They plan on using a single 120mm rad to dissipate 650W? hah

At wall consumption. But still that's a lot of heat to dissipate, even for a thick push/pull 120 mill rad. I still think its possible, noise will definitely be a factor.

So do you actually need a motherboard or host computer for this thing to work?

If so, that seems retarded.

haha, the bold and the BFL.. a brand new season comming this spring.

it actually would be funny if there wherent so many people left in ruins by this company.

why nobody burned their entire busines to the ground yet is a mystery to me. i think they got enough enemies by now.
i would have done unspeakable things to this company and the lowlife who is their spokesperson ( cant remember his name atm)..
something like those saw movies or something.

How could anyone serious about bitcoin consider BFL as an option ?

By the time you get your unit, if you ever do..... it will mine about the same btc as you would with an toaster oven hooked up to the network.

Check out my coin Photon

Yes. Well considering you could put 6 of these together (assuming spacing with risers and your mobo supports) that's pretty nice. It allows you to scale well as well. But since these are never shipping, it doesn't matter Tongue

maybe i`ll order 2 of them. i need something to keep my books from falling over on the shelve.  Tongue

they might as well just ship those straight to the computer history museum, they collect outdated hardware. maybe they can make a special BFL floor.

hmm, those jokes are just to easy, i can keep going all night  Cheesy

VMC is doing something like that as well. but you have to buy the board to hold the cards from them i believe.

Supposedly you can also use the USB connectors, so you don't need to go back to building 2011-style contraptions with motherboards, risers and GPU-shaped devices hovering above.

That's what I'm thinking too!  I thought those mining with your motherboards with a trillion cards days are long gone.

BFL still living in the past, ASIC era now is all about racking them up in a datacenter in a thin form factor like Spondoolies Tech.

Still don't know how Spondoolies fit all that hashpower effectively in 1.25 U form factor, but hey I guess that's what you get when you get a bunch of Intel, Google, Nokia guys together to make a kick ass ASIC!   Cool

BFL still making mining PCIe x1 cards...LOLOL Grin

Quote
1 TH Bitcoin Miner - Imperial Monarch

Shipping Schedule
This is a Pre-Order product which is not yet shipping.  If you're uncomfortable waiting until the development is complete and the product is shipped, do NOT pre-order this product. Perhaps undesirable, but this is a pre-order market.  Customers flatly demand to get in line for the new technology before it's finished development.  This has created a lot of drama for the manufacturers but it's something we simply have to deal with.  All manufacturers in this space have experienced some degree of delay with their first generation ASIC.  Every last one of them, so we're reluctant to give a specific delivery date.  However, this is our second generation, so we have much greater clarity on the process and plan to begin shipments in March 2014.  Orders are shipped in order date priority so any order placed now should be expected to be delivered in June.

BFL always cracks me up. I also like the fact that they still show the GPU board with a single little fan on the product page. This circus never ends!

I have a chip that hashes twice as fast as BFL's best chip, costs half as much, and ships two weeks earlier than their stuff.
Send me your BTC and I will send you the chip.
The company is named AFL2.0 or something that markets well.

(space reserved for things that tap into the reptilian brain of people with more BTC than sense)

I've got to admit that miner looks real and i love to be able to use it in PC like a GPU

How would you use it like a gpu? Unless your video games run exclusively on sha256 hash have fun pal.

I'm talking about all the fun tinkering with your everyday pc equipment.
With an asic machine you are as if buying a dell PC.
I'm PC modding enthusiast, i think i like it more than gaming itself.
So with this form I can mine and have fun building a PC at the same time.

That's kind of expensive fun, man.

Especially if most people have to wait a year plus for that fun.

Does it ever end with these clowns?

They are at this point just wholesale suckering people into buying shit that doesn't exist. They are no better than any other fly-by-night mining scam.

if you actually believe he had a chat with a DA and they are preparing a case against bfl, i have a bridge in my back yard to sell to you.
...
Government doesnt care, bfl is too small for them.

I honestly don't know how to reasonably respond to that, other than to ask you what possible motivation I would have to lie about receiving the aforementioned call ?

If it makes you feel any better, the nice fellow did add (paraphrasing) "At least you got some money back. I have a lot more calls I need to make with people who haven't"

 Check my history, friend.
I can vouch that Xian01 has [in the past] had contact with various AG/DA.

You are obviously the "newguy" around here....

In other news, just got off the phone with a nice District Attorney who is preparing a case against Butterfly Labs, who wanted to discuss and get more details on the complaints I submitted last year.

What do you know... The justice system works, even if the wheels do turn slower than we'd like sometimes.

*whistles innocently*

+1 oh... we can only dream that end times are near. "Repent! The end is nigh BFL."
