This is more especially to Manchester City, as this has been one of their major problem for some times now. We can clearly see it for about 2 seasons now, and this has not been resolved effectively. For me I don't even know what exactly is even the problem. Low performances in the Premier League needs to be studied, the teams that we expected to do better are the those failing in the league. Manchester City and Liverpool are the two teams that has been dominating for a while, right now they can't even face teams that are struggling to come out of relegation zone, City got their winning goal in 90+1, it tells more about their struggle and the position they will be fighting for, as they no longer have a solid chance of winning any important title.

If we look at the performance of the current Premier League representatives, I think only Arsenal has the potential to go further in the Champions League this season.
