This is nice, though I don't know if someone else has already done this compilation concerning awaiting merits source but it is good you bring them up here so that it would be that easier for theymos to see them and makes his selections based on the most active posters of each local board or general boards. Of course you are right Op as those who are merits sources usually have more merits outflow than inflow merits, this is the way to notice if they are source.

OP thanks for bringing this up and creating the necessary highlight on the existing applications, I research to discover that a thread had been created already on the same subject matter https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5464174.0 while I also found out that some applications were not included here, you can make a comparison to know which one has been ommited, even though only one got approved by theymos after a long while, but am wishing other applications considerable success.

As far as I can see, the OP drew his "inspiration" from that very topic, considering that he copied some of the same mistakes that other users in that same topic have already warned about. In addition, I think that the admin has his own internal list of those who applied for that position.

Its not about who is the most active poster in there local board or other boards ,and its not easier for theymos as all applications for a Merit Source are done in Meta.
So he is for sure aware of all that Merit Soucre Applications that where be done in the past years and Month.
We dont know the exactly Criteria what theymos give the the thoughts (that this User should be) made to get an User a Merit Source.
For sure there are some standarts from the past that direct in some lane but to become a Merit Source its choosen by a more points as only write down an application.
Maybe we will never know what theymos will be calculate on who or why he choose Users to get an Merit Source.
On the other hand it would be nice to know from theymos or a little explanation why and why not the User got it or not.

You're wrong too. In OP of that thread, I updated it in September last year, with a latest change from 32990 to 33190 sourced smerit monthly while total merit sources are unchange at 109.

As a forum head admin, he has more data than what forum members have, and he knew more than what we knew. I believe that if theymos did not appoint any new merit source and did not increase monthly sourced merit after very long time - nearly 4 years since 06 July 2021, he has solid reasons for it and he surely did it based on data.

I have a feeling that Theymos already has his own compilation of applications for merit sources, that is if he is still interested in adding more sources. Theymos navigates the forum every day and even if he doesn't, i believe there might be a moderator who sends reports to him about activities in the forum everyday so i doubt if Theymos is unaware of the merit source applications. For me, this compilation by OP is not necessary, had it been they have been approved, it would have been better to keep records of the list of merit sources than their applications.

Usually those who are merits source spend more than they received on a regular basis, for instance check anyone who you think to be a merits source you would see that the numbers of merits he spent is far above the numbers of merits they do receives on daily/weekly basis. Well, I think OP still have a nice job for putting up this as it's summary of those who hard already applied and if by having this list it could be that possible anyone or him to just have it and work it.

I didn't see myself on the OP's list and at first I thought it was because I applied a long time ago, but I see that crwth's application was before mine. I was inactive for a couple of years or so, I think when theymos appointed new merit sources I wasn't active.

Anyway I wanted to comment about it here because I think we need a new merit source for the local Spanish forum. The main merit source, who was DdmrDdmr, has not been active for a long time now, he just updates his threads weekly. Then there is paxmao who if I remember correctly was appointed merit source long ago for the Spanish section but is not active there. However, from time to time, usually at the end of the month, he usually drops in and drops some merits.

I think the local Spanish section desperately needs a merit source that is regularly active there and that's why I would like to reactivate my application.

I added your merit source application thread to the list but when I was checking and composing it, I found out that your application thread was last updated in 2018, and you must update it with newest 10 quality posts. If you don't update your application thread, it will be considered as invalid.

Considered as invalid by you or admin? This makes no sense, because at the time of application, everyone selected 10 posts that they considered appropriate and there is no reason to replace them with new ones. The occasional bump of such topics makes sense from time to time, but nothing more than that.

I think selecting new posts wouldn't give me more points. Some merit sources were appointed even thought they hadn't applied for it. Obviously they were people with a reputation or a lot of activity on the forum, things like that. I think it gives more value to my application today that I'm a much more established member than when I submitted it. Updating the posts I don't think would add any value in the eyes of theymos. That's my opinion.

I am bumping this thread because I've just received a PM from theymos appointing me a merit source. You can delete me from that list. I was hesitating whether to make it public or not, but I have seen that there are other colleagues who have also been appointed and have made it public in their threads, so I don't see the point of hiding it because in time it would be known anyway.

I want to publicly thank theymos and say that I will try to use the smerits correctly especially for the Spanish local board, which lately has a lack of merit circulation.

Really, the OP needs to make an update, to at least mark what we know were accepted.

Excellent, a merit source for the gambling board. I still think there are very few sources there, I can count on one hand how many merits I’ve received for posting in that section. It’s really hard to get recognition even when users make good posts. I think the sources assume it’s 100% spam, but that’s not the case. There are still quality posts and people who really understand betting, sharing tips and experiences.
