I think all participants should be allowed to edit their predictions as long as they do it before the submission deadline. i would argue that even if you could edit your post, everyone would still just wait until the last minute to change their price predictions for a better chance at winning, so it would not make much of a difference really.

This is accurate especially if you are not online during the cut-off date to lock the thread and stop editing.

User can always delete their previous submission and submit new one before the deadline in case he wants to change prediction.

so i guess its time to show how crooked this site is.
