The truth is Alot of people feel that barcelona can not be able to defeat newcastle so easily, me personally was thinking the same because if we are considering the superior teams in premier league I think newcastle will be included in the list.

Barcelona is not also a small team, so it if we make comparison to Newcastle, then the two team are strong enough among the famous clubs in premier league, but as you have already suggested, we can't expect that this does not have any significant impact if their current form is better than each other, we know that as for now, Newcastle can still be in best position over Barcelona, except we want to choose fan of a thing as criteria here.

Both team are good but I don't think I can compare Newcastle and Barcelona because they both play different pattern and regardless I think Barcelona is better than Newcastle without been bias. There play yesterday said everything, what Newcastle was doing yesterday was mostly counter attack and Barcelona doesn't have a good defender and they were very lucky yesterday else Newcastle would have scored before them. One thing I like so much about Barcelona even though I'm not there fan is possessive game, it is very hard to posses Barcelona even Real Madrid don't win Barcelona anyhow in possession. Newcastle was very lucky that Lamine Yamal was not present because it would have been a different story and score line because he is so creative just like Cole palmer, they play football so easily.

Seriously, this season Newcastle's performance is very low compared to last season, although the season just started, and we should never underestimate their performances. But a team that can do better, suppose, started the season with good performances, and Newcastle is not like that. Most of the teams are well prepared for this season so that they can fight their opponents back-to-back.

Honestly, Newcastle performances have dropped this season compare with how they started last season and the cause of it is they lack striker. I’m confident that if Isak were still playing for Newcastle, their performances wouldn’t be like this. As they are struggling now, I’m not even sure they will go far in the Champions League.It’s not that they aren’t trying, but the problem is that they don't have the kind of reliable striker like Isak. Before the match began, PSG, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Liverpool, and Man City were indeed more favored, and it proved true as they managed to secure full points. Meanwhile, in my opinion, Liverpool defensive line is more concerning than Barcelona, as they have conceded 6 goals in their last five matches, while Barcelona have only conceded 4.

I stand to agree with you that Barcelona were not favored by the bookmakers because I never expected the 2.71 odds Barcelona has to win against Newcastle United in their Champions League match yesterday, but even though Barcelona were not favored by the bookmakers, Barcelona was able to defy the odds and they defeated Newcastle United 1-2 at full time. Maybe it is because of Barcelona played without some of their key players, that could be the reason the bookmakers gave Newcastle United the upper hand in the game.

Two Manchester City great players were reunited in a UEFA Champions League match but we saw that their former teammate KDB was defeated in the match.In fact, I can't accept that the top Italian club Napoli will be defeated so easily because they were a complete flop against City in this new UEFA Champions League season. To be honest their vitality had been greatly reduced, making them restless in finding the ability to turn the match around.

Manchester City Football Club have won derbies in recent times and they have also beaten the Italian giants in the UCL so if they beat Arsenal they will have three big wins. Arsenal's devastating attacking line might fool them in this Premier League match but my idea maybe Manchester City will be able to put up a fight against Arsenal in this PL match with the help of their new goalkeeper.

There were some really exciting matches to watch in this first round of the Champions League, but as an Italian, I'm only half happy.
The Italian teams only brought home four points:
three points with Inter's victory and one point with Juventus' draw against Borussia Dortmund.
Unfortunately, Napoli and Atalanta had a really tough first match.
Let's hope for a better round in the next matches.

Barcelona played great in their opening match and won this match to collect important points. Marcus Rashford played a great game in this match, he scored two goals for Barcelona and because of this goal, the home team won this match. This season, Barcelona has brought in good players to gain more advantages and they are fighting with excitement from the beginning to stay high in the Champions League. I think this season will be more competitive as each team has brought in good star players to keep their team in high position. When strong teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG and Bayern Munich face each other, the matches will definitely be more exciting against each team.

Well yesterday Barcelona was playing away from home not at home, indeed Rashford had a good game yesterday, though before the goals he was struggling but after scoring the first goal he gain more confidence and he got a second one. Barcelona performance was a good one yesterday, they all did well but can still say that they missed Lamine yamal, there is no much flair in their game unlike when yamal is playing.

Well big test are coming as Barcelona will face PSG and will not face Bayern Munich but Chelsea instead. It going to be an interesting game but let take it a game at a time as they will host gatafe at home this Sunday.

Rashford has really performed well for Barcelona in this Champions League match. This English star is a talented player but his performance has gone down a lot due to his long stay at Manchester United and he made the best decision to move to Barcelona this season. If he had not changed clubs and stayed at Manchester United, then European football might have gradually forgotten about his good performance. The match against Newcastle was a challenging match for Barcelona, if Rashford had not been included in the Barcelona XI for this match, Barcelona might have had to leave the field with defeat. A good performance along with two goals in this match, Barcelona manager will definitely have different plans with Rashford this season and use him as a main weapon.

Looking at the top half of the champions League table there are teams that were not fancied to be there, even though it's just one game that has been played am really impressed by the performance of teams like Frankfurt, club brugge and union saint Gilloise for winning their games comfortably.

And the funny thing about Frankfurt and the rest they don't last to long on does table they are not clubs that have the capacity to win the champions league and even psg that was able to win, luck wad just on there side and there starting are always amazing but they find it very difficult to keep up with the whole thing and they will give people the impression of winning but we all know that it's not possible because this is the champions league and people that survive are very few and I love the attempt but what's the point. But the likes of them are just testing things out and see if it will work out for them. And psg is already second on the table but am so certain that psg will not be able to win the champions league this season also because there are other competitors that are more prepared for the season.

Arsenal in the recent time were able to defeat the Athletic Club with a score of 3-0 without reply. At present, the Arsenal squad revealed by Arteta is the best squad. Maybe in the inaugural match later, Arsenal will have difficulty winning in Bilbao, although the end result of this fight I also tend to protect Arsenal to win.

Because even in their last match against Barcelona, I was very disappointed, as I didn’t expect that kind of performance from them. Honestly, given how the team has played this season, these are signs that they will not do anything much this season in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Newcastle perform better against Barcelona last match but Is just that Barcelona have more better players then them and have more experience then them, I can't blame Newcastle from losing against Barcelona they just don't really have luck in the match, they are missing there key striker isak, they don't perform like last season, before they come back to there best form he will take some times to rearrange there squad, the coach need to take actions if he wants to continue playing in the Champions League every season.

Last season they perform very well that is why they get the opportunity to play the ucl this season, and they will do there best in there next game to achieve three point to make them get the believe that they are still in the ucl. Rashford that many fans are thinking he won't contribute for Barcelona and he as started showing is talent in the pitch. Hansi Flick believe with him that is why he buy him to the clubs, I think there next game they will still achieve another three point because there opponent are not that strong to face them.

I never believed Manchester city will win Napoli it was a thing of shock to me because Napoli is very informed and I was thinking they will win Manchester city because I don't see Manchester city as being that inform but this win has proven that they are now very informed and ready to fight for this seasons champions League title, a big congratulations to them, as for Napoli if they continue like this they will find it very difficult in this seasons champions League well they may pick in the next match.

As for Atalanta I was very sure that PSG will win them because PSG is very much inform than them, I predicted and bet for PSG to win them, there was no way Atlanta would have won PSG, and I don't even see Atlanta going far in this champions League competition.

Of a truth, some of the teams at the top half of the table weren't predicted to be there but come on, it's just 1/8 group stage games so I think it's very early for us to start raising eyebrows on the positions of the teams on the standings. Frankfurt, Club Brugge and USG got wins in their respective games but will they be able to maintain that winning streak? I doubt.

Maybe after the first four games, I'll take the standings of the teams more serious.

Napoli did lose the match, and Napoli really wasn't at their best. Captain Di Lorenzo received a red card in the 21st minute, which changed the game's structure and put pressure on the team. Napoli played with 10 men from the 21st minute against a team with a strong squad like Manchester City. For example playing at home Napoli would have been difficult to win let alone at Manchester City. Furthermore Napoli was also without Lukaku which was certainly a factor in Napoli's defeat.

Yes, Atalanta wasn't good enough to face the very strong PSG. Statistics show that PSG's superiority led to Atalanta conceding four goals unavoidably. However Napoli and Atalanta's defeat in the first leg didn't discourage them from continuing to give their best in this season's UCL. Both teams still have a chance to bounce back and improve their respective positions in the standings.

That is how champions league matches are especially since it was turned into this group stage format. Some teams are very competitive when they play in the champions league better than how they play in their domestic league competitions. As time goes and they get to play more matches, we will see a lot of difference in the league standings again as more teams will come up and replace those that are on the top. But one thing is very common in the champions league, there is always an underdog team that will excel and make it far to where other top teams did.

Arsenal don't have an easy work to do away. But I saw Athletic Bilbao losing to Alaves home the last. An interesting result that was. While Arsenal are in form I don't think they will lose points.

PSV should also be able to beat USG. Despite their high odds I trust them to make difference.

Lastly Real Madrid shouldn't have problems against Marseille home.  

The heartbreaking outcome of this bet slip happens to be the outcome of the game between PSV and Union Saint-Gilloise. Every other game in the slip played as predicted except PSV that finished in a shocking 3:1 loss to USG. I was shocked myself at the result after the game cause who would have thought PSV will mot be able to play USG at home.

It's not too much of a problem for now because, after all, we've only completed one week, so it's quite natural that there are some clubs at the top of the table that are unexpected or unanticipated because the current situation is still biased.

We still have 7 weeks left, which is still quite a long time, so the competition in the standings will definitely be different later on because changes will continue to occur.
Although there may be some unexpected clubs that could still qualify directly, similar to last season with Lille and Aston Villa, ultimately, such conditions cannot be guaranteed with certainty. After all, the current opportunities and probabilities still favor the bigger clubs with the best-quality players. I also doubt they can be able to maintain that position in the long term, this is the champions league and it is the league of the best teams you can come across in Europe. Frankfurt is not a very bad team that they can’t make it to that position as it stands now, besides just one game won’t decide the outcome of the group stage games. I believe after the group stage games, we will see many changes on the table standings. Club Brugge and USG I know won’t stay there past after three games, they won’t even remain in the top half of the table.

Atalanta defeat to PSG was not a shocking one to me though but for them to concede that many goals was not what I excepted because they were not looking that weak to concede that number of goals. They need to get themselves back on track because if they concede more losses in the coming games, their chances of even qualifying from this group stage will be very minimal.

Tomorrow's matches will see Real Madrid try to beat Marseille in Spain. If a red card like the one in the league match is shown, Real Madrid's challenge could be very difficult. Red cards in the Champions League can completely change the course of a game. Furthermore, if Real Madrid wants to forget last year's struggles and win all their matches, they need to be more mindful of their players' card problems. They need to avoid red cards, as they disrupt the balance of the entire team. The Juventus-Borussia Dortmund match will also be one of tomorrow's crucial matches.

It was a tough contest between the two clubs but just as we predicted Real Madrid finished victorious though many think the penalty given for the second goal wasn’t suppose to be a penalty but a goal is a goal and it was given congratulations to Madrid. Juventus vs Dortmund was the blockbuster game which finished 4:4 with all eight goals coming in the second half. This is why the champions league carries more reputation than other club tournaments, the competition is top notch.
