Parents are quite aware of their children, but their children are also much smarter than their parents these days. Especially now, school children save their tiffin money and participate in gambling at some point. I've said it 100 times in topic about gambling in front of children - dont hide gambling, show and explain instead. Let kids form vision that gambling is pure entertainment, but education is obligatory today. But no, people in that topic refused to listen to me and continued to insist on hiding and gambling secretly. Any student that gambles will not take his studies serious because he will always be looking for how to get money in order for him to gamble with his friends. Children of today are very clever. They can easily figure out the strategies of how to manage and who to inform or request so that they can do those things for them. I have seen some gamblers who are minors but they gamble online. When they are asked about their KYC, they do those things through others. That is why it is not possible to stop them from gambling in any way. Wow that is very concerning news if it really happens, this is a big problem that can threaten the future of the young generation in the country, I don't know whether gambling is legal in Uganda or not but regardless of whether gambling is legal, still allowing students to gamble freely is a big mistake that can threaten the future of the young generation there, especially to the point of dropping out of school.

On the part of gambling, that is student been allowed to gamble is purely not the fault of the parents but the government of that country.I believe all gambling companies in any countries should be given a regulation that will guide them on how they will operate in the country.If government of the country concerned we're to enact a law prohibiting students from gambling definitely no casino owners will want to go against such laws unless they want to stop operating in that country.If kyc is enforce by all casinos on it's customers I think they can be able to determine those that are students and then restrict them from having asses to their site or platform.

Does gambling effect studies?  I would assume not directly, but anything abused has consequences.  If you are letting gambling take an effect on your studies, that is really more of an addiction problem with yourself that you should seek help for before it makes your life worse.  There are some people who can gamble fine with no consequences and there are others who lose everything they've worked their entire life for.  Try to be self-aware and make good decisions.

If gamblers are addicted and used to substances like drugs and alcohol, I don't think gambling is the cause; something else is responsible for these addictions. Gambling at a tender age will only cause one to become more addicted because young people don't really understand the value of money.

Young gamblers who are addicted normally do crazy things to gamble, and these habits typically cause them a lot of damage. Gambling at a tender age is not encouraging at all; it has more effects and is very difficult to handle.

Btw, I have noticed that someone said that students gamble to get money to pay for studies, and students are always in short of money. A huge question to those who have submitted documents and entered the university, did not they before entering though and calculated if they will be able to pay for studies? Being a student and also becoming a gambler doesn't occur well for the individual. Never had the consequences ever ended in favour of the student. I may be wrong but I am sure it's not going to be more than 1/10 happening in favour of the student. A student is a dependant, mostly those in their first degree programme, so it's possible that those money they waste on gambling would be coming from parents and well-wishers who are sponsoring their education.

This might still work with a child but having a conversation with threats makes no sense because if you scare a child with something you need to show that you will stick to your words. But often parents just scare the child to stop them from doing something bad and then feel sorry about punishing them. As a result the child sees that it does not work and stops taking it seriously.

With teenagers it is even more difficult because they are growing up and start to believe they have the right to manage their own lives. In this case they will treat your words even more superficially. When it comes to students these are already independent people who will make decisions on their own. So it makes sense to just talk to them and share your opinion. If they agree with you they will listen and if not they will learn from their own mistakes.

If childs mind is busy with something else besides education, it will make an effect. At my time it was computer games that were problem of bad results. Parents can do everything, give million explanations how education is important, talk about it everyday. But if computer games is the only thing in childs mind, he turns deaf to what parents say.
