I thought JetCash and Vod were the only members near to the age; there must be some pretty interesting OGs still among us who haven't come out to say their age yet. With today's processed diets and artificial farming, it would be a miracle for our generation to reach your current age, let alone have a huge bicep at that age. You've shown that fitness has no age restriction and that there is always an opportunity to start one.

Among the meals you suggested to avoid, the only one I was struggling with and going back and forth on was bread; they make these breads appealing by using favorite celebrities in marketing. But the wheat bread is better.

as a ¾ italian descendant I really miss Italian bread 🥖 dipped in olive oil.

I eat some bread, but it was every day now It is not monthly. I skip a whole month often.

Pasta five times a week is no more. Maybe 10 times in a year.

Btw if you know you are diabetic whole wheat bread is still no good.

I can cheat on the diet say 2 meals in 10 days

So 28 clean meals and 2 not so good.

Isn't wheat bread with reduced or no sugar intended for diabetic patients? I always recommend this, and the online doctors I know always advise diabetes patients to eat only wheat bread if they must eat bread. You are the only one advising the contrary, and I'd like to know why.

Ya I saw that, but after reading the title, I can't support a thread giving "homage" to a lying manipulative prick for his gimmick paid-to-post thread in the wrong section. Outside of the lies he's pushed about his crap scheme, if people knew the amount of personal things he has said and done to me privately (and publicly) because I simply questioned his lies, maybe people would understand. I realize this is what narcissists do to make their foes look crazy, so I try not to react or respond directly to his BS these days, but it's seeing others I've respected stroking him off that kills me. IIWII, plenty of other great members on this forum that I respect and I'll keep my focus on that and ignore the rest.

Anyway, I'm glad that thread is in the right section and glad philip is adding more into his routine, but at this point, I don't need any additional aggravation in my life. I'm in a routine that combines ~30-40 difference exercises in ~40-45 minutes, usually 5 days a week, mixing moderate & intense cardio calisthenics, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, burpees, etc. while combining other lower cardio calisthenics, squats, lunge twists, planks, etc... no push-ups though, focused on the core mainly. On the other days, a shorter 15-20 minute routine with a medicine ball and free weights. Cutting out red meat as much as I can and adding berberine, vitamins and plant-derived protein & minerals has helped a lot with energy levels and controlling hunger.

It would be great to add more in but overall I can only devote 45 minutes to my routine and some days I can't even get that in, push-ups and stair stepping at this point wouldn't be an efficient use of my time, I ultimately just add weight to what I'm doing already to keep increasing intensity. That said, I completely get that everyone needs to start somewhere and any exercise is technically positive if you're doing nothing currently, so happy to see that (for those actually doing it, which IMO isn't that many....)

Hey great job there Phil, that's more pushups than I've done in years. You set a goal for yourself and you kept it. Not bad! that is the lower end of my rib cages.


The hernia surgery will make me not have a visible six pack

but it is still there. under a bit of fat and the hernia mesh under my belly button.

this is one of two reasons I have to mode the pushups with the easier angle.

I stress an injured big toe and I stress the mesh when doing a full flat normal pushup.

Among the meals you suggested to avoid, the only one I was struggling with and going back and forth on was bread; they make these breads appealing by using favorite celebrities in marketing. But the wheat bread is better.

I eat some bread, but it was every day now It is not monthly. I skip a whole month often.

Btw if you know you are diabetic whole wheat bread is still no good.

Isn't wheat bread with reduced or no sugar intended for diabetic patients? I always recommend this, and the online doctors I know always advise diabetes patients to eat only wheat bread if they must eat bread. You are the only one advising the contrary, and I'd like to know why.

Simple its filled with carbs.  your body changes them to sugar and you can’t handle the sugar.

so

a) you stay hungry  as you spend energy changing the wheat to which your body can not digest.

b) to give an example I can eat two full sized pizzas 🍕 16 slices 8 per pie and a quart of beer.

still be hungry and lose weight doing it as essentially I am not eating food as far as my body is concerned I am exercising to change shitty carbs into sugar which is basically a poison for me.

look into keto diets they recommend zero wheat or close to zero wheat.

20 carbs 3 are fiber that means 17 net carbs are bad in 1 fucking slice

a sandwich is 2 slices or 34 carbs.  Most days I eat 25-50 carbs the whole day.

My body can not handle two slices of bread with toast breakfast
two slices of bread lunch.

that would be 68.

i would have to skip fruit and nuts and most veg as they have carbs

all pretty much better than any bread carb even our whole wheat.

so bread cereal pasta and beer all go out the window.

in December I ate two sandwiches and four slices of bread.with olive oil for the whole month.

the sandwiches were chicken breast mayo cheese lettuce and tomatoes.

so in 31 days I have had under 16 oz of bread about 200 grams of carbs or six grams a day.

pasta I had a special pasta with very very very high fiber net 3 grams maybe six serving so it nets 20



and my cereal was net 8 for 15 days or 120.

add all that up and you get 340 grams of fiber a month around 10-11 grams from grains in a month

so,yeah whole wheat is better than white bread but neither is better.

the old food pryamid what say have 225 grams of carbs a day.

or 6700-7000 grams a month

I am under 1000 grams a month .

some with grains including wheat.
some with fruit
some with cake
some with pastry
some with veggies

when you try to,stay low on carbs. you have to make choices.

I rather have a piece of fruit
a piece of chocolate
a piece of pie
a cookie
whipped cream

than whole wheat bread.

as all of them do not help that much health wise for me.

actually the
whipped cream
the dark chocolate are healthier for me than the bread.


but cholesterol is not an issue for me so I can pretty much eat any kind of fat.

a lot of people get lost thinking grain carbs are okay  if you are predisposed to diabetes thaey are terrible.
