Honestly, I want a team that has never won the UEFA Champions League to win the trophy. It was really impressive, seeing PSG won the trophy last season, this time, my bet will be on Arsenal. They have been impressive for a long time now. I want them to win the UCL, EPL and any other domestic title in Europe.

I think the new UCL format is good this way. Teams have to play each other before moving to the knockout stage. It gives room for average teams to qualify to the next round without being eliminated in the first round.

It is obvious you underestimated Royale Union who are beating PSV 0-2 at half time. It is easy to go with this option since it is expected that PSV would have used their home advantage to win the match. At the current half time score, PSV will only be targeting a draw which is possible. Juventus against Borussia Dortmund is another match I'm expecting to have similar result because Dortmund is in good form this season and have little regard for away.

That has always been the problem of Arsenal, in a match they should comfortably win but they will be stressing their fans. I know that away matches are difficult to win but for the fact that they met Athletic Bilbao in a friendly match before the season started, it should have given them clues of how to beat Bilbao without so much difficulty but look how they struggled to a first half goalless draw. They better improve in the second half because if they use same format they used in the first half they may either end up in a draw match or Athletic Bilbao might even win.

Actually the starting of champions League is always like the moment all the league has just started because of the kind of feeling it gives and the good thing about this starting is that it didn't start with some kind of clubs that would be boring watching but instead there was a mixture of premier League good team and also other league. I think Tottenham Hotspur is better in terms of betting to win instead of GG because they has more chance to win than GG for me, although is also very possible for your prediction on them because Villarreal is also clubs that usually have this kind of goals.

The start of the Champions League feels like a kind of seasonal festival. The reason is that it is the biggest and most exciting league in club football where the best clubs from the best local leagues participate.

In the UCL, Real Madrid has been the most dominant club in all the years of the competition followed by Bayern Munich and the rest clubs that have consistently participated in the competition.

Truly it felt different having a team like PSG that has never won the UCL before winning it last season. If another team that has never won it before can win it again this season it would make very fascinating a record. Among all the teams that are in attendance this 2025/26 season it's just Arsenal, Dynamo Kyiv and Athletico Madrid that have never won the UCL.

Paris Saint Germaine became the first club to win the UEFA Champions League competition as a first timer since Chelsea lifted the trophy in Munich 13 years ago and surely gave football fans a fresh feeling but I don't think that'll make us see another new winner of the competition this season.

Most of the top European teams who have won the UCL before are in good form at the moment and I expect them to go all the way a win it. As a Real Madrid fan, I'm very much optimistic that Real Madrid will win the competition this season. But if for any reason Real Madrid fail to win it, I think any of Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Manchester City or Chelsea will win it.

I think the most exciting and competitive match of the evening will be Athletic Bilbao vs Arsenal.
The highest-scoring match in my opinion, will be PSV Eindhoven vs Union Saint-Gilloise.

Here are my predictions:
Arsenal, PSV Eindhoven and Tottenham. I believe these teams will win tonight.

Hope that Arsenal start the Champions League season with a win. Bilbao lost a home game this week against Alavés, so they might be a little shaken by it. My money is also on PSV, and maybe a little surprise from Villarreal  .

Arsenal is in better form, so I think they will win this match. I also think Tottenham will win the Tottenham vs. Villarreal match. English clubs usually have the upper hand over clubs less accustomed to competing in the Champions League, while Tottenham and Arsenal are used to the intense competition in the Champions League.

What intrigues me is the Juventus vs. Dortmund match, which is difficult to predict because both teams are in top form. Perhaps Juventus will have an advantage because they start their UCL match at home.

I'm also very intrigued by the Juventus vs. Borussia Dortmund match, that's actually a great classic as a draw, we've certainly seen little of it lately, but I have to say that I'm very interested to see how Juventus will behave after the victory against Inter.

I can only speculate on the Athletic Club vs. Arsenal match because this is the match I chose to watch.
Played at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao, with a packed stadium, the first 45 minutes were quite tense, with both teams' attacking tensions very evenly matched. Arsenal's attacks were weak on the right or left side of Bilbao's defense, occupied by Madueke.
Calafiori also forgot to drop into his position when Arsenal attacked.
There were opportunities for Arsenal to score, judging by their play in the first half. Of course, both teams had the opportunity to score in this match.

I don't see how Arsenal will lose this game, the game is quite balanced and a little bit towards Arsenal winning. Athletic Bilbao have started to defend and very soon fatigue will set in.
It would be very tight to the end of the match but I have a good feeling that Arsenal may run home with this victory maybe by a single goal.
