Benfica-Fenerbahçe was a big game and I expected nothing less than a competitive match between the pair. Pre game Benfica have recorded two wins and two draws in four and Fenerbahce have not won so it was an easier bet to pick Benfica over Fenerbahçe and boy was I right

To add that Benfica hardly loses when they play at home, they had played against Fenerbahce in the friendly game in which Benfica played at home and won, so it was expected that Benfica would win that game, Turkish teams have not done well in European competitions, it is not only Fenerbahce that is in this situation, Galatasaray will also be eliminated early in the Champions League and the saddest thing is that Fenerbahce has a good squad and a good coach, but even so it has had a poor performance in European competitions

In the first leg, they lost and conceded 3 goals. But at least they managed to score 1 goal, which gave them some hope for the second leg. Unfortunately, in the 5th minute, they conceded the first goal, and the situation worsened in the 8th minute when they were reduced to 10 players. Fenerbahçe tried their hardest but were unable to capitalise on their home advantage; it will be good to see Jose Mourinoh and his team in the Champions League this season, but their performance is insufficient to qualify; Benfica has qualified and has young talented players who are very capable of making the team perform well in the Champions League this season, but they always struggle to defeat big opponents in the competition.

The many matches from the UCL qualifying round to the play off round, I was a little surprised by the results obtained by Club Brugge. Get a total aggregate score of 9 after defeating Rangers. And in the qualifying round, Club Brugge also performed very interesting with a very strong consistent. I think we can expect a great championship from them and it's not difficult for them to aim for victory. We're talking about a club that can afford to spend a lot and can afford to buy whoever they want. The players are also interested in going to that club.

Despite that ability, why aren't they adding new players or strengthening themselves after a long period of poor performance? Manchester City may not have any financial problems and they can sign anyone, but we can't see that. I still can't fully trust City from the upcoming season. After playing their first two Premier League matches, they won 1 big win against Wolverhampton, but lost the match 2-0 against a relatively strong team, Tottenham. Shadiq you are correct, As long as this season is concern I don't see a chance for Manchester City to lift the champions League title, after the match with them and Tottenham I removed hope in them because I was expecting them to win the match against Tottenham or to even draw the match if they cannot win it but they could not even score a goal Tottenham won them 2:0, they may have a chance to lift the premier League title but not the champions League because they are more stronger club than them in the champions League and if they are not very informed they can't lift the champions League title but if they can improve more on their self then they may have chance of lifting the champions League title but they really need to improve very well they need strong defense and their strikers also should be up and doing.

The Portuguese League is rated higher than the Turkish league.  Based on some betting platforms, Benfica had a 64% chance of winning the match against Fenerbahce. But I was surprised that the Turkish club did not replicate the first performance.  They were the better side in Istanbul but fell short of that performance in Lisbon. Maybe people thought that Fenerbahce would have qualified because of the past records of Jose Mourinho. But his experience and tactical skills couldn't help his side because they were overwhelmed by Benfica's strength.

Because there is a 99% chance these teams will finish with either 1 point or zero point, because of how small they are and how everyone else is better than them. They should be at conference league or Europa league level at best. Because of bad drawing luck, two of the biggest teams in qualifying matched each other.

Yes it appears out of balance on paper.  However the updated format aims to upend the status quo & give underdogs a chance.  The historic entries this season, Kairat defeating Celtic, Pafos defeating Red Star & Bodo/Glimt thrashing Sturm Graz, are not coincidences, they are exactly what UEFA wanted.

Simulations actually demonstrate that, in contrast to the previous 4team group model, the new incomplete round robin system lessens the influence of draw luck.  Let's face it, elevating smaller clubs to prominence does not detract from football, rather it attracts new supporters, cultures, stadium atmospheres & real magic moments that larger clubs are unable to create.

The season does favor underdogs however that is not a bad thing, it is purposeful, thrilling & just what football needs.

I'm with you on this one... This is the most difficult and entertaining route in the league phase. I have a feeling they'd still manage to somehow qualify, but I don't think without Donnarumma, they can go that far in the competition this year.

This is another reason why the Champions League is the most prestigious club competition.

This is a good way to motivate the clubs to play their best and make every game a must watch for fans because they get to see their clubs giving it all they got. The games are important because each game you win earns you more money both for the clubs and the players. With this money, the clubs can strengthen their squad and the competition gets more interesting. I don't think there can be ever be another competition that'll be as profitable as the champions league to the club participating. Who's going to be the winner this year that's the toughest question right now because any answer that you give mightn't be the right answer as anything can happen.

I haven't found the match schedule in the Champions League but if what you say is true then it is a shame, I don't know why I get annoyed when strong teams fight each other in the early stages I mean it would be better if we watch it in the middle or at the end. But yeah now UCL with new system even though they beat each other there is still a chance to qualify if they collect points from other matches.

Talking about Chelsea at the moment they are a different team from previous seasons or we can call it on the same level as Barcelona. On the other hand, Chelsea is always underestimated when playing against Barcelona but in the end they are always luckier so I think both teams have the same chance.

Jose Mourinho tried his best for Fenerbahce because he played draw against Benfica in the first leg and if not for the red card they got in the second leg match yesterday, the match could have ended in a draw and probably, a penalty shoot-out would have happened. Benfica is a very tough team from the Portuguese league but for Fenerbahce to only concede one goal shows that Jose Mourinho really did a perfect job in their defense. Now that Fenerbahce has been kicked out of the Champions League qualification round, Mourinho should now prepare the team ahead of their Turkish Super League games.
