For speed then i wont be that much that expecting on which we do know that Pacquiao is old. I have seen up his video about his conditioning or training for this upcoming fight. Yes, we can be able to see that those fast shadow boxing but i do see the stamina wont be that as much in compared into those prime days.  If ever that Pacquiao would be able to win up against Barrios then that would be that a feat comeback. Some people are that focusing too much about into those money matters like this and like that. Of course we do have our own reasons on why we do tend to get back or having those plans to make up some decision to go despite on having that retirement earlier. People do really love on making up some issues and not just that trying out to enjoy up this upcoming fight.

Speed might slow down, but the stamina that can last up to 12 rounds is a no doubt for the old boxer.
he keeps his stamina in shape and just a little training to be better, while the speed issue is due to his age.

Even PacMan is not fighting in boxing he keeps on running and doing basic training and spar boxing.
that is what Barrios need to go up.. speed might low now but not a big gap that who he is before..

I can tell, Manny still have it and win the game.

Pacquiao is known to love basketball and I think it will really help him out with regards to his stamina. And if you see his body, it didn't gain that much weight after his retirement. He could be just walking close to 154 lbs and so it's easy for him to go down to welterweight.

And even before he fought at 154 lbs, he usually didn't get to that. Against Margarito, I think he even weigh less than 154 lbs.

So I think that's one big advantage as well of Manny as he didn't have to lose a lot of pounds and his body still has preserved that muscles and so I believed that the speed is still there but maybe not as fast and explosive as he used to be. But the power will still be there.

This is where you can say that he has still that discipline when it comes on maintaining his body despite of being retired or maybe he had already some plans in the past that one day he would be climbing up again on the canvass after retirement and thats why he didnt that putting up that much weight or simply neglecting out on maintaining his shape? When it comes to speed then there's no doubt that he might become sluggish in compared with his prime days on which this is understandable but we do know that experience and technicality about boxing style could be still applied and also having that power punches are still there then there's no way for Barrios to be that confident on whose he's that against up to. If there would be some sort of confidence on beating up Pacquiao then its better to change up that kind of mentality as early as now.  Grin We do only have 1 and half month left for their preparation for this fight and for sure Barrios would be that pretty damn serious on taking down this old Pacquiao. I wont say that he would be able to win but I dont take down the possibilities that he might be able to pull this off. If ever Pacquiao loses this one then tons of people would be able to say or suggest that it would be better to completely retire for good. It is for the sake of health and safety in overall but lets see if he would be able to showcase that he's still that capable on doing so.

I watching the kick of press conference, you can see it here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxVkPi4T6hY

No trash talking between the two and Barrios is respectful and seems very happy to see that he will be facing the legendary Manny Pacquiao. And Manny says that he feels young and that he comes back because boxing in his passion.

He also says that he is still very active in his life even if he hadn't fought for many years. So there is no questions about his stamina. And there is also a great card here. The rematch between Fundora and Tszyu.

Much respect for Manny and rightfully so. He’s a true legend who never trash talks, so he absolutely deserves that respect. It also looks like Barrios is really hyped to face Manny in this fight. I'm sure we’re in for another explosive match, especially if Manny still has that stamina he says comes from staying active. He even said he loves to exercise! I honestly can’t wait for this one. And with how early they started their press con, you just know people are gonna watch, so this is going to make a lot of money.

He don't have anything to hate and its really a great honor to fight Pacquaio since somehow it will add great record for his career if he succeed and could able to defeat a legend on Boxing scene. Also its great opportunity for him to became more known on boxing scene that's why having this fight with Pacquaio is really such a great boost for his career.

Pacquaio is out on boxing for 4 years and hopefully we could still see that he has stamina also have good footwork. Since if he fight slow and act like a old man then provably that he will be in trouble against Barrios.

But looking on clips of his training he looks pretty fine and hope he move the same on their game day.

I really hope it’s true that age is just a number for him… because honestly, it’s painful to imagine him struggling in the ring against a champion.

But looking at Pacman’s face,  he still carries that same confidence he had back when he was on top. So maybe we just need to trust his decision. If he chose to come back, then he must still believe in himself. Maybe we’re just overthinking it. Who knows - he might even surprise us all with a KO win.

Do you still believe that could happen?

There is a huge difference between these two fighters. Pacquiao is very old when it comes to this kind of sport, and Barrios is in his peak. No amount of training can overcome the physical differences between a man in his 20s and a man in his 40s. The only chance for this to be won is Pacquiao uses his experience and legacy to overcome this difference. I'm not so sure about it being possible because the difference is large, but I'm still excited to see the fight.

Speed might slow down, but the stamina that can last up to 12 rounds is a no doubt for the old boxer.
he keeps his stamina in shape and just a little training to be better, while the speed issue is due to his age.
Speed and stamina are closely related, so speed slowing down a lot during a match shows weakening endurance.

Even though Manny Pacquiao has had a break from boxing for the last 4 years, he is still a boxing legend, a champion who dominated many weight classes for many years and besides Manny Pacquiao is a positive person and a boxer who always treated his opponents with respect and was never seen trash talking, so Barrios didn't need to promote this fight because Manny Pacquiao's fights are an event in themselves.

The experience of Bernard Hopkins confirms that it is possible to become a champion at the age of 47, but you have to take in mind that B-hop performed without interruption and at the age of 43 almost destroyed Kelly Pavlik, who was the champion, and also lost by controversial decision to Joe Calzaghe, although on points Hopkins should have won that fight.
Soon we will find out if Pacquiao has any energy left for his last great fight.

Honestly I don't quite believe that Pacman can win by KO, not without reason, we know the age difference between these two fighters is very striking and Pacman was also given a fairly short time to recover his fitness I don't expect much from this fight I just want to see Pacman last as long as possible in the ring and show his abilities even though it may not be as great as before.

Most of Pacman’s wins came by KO, so if he doesn't get a knockout this time, there's a high chance he might lose, even if he manages to go the distance.

It’s good that we’re aware of his condition now. He’s been open about actively training, which is great, but age really does matter. You can’t always force the body to perform the way it used to, sometimes, it just won’t cooperate, no matter how strong the will is. You know what I mean.

It’s good that we’re aware of his condition now. He’s been open about actively training, which is great, but age really does matter. You can’t always force the body to perform the way it used to, sometimes, it just won’t cooperate, no matter how strong the will is. You know what I mean.

Before when he is in prime he K.O most of his opponent, but situation is different now especially that he's age and provably that his power also got decrease.

Also he's opponent Barrios is somehow young and strong that's why fans think that he has high chance to win this fight against Pacquaio.

Crazy to think on what is the game plan of Pacquaio here and although people say that he's still strong because he's legendary Pac man but still people need to consider his age also his body conditioning. I don't think Pacquaio has a high chance to win this but rather I think his chance to win against Barrios is 50%. But lets see the flow of the game since its really a great comeback win if Pac man could successfully take this fight.

The odds clearly reflect the chances.. Barrios is the heavy favorite, and even the oddsmakers see the underdog's chance of winning as very slim. But honestly, that’s not what I’m focused on right now.

I’m just excited to see him back in the ring. Ever since he stepped away from boxing, we haven't had a Filipino champion who could really bring the nation together.
Back when he was at his peak, it felt like the whole country would stop whenever he had a fight. He had that rare ability to unite Filipinos, no matter where they were.

Mnay is over extending himself, he will find himself in an unfamiliar territory, he is 46 years and out of the ring for five years, I don't want to expect something ordinary to Pacquiao, I just wish he will come out, I don't want a repeat of the knockout that suffers when he fought Marquez the last time.

People tend to be dismissive of cons when they they are emotional. In particular here, many are fans and feel nostalgia when it comes to someone like Pacquiao. That is why they start dismissing the age difference, when it is a very big issue in this match up. I hope that there will not be a knockout as you say.

And that is why we said that fighters are good only in their last fight. Because the next fight might be very different as they could age overnight. We have seen a lot of boxers in the past that might have taken back the clock and still win. However, in the next fight, it was totally disaster for that boxer.

In any case, Manny might be not the same of breed, I mean we can consider him like a freak of accident. A unicorn that seldom appears in the boxing world. So he might still have a good chance to win for all we know and still be fight even at age 46.

I agree since they always hope to see same good performance the same as before, but they didn't take consideration of his age and if he can still perform the same.

Provably power and stamina is there but for sure there's a decline happened. I don't expect anything much about this fight but let see if Pacquaio would really get this. Can't blame people to doubt on Pacquaio's current state, but again let see on what will happen in this fight since somehow its really great to see Pacquaio to win against Barrios. But for sure that the champ won't let this situation to happen since he have record and pride to protect so this is tough on both fighters that's why I still think that this is also an exciting boxing event to watch.

Most fitness coaches base their opinions on how aging affects boxers, but Pacman is different. He knows his body better than anyone, and he’s coming back to fight with the goal of winning. That’s his mindset.

And even if he loses, I don’t think we can blame him for returning.
Boxing is his passion, and no matter what happens, one thing’s for sure, when he steps into the ring, the world stops to watch.

I mean we haven't seen anyone before, 8 division champ, started poor but turning on to become one of the best in our generation. And his name was always in the discussion on GOAT. So his fitness is very different from the majority of boxers.

And even if he loses, I don’t think we can blame him for returning.
Boxing is his passion, and no matter what happens, one thing’s for sure, when he steps into the ring, the world stops to watch.

Even before when Manny losses fight, he is still well loved and accepted by fans. So I don't think that there will blaming game here. As you have said, it's his passion, started with nothing and then end up with everything. Truly one of the best and the world stops when he is fighting.
