There is no  way that gambling will not affect gambling because you cannot do both together,you either study or you gamble.

if you mean studying as a minor then definitely you can't do it both but if you mean studying as an adult, in college or further studies then i think it is okay as long as you know your limits it is like saying we can't work and gamble at the same time when gambling is just a form of entertainment at the end of the day

I've actually seen a student who became addicted to gambling to the extent that he started using his school fees to gamble. He didn't even stop there, he went as far as using every dime he received from his parents as upkeep including money for textbooks. His parents didn't realize early that their son who they sent to go study had become addicted to gambling. It was in his final year that one of his lecturers who saw that something was wrong with him took his parents contact from his to reach out to his parents. Subsequent investigation revealed that he's been gambling since his second year in tertiary institution.

Just like the student who became an addict, a lot of students today have allowed gambling affect their studies which is why I think there should be measures to curb such societal menace

You're on point mate. Student could be those who are still under aged and aren't mature enough to make proper risk management because they're too excited of discovering  a new source of income rather than seeing gamble as a threat to their financial  and mental health.the worse part is, even after some couple of losses they always  tends to keep their hopes up instead of realizing the damages that gamble could cause, but this where supposed to be one of the smartest set of individuals. I Stumbled on a news that "Betting Companies in Uganda Luring Students to lost their Futures" with fake bonuses and promise of big wins. According to the explanation, the time you use in the casino affect your future and life which would have been used for studies. They use an idiomatic expression to portray the point by saying that " robbers came to steal money which your properties", but casinos came to steal your time, which will affect everything in your life in the future. So their brighten futures only ended up in gambling.  And they further said the 30% of the students are well engaged in online gambling instead of focusing their students. And for "Sports Betting" and the money that is meant for tuition fees were used in this act.
And that prompt the regulators to come up and say that gambling companies are exploiting the students with unrealistic wins. And research shows that 97% of the students used mobile phones to gamble online during school hours as a disguised as entertainment.

If we do try out to make some comparison about into the previous year than into the current or in present then there's so much change in terms of communication or lets say into the accessibility of information on which this one pertains about on social media on which this is that highly addictive and most people now are already having their own mobile phone even into those kids or young people. We can definitely say that we are almost prone into other things that we do see online on which it will be influencing into theactions that we might be taking into. There are just that those individuals who are that good when it comes to balancing things on which not all be spending on online rather than on making up some face to face interaction. True if children follows their parents footsteps the world would been a better place, many thing the children do today the parents never do them, its just our world. The way their train our parents is the different from how our parents train us today. internet has more influence to the children than parents. so its hard to copy your parents life styles. As for me, my parents hate gambling and they banned us from playing it. yet we still play because we have access to the internet and i can play without stepping outside. Parents really has no say on the impact of gambling on children, but they can reduce it by  playing advisory role.

Sports are a very necessary part of life. But gambling is beyond the essential part of life. Many students are losing a lot of money in their studies due to their gambling addiction. Just as gambling is causing financial harm to an adult, it is also causing great harm to students in their studies.

And OP, I could not agree with your advice. You do not want to have children because you will be addicted to gambling. If you can give your child an honest education, then that child will be a blessing to you. And if you cannot give your child an honest education, then that child will be a curse in your life. If you want to get something good in life, you have to work hard. So you have to work hard, have children, and raise your child honestly. This is a part of human life.

My experience is that students want to earn more to pay their session fees and they may not have any other option than gambling. The amount of money that parents allocate for them should be enough for them to study but during the mental growth of students, there is a tendency to earn more money. To plan the future of their children well, it is more important to manage your own life properly because the initial knowledge gained from the family is considered an invaluable asset for a child throughout his life. The right idea about gambling and its negative and positive ideas should be given so that he is mentally prepared. The education and conscience received from the family makes him a person with the right personality.

At this age , when students are in the university, they will always want to look for other means to have extra funds apart from what their parents gives to them. It's a business. Then, it's a choice whether one will gamble or not. It's not about them.

Most people want to be wealthy, and these businessmen are just doing the same. They chose gambling because there's really money in it, but it will still depend on the gamblers if they will play or not for a casino to succeed. I have seen many online casinos fail due to a lack of support or just a lack of reputation to keep the gamblers coming back for more. They do marketing to keep it alive, but that doesn't mean they are forcing an individual to gamble, especially students.

As a parent, I think it will be my fault if my kid stops going to school due to gambling. I think that's my responsibility to put him back on the right path, and I cannot blame the online casino for it.

There are those who seek thrills, such people can seek them anywhere, even exceed the speed limit on the road, but such people are reckless and they will lose, because they are not looking for winnings but just adrenaline. There are not many such people among students because they are young people who have not yet decided on their lives, and students often do not have much money yet and they are just starting to learn how to manage what they have. I admit that every student will want to try gambling at least once, because advertising attracts people and shows them big wins.

No one should be quick to blame gambling companies for the lapses of their customers who aren't disciplined enough to know the right time to gamble and when not to gamble.

Dopamine chase is the best term that classifies what happens to both social media users and gamblers. However, gamblers feel the most pain because money is involved. Unless a social media user was deceived to invest on fake schemes, their regrets will only rely on wasted time and change of focus, unlike a player that suffers all that a social media users would go through and still bear the pain of losing money.

My friend, you sound like you are in a vicious circle... But it seems like you know the source of it all (only you know what that word "sorrow" represents), but you can't escape it. Some people can get out of a problem on their own, but some people need a little help, someone to give them encouragement, something like a sponsor (I have only seen that in movies, but it's a good thing), someone to talk to when things go downhill.

If you don't have anyone close to you with whom you can share this, I'm sure there are many members of this forum who would help you with this matter. Start a thread, contact someone with whom you have shared a little more of yourself.
