Israel's Largest Bank Approves Bitcoin Even on the eve of the horrors of this war, Israel has taken a groundbreaking step in its acceptance of Bitcoin. While the whole world is afraid of the horrors of war, a famous and popular bank in Israel, Leumi, has taken a groundbreaking step for its customers. They have allowed customers to buy Bitcoin, which will start from 2027. The bank has directly allowed customers to buy, hold and sell Bitcoin and they have approved an app where they can buy, sell and hold Bitcoin. Bitcoin Magazine In this case it’s not a strategic reserve. This is a client’s property, that might be held at the bank. If a client buys bitcoins nothing is registered in bank’s balance sheet. Guys, this news is totally off topic. The important thing to recognize in the above explanation is that the client’s Bitcoin and the bank’s Bitcoin for client’s are two separate things. When you purchaseBitcoin with the help of a bankand the bank is only looking after a record or storage, for custody it remains client’s and not that part of the strategic holdings of the bank. Under the normal conditions of custody, properly segregated client assets cannot be treated as your bank’s own balance sheet assets. Even Federal Reserve in the U.S also acknowledge that custodial assets is typically not recorded on the banks balance sheet, in accordance with U.S GAAP. So classifying your client’s Bitcoins as ‘strategic reserves‘ can often prove to be misnomers in the above context. What actually matters here is how the ownership or possession of these Bitcoins goes to both parties. And we know, that matters, especially when you want to decipher news such as these.

UAE JUST ANNOUNCED THEY NOW OWN $760,000,000 WORTH OF BITCOIN IN THEIR NATIONAL RESERVE OIL MONEY IS NOW OFFICIALLY BUYING BITCOIN IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING Source This is truly a game changer attempt for the Middle East and this effect will hit South East in the end. This reserve will become an example for developing countries in the future. They are heading in the right direction. The UAE has never had a strategic Bitcoin reserve. Instead, its sovereign wealth funds, like Mubadala and Al Warda Investments, hold over 20 million Bitcoin ETF shares, making them SWFs with substantial investments in Bitcoin, even though they don't directly hold any. They also hold 6,400–6,700 BTC from the Citadel Mining entity. So, it's best to do some research before posting, and don't jump to conclusions from Twitter accounts that only post to chase engagement.

The key point to remember from the preceding talk is that the client's Bitcoin and the bank's Bitcoin for clients are two separate entities. When you acquire Bitcoin through a bank, the bank only manages the record or storage; custody remains with the consumer and is not one of the bank's strategic assets. Under conventional custody arrangements, properly segregated client funds cannot be deemed your bank's balance sheet assets. Even the Federal Reserve in the United States admits that custodial assets are frequently not reported on a bank's balance sheet in accordance with US GAAP.
In the context of the above, categorising your client's Bitcoins as'strategic reserves' might often be a mistake. What matters here is how ownership or possession of these Bitcoins is transferred to both parties. And we know that matters, especially when it comes to deciphering news like this.

THE PHILIPPINES INTRODUCED A BILL BUY 10,000 #BITCOIN AND ESTABLISH A STRATEGIC RESERVE "BTC HAS OUTPACED ALL OTHER ASSET CLASSES, WITH A COMPOUND ANNUAL GROWTH OF ABOUT 40%" "THE CREATION OF BTC RESERVES HAVE ALREADY GAINED TRACTION GLOBALLY" GAME THEORY IS PLAYING OUT GLOBALLY 🚀 Source link: https://x.com/i/status/2089288057690181648
They bought 10,000 Bitcoins in the Philippines when the market was corrected, and they formed a Bitcoin strategic reserve to use this Bitcoin to change the economic situation of their country. I like this very much because they have plans to buy more Bitcoins later, if they form a strategic reserve, They will definitely be successful because the price of Bitcoin has been corrected greatly at the moment. And the market is going to dip, so it is very logical for them to buy Bitcoin in this situation and more other countries will be attracted to Bitcoin.

Sounds like an interesting offer, but we must specify that the purchase of 10,000 BTC has not yet been confirmed. This quantity was only cited in the proposal for the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve initiative and consisted in the purchase of 10,000 BTC for five years. Such a reserve can result in an interesting experience of Bitcoin adoption for the state, though the high volatility of cryptocurrencies means that it will prove quite risky. Here, Kazakhstan is clearly trying to implement a plan for Bitcoin mining https://x.com/i/status/2080287448932753603. However, from here they can take their country a little further and there may be a possibility of improving their Bitcoin holdings a little. But you see, other countries have been mining like them for a long time, you can look at the country of El Salvador. This country of El Salvador has been mining Bitcoin for a long time, but we are usually discussing Bitcoin strategic reserves in this topic. So it is best not to discuss Bitcoin mining. What the Kazakh government is doing is an effort to develop its strategic reserves through strategic partnerships. The concept has been well thought out and will be implemented. Therefore, its success or failure depends on how well it attracts investors to invest in this strategic mining program. This doesn't mean that El Salvador's failure to achieve its full potential will mean that other countries pursuing similar initiatives will too, it's too early to draw such conclusions. So let's just take a look at their plans and how they develop in the future. That it's premature to evaluate Kazakhstan's strategy. Mining can be a way to gain BTC for a country. But the key is whether the mining approach can be profitable and sustainable in the long run. Strategic Reserve shouldn't rely on the assumption of a high price or high mining profitability of Bitcoin. El Salvador's example also demonstrates that acquiring BTC is just half the story how to manage. Reveal transparency, control risk, and develop long term policy is equally if not more important. In the meantime. If Kazakhstan manages to draw in serious investments and establish a viable mining environment. It will be a potentially interesting example for state-level Bitcoin mining.

The bill was introduced in June 2025 by Senator MIGUEL LUIS. You can see it here: https://docs.congress.hrep.online/legisdocs/basic_20/HB00421.pdf So it's not new news, that X account is just pushing old news to attract people's attention. Furthermore, there's no need to have high expectations for the bill to pass, as the Philippine government hasn't prioritized Bitcoin. Therefore, even though the bill was introduced a year ago, it was only a draft and wasn't acted upon by parliament.

The buy of 10,000 BTC was part of the proposal for a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve initiative. So if it does get pushed ahead it may be an interesting case of states buying Bitcoin. In the meantime, the huge volatility of Bitcoin is an important concern for a buy of that size. If it will move forward, clear guidelines, well-thought strategy and risk-management would be crucial. We will be watching to see if this becomes a fact with an actual state-backed Bitcoin reserve.

I don't know what happens and there are many medias bump this news, then it seems they are using it to hype people. But currently it seems that there's no further actions done and this bill remains pending or even didn't reach at higher level. But still its good that some politician try to pass it and who knows in future their bill together with other intention succeed. Attraction is not instant and this will only if they see Bitcoin doing then start to pump again.

It seems Bitcoin becoming or used as a true strategic reserve gets bleaker by the day. I guess the best they could offer was using seized coins as their reserve. The closest good thing I have heard about Bitcoin and a country It's the decision on Iran towards Strait of Hormuz where tolls and insurance are via Bitcoin Using it for something aside strategic reserve A money that is censorship resistance.

This level of understanding of the feature of bitcoin by the Iran regime amazed me. That was exactly the reason why we need bitcoin: nobody can stop it. And for every terrorist or dictator that uses bitcoin there will be thousands of people using it for legitimate uses, even for exalting that very regime or dictator. Bitcoin just works

Now the US debt is at an all time high and still going The reason they brought about the strategic reserve for Bitcoin then was one as a result of their rising debt And the took it as a passing promise Now reality is hitting Bitcoin is soaring Debt is soaring And the former isn't looking good for both the US and the world Since at the end when inflation comes knocking as one of the biggest exporters in the world The world would share from the burden.

I am not too overly optimistic about this. In the end, the Bitcoin Strategic Reserve is a top-down adoption phenomenon: the government recognises the value of Bitcoin and adopts it. The true value of Bitcoin will be discovered the other way round, I suggest: it will be the people, starting from the south of the world, realising its value against governments, and adopting it. It will be slower, but based on stronger foundations.

This is where my thinking on the matter coincides with you as well. Of course, government intervention in Bitcoin will speed up the adoption process, but ultimately it would be that the public adoptsBitcoin because they trust its store of value. It may take years to reach, and be an even rockier process for developing countries, but Bitcoin has the potential of becoming more decentralized.

I agree with you a lot. Bitcoin Strategic Reserve can definitely be a positive symbol as when a government starts to treat Bitcoin as a reserve asset, many of the negative perceptions of Bitcoin are reduced. I don't believe this is the most significant market for Bitcoin adoption. The government has the power to buy Bitcoins now and change policy later. Political leadership can change, regulations can change and even holding Bitcoin doesn't ensure that it gives financial freedom to ordinary people. What's stronger is bottom-up adoption of the power of Bitcoin. If a regular guy knows his local money is losing value, his bank account can be cut off, there could be capital restrictions, or he could need to hold his savings, without the authorization of anybody else, then Bitcoin isn't just a speculation for him. After that, he starts to realize the usefulness of Bitcoin for his purposes. In many such section , people face issues of inflation, low currency, lack of banking facilities and cross border payments in a much more important way than in the other countries. It might not be necessary to label Bitcoin as a government reserve for them to recognize its worth. I think that's a much more natural approach to crypto adoption if someone puts a small amount of their income into Bitcoin, learns how to do it themselves and uses or accumulates it over the years. That's why I'm not too excited about top down adoption. But of course if the government reserves Bitcoin, it can be good for the market, good demand, good legitimacy. if Bitcoin is, in the end, used exclusively as a government, bank and big corporations balance sheet item, we are missing a significant social value of Bitcoin. Second, the government adoption can seek to Bitcoin into the existing financial world. People may rely on third parties and there will be more Bitcoin exposure in the form of KYC, regulated custody, reporting, institutional products, etc. It is important to take precautions with such custody and financial product exposure. Weaker adoption is simply when people are purchasing Bitcoin because the president has said they should or because they have been told that they should. To me stronger adoption is when people are buying Bitcoin because they have a reason for scarce money, self-custody, and having an alternative monetary network outside of the fiat system. This process may take a long time. It will not get the attention of the public in a day like a government announcement. So I would think of the Strategic Reserve as a bonus, rather than a base. The foundation should be the voluntary adoption, self-custody, and understanding of the monetary value of Bitcoin by ordinary people from their own experience. I don't care if it's slow to adopt that's a much more solid base to me.

The thing is If something big doesn't occur People would not notice that something Is wrong. Bitcoin success would also be tied to the financial crisis as at then Where many got tired of intermediaries. Iran night have not considered Bitcoin if the US hadn't frozen their money. Something has to happen for most people to realize why they should own Bitcoin especially countries.
