You can support for the underdogs in a sport not only in NBA but any sport really. It is always fun to see unexpected victories that defy all odds kind of thing but you have to also understand that this does not come easily. So if you are to bet on the underdogs, expect that there will be little to none profit made.

Even if they end up winning a few matches, it will still not be as profitable if you just went for the popular well known strongest team in the sport currently. If you are gambling for fun then this can be exciting but profit? Forget about it.

There have been some upsets that I encountered, with one just recent for CS2. And the icing on the cake was that the underdog was displaying an over-5 odds (EU) versus the topdog which was less than 1.5.

So yeah, doesn't hurt to bet on the underdog if their recent performances aren't very spotty.

I do like to betting on the underdogs because I feel like the amount I spent to make analysis will worth it since if I won, the return would be big. Betting on underdogs isn't a strategy, at least for me, I just like it for my own excitement.

I would say, parlay on few favorite match seems more profitable than betting on underdogs.

I do not know about NBA, but in football betting, betting on underdog will only make you lose more. Just know that sport betting sites are setting odds in a way that most punters will lose. If you do not bet for fun, just do not bet because the odds are not favoring people that bet. I guess NBA betting odds will be similar to football betting odds.

And in my opinion, if predicting or choosing a win for an underdog team accurately, it is a difficult challenge to do because it is likely or often the result will be lost, but this will be very profitable if we choose the favorite team to win because it can generate higher profits that often happen unexpectedly. I would say that it's still best you as a gambler know what you are doing and who you are getting on, this gives you a good headway and confidence in your bets, someone who is extremely lucky can do this you said and still be profitable, but several other gamblers practising the same may end up losing mote bets than they ever will win since like many of us already know, the underdogs do not win all the time, if actually they were guaranteed to always win, then sports competition won't actually be what it is, and betting on this events may not even exist.

So for me, I will prefer to stick to betting on matches I am very familiar with, and also have a good level of knowledge on the players, which is what helps me tell the possible outcome of a match more accurately, this is much better for me than focusing on betting on the underdogs on sports matches I have no knowledge of, and also zero knowledge on the players themselves as well.

Not forbidden to do this once in a while though, (I myself do this once in a while) and better to keep it in the "once in a while zone" than making such betting style a regular thing.

this kind of strategy is a high risk high reward scenario since the bookmakers will decide to put higher odds on the underdog team not really expecting the team to win if you manage to bet on this team and they win you will get a higher profit than if you just betted on the team that everyone is betting to win

when you want to use this strategy dont just pick any random underdog you also have to analyze still what makes them an underdog is it the players? is it just the team? the coach? like why are they performing badly and can the players turn it around?

I frequently betting on underdog via handicap match. I typically place my bet they are already behind by so many points then choose the highest +points since it’s already have a decent odds.

This underdog team especially on NBA usually have a mini run to cut the lead while the favorite usually lighten their play by removing their starters slowly and giving more hours to bench player so the chance of cutting the lead is veey high to cover the points spread I need to win my bet.

Let's say if underdogs beat the favorite on quite often then this strategy works but if they can only manage to win only 10% of the time the strategy is losing money not making any. I explained about sport betting in other thread too, you can't be profitable in sports betting either picking the high odds or the safety low odds cause just one game against your prediction will eat up all the profits you made so be rational and don't try to make money from gambling.

Betting on the underdogs should have to be on rare circumstances, not frequent unless you end up taking more loses than you should. Rare circumstances are based on some factors like the worth of squad available for the game or checking out the number of injury players that make out the first team, just like the current situation in Madrid, weighing the risk a gambler can either choose the underdogs as a possible option.

I won't sell it as much profitable, since the gambler will also be forced to use a minimum offer on the bet making the winning little as compared to staking on the favorite team.

Exactly, there’s team assigned as underdog because they are facing the top team but that doesn’t mean they are weak team. Bookie refers on the stats to assign odds while some top team sometimes get higher rank positions just because they are facing weaker team on their previous matches.

Betting on the underdog team offers good Odds. I have done it several times for football betting, but not betting on teams in the top leagues. I bet on teams in smaller leagues available on betting sites. I think the odds of the underdog team having a good chance of winning in the smaller leagues.
Of course, betting on the odds of the underdog team winning will not be able to consistently produce good results. So we have to choose and follow first some teams that are indeed worthy for us to bet on.
Betting on teams in the top leagues is more interesting. Sometimes the favorite team does not always win. But the situation may not always favor the underdog team. A draw for the underdog team is also considered good when facing a strong team.

Not really. I was once looking for an upset every time in UFC event but its rare to happen especially if you look at the fight record and how their skills are compare to the others. Same in boxing it doesn't really look good to underdog when bookmakers declare them underdog.

But when the champ is getting older, thats when you may just get a chance for underdog to win. I'm not sure in other sports like NBA or soccer but normally I bet on the fave.

It's a possibility yes, one I wouldn't consider all the time though. They're called "underdogs" for a reason, they're teams that are rising up defeating stronger teams but that doesn't mean they're stronger than the others yet. There could be countless factors involved here and it's up to you to judge. Granted I have done the same. I mean, as I've always said before, seeing that underdog/anime moment by OG in TI8 and TI9, anyone would believe in any team being uthe nderdog lol.

Anyhow, it's doable, not just recommended to do all the time. Still gotta judge that team!

In a feature where the favorite had about 3 losing streaks,  choosing the weaker team would be the right choice.
