Merit sources can be removed by long time of inactivity, and in this thread, merit source applicants who are inactively in latest months are not included.

Applicants from local boards can provide information as currently there are many merit sources in their local boards. I will include it in this thread for reference.

Accepted merit sources from the list but I can miss some newest approved merit sources. If you are such new sources or know of missing sources, please inform me.

It is worth knowing that I applied also for local board on the same thread with my general board application. This is it: Re: Charles-Tim local board merit source application. I remember I included it when I saw that there were many posts on the board that were worth to be given merit but not given merit.

I am active on general boards and on Nigeria local boards. Merit source that can be giving merit on local boards can easily be known from their activeness on the local boards.

Well, seeing as no merit source application has been approved for someone posting in the Greek board I don't think the arguement of language is appreciated that much, but since I've become more active here in the meantime, it might be worth to give it a push.

Let me add the merit source application of Lucius. This forum member has been very active in different boards. Maybe OP should do a comprehensive search to identify more pending applications.

OP thanks for bringing this up and creating the necessary highlight on the existing applications, I research to discover that a thread had been created already on the same subject matter https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5464174.0 while I also found out that some applications were not included here, you can make a comparison to know which one has been ommited, even though only one got approved by theymos after a long while, but am wishing other applications considerable success.

Perhaps the criterion is that the OP listed the users that he could connect to certain local boards, and skipped those that he could not connect in that way. However, even there I see some illogicalities - for example, for @icopress it is stated that it belongs to the German local board. Maybe he wrote a few posts there (I don't know), but from what I can see he's rarely been active on a completely different local board lately.

I thought icopress is an Ukrainian and post on Russian local board because some Ukrainians understand Russian while some are even speaking Russian.

We’ve had candidates since 2018, which means 7 years of waiting. This shows that the administration has no real interest in appointing more merit sources. If I were a candidate, I’d withdraw my application and just leave things as they are.... Maybe it would be more appropriate or simpler for the forum administration itself to come here and ask for candidates if they ever decide to add more sources. People end up waiting for years without any response, and I find that kind of frustrating.

Damned if I can read Theymos's mind, but I don't think it's got anything to do with the popularity of the Greek board or the language--he just hasn't tapped any new merit sources for any section in quite some time (that I know of, and I could be wrong).  And I don't know about anybody else, but I get the feeling that if the merit system is going to continue to be a thing, Theymos really really should at least consider adding a few new merit sources.  Older ones who've been doing it for years might be drained of enthusiasm, and some have dropped out for various reasons.  Looking at the merit stats, it appears that some of the big merit senders have been sending less (but I'm cross-eyed, so double check me on that)--but in any case there's going to be some attrition over time.  If inactive/burned out sources aren't replaced....well, this forum could go flying sideways at light speed into a shitposting tar pit.

icopress isnt German and did not apply for the German Local Board by the way.
I really dont know who was the last Merit Source that got a spot from all that Merit source applications.
I would say that nobody got it , but i can be wrong as i not following all of the applications that where made from other Local Boards.
But i guess the only one who knows that is theymos.

Pursuant to the title "waiting list" I suggest you would have included all the merit source application that is awaiting approval from the admin. After cataloging them all, you can indicate those users that are not active and those that are active, because if the admin wants to use your list to approve any application, the topic can help them know which applicant is active and the ones  that are not active. Apart from the admin, other users on the forum can also know which applicant is active.

If anyone if that list had their application approved, we would know;
1. By their update in the thread stating how they have been accepted to be a merit source
2. By the way, they spend the merits vs the amount of merits they have.

Looking at the different links of the application threads, you can tell when they applied and will probably know when they get accepted after the user updates the thread.

As one of the many merit source applicants, I must say that I did not get any confirmation from anyone. The application was open for some time and was on the waiting list, but then I was pessimistic about continuing to queue considering that the local board Indonesian board already had 3 merit source. Other applicant may be the same as me, meaning their application are still on the waiting list and have not received any confirmation from anyone.

But considering the merit statistics on local board Indonesian seem weak, one might need to apply. The existing merit sources seem lethargic in distributing their smerit, not sure what their reasons are although it may generally have something to do with the standard of posting quality expected by each merit source.

Croatian local board has enough merit sources - I applied to be a merit source for the gambling boards.

The gambling board is in desperate need of a merit source with huge merit allocation. Cryptofrka will fit perfectly for that role because he is genuinely one of the most active gambling posters, a real gambler, and not just another one of the plenty of spammers there.

I also will really like his application to be considered because there are too many very good topics on the gambling board that have gone unmerited.

The gambling board seems to have quite a few active merit source - it's just that they may be focusing on the same threads for a long time. I remember names like LFC_Bitcoin being one of the more active merit source in that section - but that may have slowed down especially in the last 3 months I've seen. There are a few other merit source that are active there occasionally - but it's true that more merit sources are needed on some active board especially if there are a lot of quality posters active there.

But anyway - not many merit sources are willing to be active as often as they want on spammy board. They don't like digging up quality posts in trash - so it makes sense that the average merit source doesn't like spammy boards. This doesn't mean that gambling board are spammy - but there are plenty of low-quality posts there every day that are worth reporting.

I am sorry for missing your application, but the inactive merit source applicants are not qualified to be appointed as merit sources. Like be inactively for 6 months or 1 year, it is no longer active enough to distribute merit.

I add your merit source application to OP, some others, and correct several incorrect information.

I can not know all applications and it's my thanks to everyone who help me with information for the list.

If they are already merit sources, they are not in the list.

Merit sources have bigger merit outflows than merit inflows and you can see their merit outflows with forum merit stats page.

I am sorry for missing your application, but the inactive merit source applicants are not qualified to be appointed as merit sources. Like be inactively for 6 months or 1 year, it is no longer active enough to distribute merit.

Now it seems like a more complete list to me. 

You have to try to keep the list updated, so that it is quicker to find who has applied and is waiting.
