I hope it comes true but they just need to maintain consistency in their game. They have been playing quite a good football from the start of the season and that has earned them the best position in the premier league. They’ve been doing quite well in the champions league also, so I see them the better team in their next game. Consistency should be a core to them, I hope they get to visualise their long term goal this season.

Liverpool now have four straight loss in the premier league and I don’t think they’re the better team to win in this competition with how poorly their game have been recently. I would have seen them as the better team but I don’t think they can be able to perform as much as Real Madrid in this match, so that cancels out their chances of prevailing in this game over Real Madrid. Real Madrid is the better team and will easily get a win in this encounter over Liverpool. You're right, the yardstick should be the same for everyone, but in football it's not entirely easy to use the same yardstick.
However, when evaluating a team's statistics, I think it's fair to compare them in this way.
Let me give you an example: Inter have 9 points in the standings, playing and winning against Ajax, Slavia Prague and USG, none of which are top teams. Juventus has earned 2 points in 3 games,
drawing against Dortmund and Villareal and losing to Real Madrid.
So they faced two top teams and one that is the main contender for the title.
Unfortunately, the schedule plays a huge role in determining the final standings.
