I don’t really get why Mayweather is suddenly being brought up. Yeah, he beat Pacman, but he’s been retired and there’s no sign he’s coming back.

Sadly, it is inevitable to happen. A lot of people have still not moved on from that fight and want to see a rematch. Speaking of Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, I saw several articles where Pacquiao called out Mayweather and asked him to fight again just after his fight against Barrios.

If Tyson can fight deep into his 50s (admittedly, he shouldn't have -- or at least fought against a more age-appropriate contender), then yeah for sure a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight could still happen. Apparently Mayweather could get up to $250M for the fight and Pacquiao could get $120M, per an ESPN story about their last PayPerView numbers. Mayweather did fight last year in an exhibition match, so its not like he's totally out of the sport. A rematch would draw massive numbers.

yeah, no doubt it will draw massive numbers, a lot of people want to see a rematch but I feel like the only way a rematch will happen between Pacquiao and Mayweather is if the money Mayweather will get from the rematch is good enough for him, other wise he wouldn't engage in a rematch.

It's because they are arch-rival and they should have fought when Manny is still in his prime. But Mayweather chooses to fight him when Manny was already beaten and so for us he could have at least given Pacman a rematch. And the thing is that even Manny himself said that he wants to fight Mayweather. So his name will always be there for discussions.

After seeing Pacman’s fight with Barrios, you can tell he’s still tough to beat. Since he already tested himself against a taller opponent, maybe next time he can go against someone closer to his size, so we can see more of a toe-to-toe kind of fight, not the usual defensive style.

And honestly, no need to worry about his age. Manny’s already proven that age is just a number for him.

He didn't disappoint on his fight and that's why many fans are dissatisfied with the result of the decision but, not with his performance. I have also heard of the rumor about his next potential fight and see, it didn't even took a week when these rumors came out about his next fight if it happens again. He's no longer in the politics and so, he's free to do whatever he can now. Maybe after 5-6 months, he can box again after preparing for this potential fight or how long it should take for him to prepare and get on the fight again?

Yeah likely Pacman, will get another chance if not a rematch with Barios will definitely tie up to different boxer with more interesting. But for me, I think a rematch is good to see the chance of both. I feel that Barios hold back due to his respect to Manny. But whats interesting rematch is Pacman and Mayweather. In his prime Manny usually fights twice a year. But not sure if he can do this at this age though. I think he needs more rest before his next fight. There are a lot of boxers calling Manny right now, it's because they know that fighting Manny is like hitting the lottery. But we all know that we wants him and Floyd fight again for a rematch. Not that there is any excuse, but Manny's shoulder is not 100% during their first fight. But let's see what would be the decision, although we can see that he can still box and might still have the power. But it's the timing of the punch, however, he has been out of the ring for many years and probably that could also be attributed for ring rust. In any case, there was an interview with Floyd Mayweather where he said that he will not fight in a rematch against Pacman because they are not only very much old already but this might also destroy their legacy in the sport of boxing. This might be the first time where Floyd is not chasing a big purse hehehehe.

You raise some very valid points!  At Manny’s age, recovery takes longer and ring rust is real after years out. While he still looks sharp, timing and reflexes naturally declining. The reason so many fighters want to fight him now is quite simple since his a renowned 8th time champion and that good for any opponents on their resume. A rematch with Floyd would be huge, not just for boxing, but for global sports history. Their first fight left questions especially with Manny’s shoulder issue and fans would love a definitive ending. If it happens, it’ll be more about legacy than peak performance. I really wanna see a lose on Floyd proud record. Damn! Haha

No doubt about that, but neither of them has a title right now. Mayweather would just need to come back and make the fight official, not just another exhibition match. We don’t know if it will actually happen, but when money talks, everyone listens. I reckon Pacman's statement was not a callout. It was something more similar to a suggestion or an idea where he expressed that he has an interest to fight if Floyd comes back from his retirement. However, similar to what I have said already, Floyd does not have an interest for this because this might destroy their legacy.

My only wish for Pacman and Floyd is they become partners in training similar to Rock and Apollo hehehe. They can train their sons to be very skillful boxers similar to them. This outcome would certainly be very good for the fans and the sport.

It's just weird to hear that Floyd is having problems financially, it was seen that he is a good in terms of money and investing it. Although we might not be familiar with it as we all know that this kind of individual loves to flaunt their status as rich and ton of money.

And I don't know if it is true that a 53 year old Shane Mosley has also make a comeback but lose the fight? I thought that he might be the next one calling Manny for a fight but I guess with this lose, he is out of the equation.

I personally hope that this will come into fruition but i would not be surprised if Floyd will keep mum on this idea of fighting the Pacman but definitely we will see Pacman fighting again against an Romero or Davis.
