I don't really know if similar question or concerns has been raised before, we often say that we are gamblers but does it mean that anyone who gambles once or twice is a gambler? If no, how long could someone be classified as a gambler or what games that are to be classified as someone gambling.

So far I think I just found this kind of question, if I am not mistaken. So, according to Cambridge Dictionary, gambler means "someone who often gambles", which means that gambler who only gamble once or twice are not included as gamblers, and I think it also means that anyone who actively bets or gambles even once a week, or once a month is still included in the category of gamblers. I also have another thought that if someone who gambles or bets only once, twice, or even only three times a year, then I consider him/her not a gambler, because I feel that such a person looks like just a beginner who wants to try gambling.

And it makes no difference who considers themselves a gambler and who does not, because I think there are hundreds of examples of people spending a lot of money on gambling and doing it very often, but at the same time they absolutely do not care whether others consider them gamblers, addicts or just sports fans.
Personally, for me, a gambler is probably someone who constantly plays gambling games, and is not particularly interested in other hobbies. Someone who has tried all kinds of gambling in online or physical casinos, and prefers any game except poker. I do not consider poker players gamblers, but a slightly different type of player.

Gambler is intended for people who do gambling activities. Even if someone only gambles a few times, that person can be called a gambler, there is no problem with classifying time.
But some people may just try gambling, and after a few times, they stop because they don't get any benefits. We can see that person as someone who has gambled. But indeed, people will call someone a gambler if that person gambles routinely.

This is the first time I have encountered a question like this, in my opinion technically someone who only tries once or twice can be called gambling but not a gambler if it is limited to that without continuing at another time, the same as someone who tries liquor for example one glass, that person cannot be said to be a heavy drinker. Anyone can gamble but not everyone can be called a gambler. For you to be classified as a gambler you must be able to ta without fear or hesitation. This is the reason why you can see a gambler putting 50 to 100 dollars on a bet, this would seem like insanity to people who don't gamble because they wouldn't be able to risk losing such an amount of money. I think that a gambler can be considered someone who loses control over their spending on games, especially when it leads to financial problems. Everything else is just entertainment, where a person decides for themselves how often and how much to play. In this case, gambling remains a reasonable hobby and doesn’t turn into an addiction.

Anyone can decide to have a taste of gambling and after they decide to quit, maybe after a round or twice, these type of people are forced to gamble and they don't expect it to be boring for them, before you say otherwise remember that many gamblers will quit gambling if its been announced that gambling is completely free and making money is no longer available through gambling.

You are a confirmed gambler once you keep going and going, it means you've found something that takes your attention and you enjoy doing it, even those irresponsible gamblers are still confirmed gamblers, it's not hard to figure out.

I wouldn't call players those who came to play a few times and left, they are just people who come to try. And players are those who constantly come to the game, who think that they will win, try their game strategies, make mistakes, experience wild emotions from ups and downs. Of course, it sounds very interesting, but it often turns out that it may not end very fun and interesting and only then the player understands this. We can not always generalize Google's definition of terms without considering individual circumstances on that note I will say that anyone who has bet his money with an expectation of an outcome that is not certain is a gambler it doesn't matter how long or short this can happen. However, we can only make references to different levels of gambler based on longevity and experience while every one can be generally called gambler, that is to say anyone that have experienced gambling irrespective of time is a gambler within his own level this is my assertion in regards to this.

What you are describing is an addiction not a gambler. There’s a thing called responsible gambler that makes every gambler play controlled manner.

You can’t generalize a lose of control on gambling as gambler because a simple bet on any gambling can make you a gambler not with being lose of control.

For me, I do not think that there is any criteria required in technical terms before a person is classified as a gambler,  becoming a gambler doesn't require any form of special skill or a collage degree, whoever choose to become a gambler is automatically referred to as a gambler, it's not some special kind of title where one must meet some certain laid down criterias to qualify..

So for me, I regard any one who claim to be a gambler as a gambler period, I don't have to see you gambling before I regard you as a gambler, if you tell me you gamble, I immediately see you as a gambler.
If you claim to be a gambler whereas you have never gambled before, the shame is yours when a dicussion around gambling comes up and you can't participate because you have zero knowledge of gambling.

People who have gambled a few times, maybe 1-10 times, cannot be classified as gamblers to me. To be seen as a gambler you would have to survive from it and have a track record of profitable gambling experiences. Some people might not believe that there are professional gamblers whose job is full-time gambling. Gambling is a complicated field to be called a full-time job; it could lead to loss chasing and uncontrollable gambling.

A person that gambled once or twice maybe to get the experience of what it's like to gamble then stops maybe because they don't fintit interesting cannot be classified as a gambler. To be called a gambler means that you enjoy gambling and you can afford to take risks with your money, it means that you have taken it as a part of your hobbies. We have many one time gamblers, who either wants to have an experience of it or they are offered free games to play, they can't be called gamblers just because they gambled in one or two occasions, they need to have the interest of gambling to be called gamblers.

Like what every other persons have said, and based on my opinion, if you have interest in gambling and you find yourself gambling or betting either occasionally or repeatedly, you are a gambler. But if you only gambled once and never gambled again I doubt if such person can be classified as a gambler.

Some people may only gamble if there are free moments to gamble such as bonuses earned from giveaways and such.
Like me who will only gamble if I get a bonus from Raflle, a contest or something like that, after that I no longer gamble because it is only a few times and that is very rare.

They say, someone become what he does consecutively in 21 days, if you are not a chronic gambler, you'll skip playing even after a month time, but if you are sturdy gambler, you are sure to be effective in it and almost gamble everyday.

So someone is classified a s gambler if he keeps on placing bets and never skip within 21 days, and someone is not a gambler if he's gambling attitude doesn't warrant him to check odds even after 2 months time.
