Pls don't misunderstand, just an assumption: if Bitcoin were to reach $500 again today, do you think people would still be willing to buy?

In my opinion, it would have two implications. Firstly, it would likely have ruined many people's investments and life savings, considering those who bought in at $10k, $20k, or even $100k.
Secondly, it would reinforce the skepticism of those who don't trust digital currencies due to their perceived unreliability. So, if it happens, would you still buy it?
Whether Bitcoin is 500k or 500 dollars, those who don't love or believe in Bitcoin will never be interested in investing. However, those who believe in Bitcoin and are interested in investing will invest in any market at any time, taking risks. However, one thing is that if Bitcoin suddenly drops from $85,000 to $500, then a kind of question arises among all investors about Bitcoin: will Bitcoin actually survive?
Those holding Bitcoin will be struck with a kind of fear and will lose all their life savings and become completely speechless.
The same sentence will be used when the price of Bitcoin touches $ 500K and people hope $ 1 million, this mindset mechanism will remain the same, just like before, people think if there will be fear when the price of Bitcoin at that time is $ 10,000 and hoping $ 100k, the fact is not? And people think further and further so that the expectations are formed in the shadow of the holders with realistic calculations such as the increase in ATH after Halving and so settling.

Yes, it will seem catastrophic if it ever dipped to that point. Maybe from this price it's currently at –$84k+, it will be very alarming. However, we shouldn't also forget that Bitcoin has also had several down moments where a lot of investors sold off hurriedly in fear. We saw it get to around $3k after it tested $19k ATH in 2017. It later picked and did above $68k in 2021. So, there will be some that will also harbour that feeling that Bitcoin would pick even if it were to touch $500. I would consider it an opportunity to own a whole Bitcoin if that scenario were to present itself now.

During the 2018 and 2021 bear cycles, bitcoin fell more than 84% and 72% respectively. But if the price of bitcoin falls to $500 from now, that means bitcoin will have lost more than 99% of its value. I don't see them as the same and it could be a sign of the end rather than just a warning. Because we need to know that the position of bitcoin today is completely different from 5 or 10 years ago, bitcoin is considered as digital gold and has a future to compete with gold. It is no longer an asset to gamble or speculate on to get rich quick, so losing 99% of its value would cause people's confidence to collapse.

On the contrary, I do not see it as an opportunity to own a potential asset at a cheap price, but as an opportunity to gamble.

Although it seems impossible to me, if Bitcoin ever reaches $500, I will definitely buy it. If I don't have the money, I will even sell my land to buy it. Many people think that Bitcoin will soon reach its all-time high again. However, there is nothing impossible in crypto currency.

Because we need to know that the position of bitcoin today is completely different from 5 or 10 years ago, bitcoin is considered as technical gold and has a future to compete with gold. It is no longer an asset to gamble or speculate on to get rich quick, so losing 99% of its value would cause people's confidence to collapse.

On the contrary, I do not see it as an opportunity to own a potential asset at a cheap price, but as an opportunity to gamble.

Well, Bitcoin is still struggling to reach a new ATH. Meanwhile, Gold continues to soar towards new heights. How can Bitcoin be trusted as digital Gold this way? I guess it's too early for BTC to replace Gold. Either way, don't expect Bitcoin to lose a large percentage of its value. It's practically impossible these days, considering that a lot of companies and governments are heavily invested in it. Even banks are exploring adding BTC to their portfolio.

The bear market will lower down prices, but not in a "catastrophic way". Who needs BTC to go to $500, anyways? Just take advantage of every small dip to build your way towards generational wealth. Volatility is the key for making profit. Buy low, sell high. With how far Bitcoin has gone, I'm certain it will reach a new ATH soon. Maybe $100k is the next target? I sure hope so...

Well, it's obvious we're looking at the same thing entirely from two different perspectives.

I like to speculate on projects before I buy. I don't just rush to buy because others are buying. In fact, I like to buy when the market is lethargic once I've my mind made up on a project. If a project I want to buy is seriously dumping, I only have to check up its SM handles to read what investors on the project are saying. If they're expressing optimism and the Devs haven't abandoned the project, I know it's a good sign to find a buy position. I don't chicken out. It takes risk to make money in this industry. Why buy a project on a high when I believe it's going to come down and let me in at a low point? Cheap doesn't mean buying into a bad project.

Bitcoin to drop $500? The likelihood of this to happen is very low, reason being that the demand for BTC exceeds its supply, and every slight discount in the price of Bitcoin people now see it as an opportunity so when more people are willing to buy Bitcoin than they want to sell their Bitcoin, then who sells then? The law of demand and supply is what affects the price of an asset to devalue in such a dramatic way, but Bitcoin solved the problem of increasing supply and it's limited, check every asset you know that has limited supply, Land, Gold, and rare elements etc, if their prices has ever dropped, therfore stop thinking or assuming if that's is going to happen,  The answer is almost 99% not going to happen because of Bitcoin's limited or fixed supply.

Why do you want to consider things that are not going to happen. It's hard to keep bitcoin under 90K and you're talking about 500$ bitcoin price. The institutions/whales aren't mad, they buy bitcoin only to see a day when it goes to zero. By the way, 500$ btc price is like impossible to happen and if it were to happen, it would be Bitcoin is dead forever. I think going below 70K won't be easy now as the demand for bitcoin is like never before. Another bullish news for crypto is that Paul Atkins has officially become the new SEC chairperson.

I wouldn't go as bold as you regarding the matter.
Selling land when BTC is so low to see it rise again - it probably won't bounce that easily, and the land would be needed for sure.

What event, in your opinion, would even cause such an earthquake in price?

Of course, it will still come back to the digital gold narrative and people will forget this dip, just like how people forgot about that $3K dip back then. Yes, it would ruin some people’s portfolios, but with due diligence, they should know what they’re getting into.

Like the famous quote says, “Be fearful when others are greedy, and be greedy when others are fearful.” If Bitcoin ever dropped to $500 again, it would be seen as the buying opportunity of a lifetime for those who understand its long-term value.

Many would panic, but smart investors would accumulate silently. History shows that the strongest gains often come after the deepest dips. Even if you fud it, there will be some silent buyers in case it pumps again, so if 50% of the people have the same thinking, then it could go back to what it deserves and play the digital gold narrative again.

That’s the truth about these, some people are always going to be skeptic about Bitcoin price, believing it would at some point dump to a price that would make it look ridiculous looking at where it must have fallen from. There would as well be those that would remain optimistic and hope for the best in price appreciation. Either one that plays out, I think the reaction of each of us wouldn’t be very clear until we get there. There would be conditions that would surround our interpretation of the market to determine how we would behave.

Before it gets to that price, many would have lost interest in it and not want to have an investment in such token that can go as low as that after reaching an ATH of such price. The people that never believed in it will be more happy that they never trusted the investment in the first place and will definitely use it as mockery to those that already had interest and invested in it. The cryptocurrency market is very volatile, but no matter how Bitcoin volatile may be, it won’t get back to that price ever again unless it becomes a failed project which you and I know it’s impossible to say with all the features and credibility it has now.

But that is human culture, brands will do that kind of thing to what assets they believe in, after reaching their target they will speculate for the next possibilities and possibilities, it has been proven from many human characters in assessing assets.

The speculation is almost the same on any asset, yes although it is still unclear and can be ascertained, but if you look at history you will see the same thing.

What on earth will that kind of a thought will come to your mind the probability of Bitcoin going back to $500 is very slim or non existent because Bitcoin has been accepted world wide and adoption rate has also increased so Bitcoin will not go back to the price you are speculating it to be, but even if you wish come to pass plenty people will buy because any one with an investment mindset will not look at the but what they will get in return.

This was almost the question many people where asking some few years ago when Bitcoin was coming up if Bitcoin can really get to even a thousand dollar but today Bitcoin has far surppased the expectation of many who where still skeptical about Bitcoin

Before it gets to that price, many would have lost interest in it and not want to have an investment in such token that can go as low as that after reaching an ATH of such price. The people that never believed in it will be more happy that they never trusted the investment in the first place and will definitely use it as mockery to those that already had interest and invested in it. The cryptocurrency market is very volatile, but no matter how Bitcoin volatile may be, it won’t get back to that price ever again unless it becomes a failed project which you and I know it’s impossible to say with all the features and credibility it has now.
Bitcoin will always be volatile, but the slightest dump in the market is never a sign of Bitcoin's weakness, many new investors think that Bitcoin is going to go much lower now when they see a Bitcoin dump. This shows that they are not real Bitcoin investors, because a real Bitcoin investor knows very well that there is real potential in this volatility, because every dump makes Bitcoin more stronger.
I think that an investor will get a very good idea of the real potential of Bitcoin, if he looking at the popularity and acceptance of Bitcoin. The future of Bitcoin is bright, so no matter how much Bitcoin dumps, never be afraid, these are opportunities, and those who take advantage of the opportunity, he will definitely benefit a lot.

Human nature prevails, I agree, - and it's wise to understand that, no matter the case, there will always be a desire to think about the possibilities and what may come in the future Roll Eyes

I will definitely try to buy more Bitcoins as soon as I get the chance to buy them at a lower price. In that case, if I get the chance to buy Bitcoins at $500, it will be a great opportunity for me. I can only dream of buying Bitcoins at this price, but I don't think it will ever be possible in reality. Even if Bitcoin's price is not $500, if it drops to $1, I will still believe in Bitcoin and buy and hold Bitcoins. I don't believe that Bitcoins are an asset that will ever be scammed. So no matter how much the price of Bitcoins drops, I will never be afraid of investing Bitcoins.

If bitcoin suddenly drops to $500 amidst the rapid growth of interest and you say you really want to buy it in large quantities - then think two things. First - what caused bitcoin to fall so low - second, what can save you from the loss when 99% of people lose faith in bitcoin?

I would say that it is almost impossible for bitcoin to go down to $500 unless something major happens, like a technical failure or something. I don't believe bitcoin can go back down to $10K when it has been around $110K to $150K - so $500 is not the most reasonable price I would expect. Even in a bearish cycle - I don't think bitcoin will lose 90% of its highs, that won't happen in my opinion. You can correct me if I'm wrong - but let me know if the above statement is correct.

You can certainly expect bitcoin to drop 50% to 70% from its high price during a bear cycle - but losing 90% of its price seems less likely. But who knows - we never know what the future holds, but try don't put all your eggs in one basket.

The way Bitcoin market is growing, people need to learn that we are no longer in that era of conventional market anymore where anyone can just come and dump and treat the market as they want, there are ETFs, there are institutional cooperations that are holding Bitcoin and many are have sold some part of company shares to buy this Bitcoin and for Bitcoin to crash like that, it means that many of them will not wake to see another day because their company will be running at lost or even bankrupted.

For that reasons, institutional will do anything to protect their investment and the profit they have made, the market will continue to mature and learn new things but that dump is the least we are going to experience. If Bitcoin go low as $40k, that means we are not going to be having Microstrategy and some Blackrock investors here again and that will not happen before their eyes, they will buy to protect their investment at all cost.

There are some level of assumptions for Bitcoin price that we are not surposed to engage in it discussions, and for as much as we play cool with the volities in Bitcoin market it still give us some level of confidence, that Bitcoin price has stable at so level, Bitcoin can't drop below $20k in the next two three years ahead, and rather Bitcoin could go triple the current price and still counting so let not engage too much in this discussion.

Anything that would drive the price of bitcoin down to as low as $500 have succeeded in killing bitcoin, I won't be buying because what this simply means is that the price is gong to zero and there is no two ways about it..

As much we still try to as much as possible be careful with our investments in digital currencies, Bitcoin is the most successful when it comes to digital currencies, and it is not out of place or an exaggeration when I say that Bitcoin has grown past the point where it could fail, and what this means is that the current bitcoin can never go as low as not even $10,000 from where it currently is, if this happens, then it means the end of the cryptocurrency.
