strategy again but something else. So technically DCA is an idea of buying consistently, however it doesn’t makes us consistent but we must be consistent otherwise we aren’t Dcaing. Consistency isn’t a personal choice or decision but a must when dcaing and can’t be negotiated unless we quit dca. Consistency is a choice, even within DCAing. We can make our own rules in regards to how whimpy or aggressive that we want to be, and being consistent might represent that we are trying to be more aggressive in the way that we are buying bitcoin, yet we can choose to go through spurts in our bitcoin investing and/or we could buy whenever we believe that we have extra money available, which might not end up being consistent, but still would be considered DCA, especially if we look over a long period of time and we jot down various times that we had bought bitcoin, and maybe there were some that were every week and there were varying amounts and there were various levels of chosen aggressiveness or whimpiness depending on how we felt, yet since we bought bitcoin over several transactions, that would still likely fit into the category of DCA buying. [edited out]
All what I’m saying is that we need to accumulate at so point and that why it is called dca, so we call buy consistently at our own convenient period. We can’t start dca and abandon accumulating like we are lump summing. You seem to be being too strict in your attempts to describe what is DCA and what is not DCA, and DCA is similar to lump summing, but it is not so similar to buying the dip. A guy can combine strategies and still be DCAing, and surely many times when income is coming in modestly and expenses are fairly regular, then DCAing might make the most sense, yet if guys have situations that they receive extra funds they might choose to supplement their DCAing with lump sum buying (buying right away) and buying on dips. As you likely noticed from various responses that you got, it can be confusing and even controversial if you try to be too strict in your definition of DCA, since even if each of us might strive to be consistent, persistent, regular, ongoing and even aggressive in our bitcoin buys, we may or may not be following DCA techniques, and the extent to which we choose to follow any of those (or how much we choose) are within our choices. We are not knocked out of being able to proclaim that we are DCAing merely because we choose to be whimpy rather than aggressive in our bitcoin accumulation. We might even change our mood from time to time, but that does not cause us to get knocked out of being able to claim that we are DCA buying bitcoin. [edited out]
Don't you think you are confusing yourself here? How can someone apply the DCA method without consistency and still call it DCA? Consistency is a choice when it comes to investing into bitcoin and/or the level of DCAing that a person chooses to pursue. Remember that guys can choose to be whimpy or aggressive or anywhere in the middle, which applies to a lot of areas of bitcoin including how consistency they choose to be or not to be in regards to their bitcoin buying. Sure, they likely will do better to be both consistent and aggressive, but that is their choice. Don't you know that one of the admirable attribute of the DCA method is the consistency that it makes the investor developed?
Of course, DCA facilitates an ability for guys to buy bitcoin whenever funds are available and they can also choose to try to invest in bitcoin every week. Yet they do not have to buy bitcoin every week in order to still be following a DCA strategy. If you are using weekly DCA and you buy this week and for the next five weeks you missed and bought on the sixth week and miss another two weeks and bought the next, you have automatically shifted from the DCA method to something else.
What you just described sounds like inconsistent DCA to me. I doubt that the hypothetical person that you described above had gotten knocked out of DCA buying merely based on inconsistencies in his bitcoin buying frequencies. You should not mistake the DCA method for something else because the DCA method requiring the investor to buy with little amount in relation to his income means he can accumulate for several times without feeling any financial burden.
Sure. Guys should be investing within their financial and their psychological means, yet they can still make adjustments to their investment amounts from time to time based on their perceived changes in their finances and/or their psychology, and they might even fuck up when they make their changes, yet they are not knocked out of being able to claim that they are DCAing merely because they are not being consistent with their method, the amounts of bitcoin that they are buying and/or the frequency of their bitcoin buys.

Investing in Bitcoin using the DCA method is highly recommended for both beginners and experienced investors. Besides its simplicity, it eliminates the need for market analysis. Buy at any price, and afterward, forget about it, consider it lost or locked up money. I've tried it before, but I failed to meet my target, and I also lacked discipline. The DCA method is ideal for long-term investments (1-4 years), but I only managed it for 6 months. How can others succeed for years?

Most times some of you thinks that HODLing BTC for a year or two is a long time investment, that year you bracket is actually short time, HODLing for long is from 4-10 years or more, so anyone buying and holding bitcoin for 1-2 years isn't investing for a long time but short time trader. The dca strategy is for long term bitcoin investors, traders don't use the dca strategy when buying BTC rather they could just target the dip and buy then sell if they see profit or sell at lost when price continue to dip. If you are investing in bitcoin for a year you can't succeed because it's a short time rather you can be buying BTC and hodl for 4-10 years+.

Too bad that you been here for more than 11 years, and you still have not figured out that bitcoin investing is 4-10 years or longer. If you are buying with a timeline that is less than 4 years then you are more likely trading rather than investing. And many guys might spend 4 years or more just building their bitcoin holdings, so they will have some older bitcoin buys that are close to 4 years or more, and then other buys that they just made recently. It seems a bit strange that a guy would spend 4 years or more DCA buying bitcoin, and then just sell it all. How could that be anything other than trading? DCA is better for investing rather than trading, especially since most guys should have an investment timeline of 10 years or longer, unless they have age and/or health considerations that do not allow them to invest for 10 years or longer, and then those guys would have a short-term investment timeline, yet that short term investment timeline should still be at least 4 years.

DCA is the ideal and best way to accumulate Bitcoin. It may be easier for you to do it regularly through discretionary income, but if you accumulate Bitcoin through required funds, you will not be able to go far. It is more ideal to have a continuous cycle in Bitcoin accumulation, if you can do multiple cycles, you will accumulate a decent size Bitcoin portfolio. 4-10 years is an ideal period for accumulating Bitcoin using DCA method. While it is not easy to accumulate Bitcoin for this long period of time, if you can do it only through discretionary income, it will be an easy investment method for investors of any income. This is how I personally accumulate Bitcoin and many long term investors probably do this method too. You should start over and build a Bitcoin stack slowly without straining your personal finances.

Men and women who hold Bitcoin for a year or two are indeed traders, the difference between them and the other traders is just the number months but then they are still doing the same thing in different times. That 12 months plus makes it seems too long for traders when it is actually less than investment period of 4-10 plus. Traders are the major opposition to DCAing because DCAing won't give them what they actually expect in a short time, so they go on not only looking for and predicting a dip, some go for that perfect dip which many times do not usually come through.

If someone does not have discretionary income, it may be reasonable to reduce their purchases or take a temporary break. It is logical to reduce the amount of purchases with changes in income and expenses and plan accordingly. But buying less because the price seems high and buying more because the price seems low is a decision to guess the next direction of the market. It is realistic that if the amount you have planned to buy decreases due to additional expenses this month, you will buy less. But if you increase your allocation just because the price has fallen, you may not have considered whether that additional money was previously set aside for investment. In this, market fluctuations can take you beyond your means. Therefore, it is better to keep the flexible plan within the income and expenses and the previously determined investment limits. If the amount you buy changes depending on the price, it will be clear to understand it as a separate strategy rather than following the same rule of regular buying.

I don't know what you meant by " accumulating Bitcoin through required funds, you won't go far" if I am not mistaken the only funds that is required in Bitcoin investment is our discretionary income so why won't someone go far in their Bitcoin investment when using their discretionary income? The only time someone won't go far in their Bitcoin investment is if they used money meant for their needs or expenses so don't get it twisted before you mislead newbie. Doing multiple cycle won't make you have a decent portfolio rather the amount you are accumulating with and how consistent you are will determine how far you will go.

Perhaps he meant "required funds" to mean emergency funds or funds needed to meet basic needs. Because he was later heard to say that using such funds, a Bitcoin portfolio cannot be maintained for a long time. Yes, since investing in Bitcoin is a long-term process, it is necessary to use money that you would have had without it. That is, you have to take out money from your income to invest in Bitcoin that you have never needed and will not need in any emergency situation in the future. In that case, you can create an emergency fund to protect your Bitcoin funds so that if an emergency situation arises, you can use the emergency fund to deal with the emergency situation. But if someone invests in Bitcoin beyond their discretionary income, their investment can be at risk, especially if they need to sell Bitcoin at an untimely time. In that case, you will not be able to reach your ultimate goal. Therefore, instead of investing the entire amount of money left over from a person's income after meeting basic needs in Bitcoin, it is necessary to deposit some money in the emergency fund until an emergency fund is ready and he can buy Bitcoin with some of it. However, when the size of the emergency fund is a little larger (usually when the amount of money in the bank is enough to cover three months of expenses), then the investor can invest aggressively in Bitcoin if he wants, that is, he can operate the DCA method with most of his discretionary income.

Bitcoin price action is quite unpredictable over the short term, so anyone who starts DCA with idea of selling everything after 1 or 2 years is essentially setting a deadline for their investment. IMO, DCA is a strategy for building your position. Goal is to use money you can afford to invest long term and keep on DCAing as you gradually build your Bitcoin holdings. No pressure to make a profit within a few months, no need to predict the market. Just time and patience.

Discretionary income is what is needed to start investing in bitcoin. If it happens you found yourself in a situation where you no longer have discretionary income the best thing will be to stop or take a break and work on your finances. You can continue your bitcoin accumulation once you have discretionary income at your disposal and not reducing your purchases by using money that is needed for your basic needs.
